I have problem in one outside drawing in my office. in layout there are many viewport but viewport border line not appear.

how could i draw any viewport's border line in layouts, if i do not want to use predefined rectangle,
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a series of drawings that are currently in modelspace. What I have to do is
1) Insert a new border in paperspace.
2) create a viewport and place the view in modelspace into it.
I am trying to use the command -vports but get an SPPROCESSQUEUE error wghen I use lists such as this:
(command -vports (list 0.625 23.59375) "" (list 35.4375 2.625) "")
i was doing some modelling in Maya and I noticed that 2 of my viewports were showing the same stuff at all times.
For example: if I would change one of the viewports to Top view then the other one would do the same thing automatically, as well if I would look around in one of the viewports the other one would follow.
I assume that I have accidentally tampered some settings somewhere, all I know is that when I started modelling my project I didn't have this problem.
I have a model of gums and a set of teeth. What I am trying to do is create an animation where the fourth tooth back on each side of the upper gums disappear then create a blendshape causing the front teeth to move back and fill in the gaps as well as condense the gums so there isn't a gap here either. I am not exactly sure what the best way to do this would be, I am newer to Maya. My question is; Is there and easier way to do this because once I delete the faces and have a divides mesh I go to Mesh->Seperate and select Vertex mode on both and combine the meshes manually by selecting each vertex with the move tool and while holding "V" dragging the vertex over to the adjacent vertex on the opposite mesh. The issue im having is that the width of the mesh starts smaller upfront and progressivly gets bigger as you move to the back of the gums so by deleting a middle section the two meshes dont line up. The back mesh is much wider than the front. I am also worried that when i go to create a Blendshape to transition from the origional mesh to the new shortened one that will pull the teeth back to a perfect smile. I have heard that when creating a BS both meshes need to have the same number of Vertices and after removing a section mine wont. I am also concerned because after the two meshes have been sewn using this process I am left with an ugly point of intersection all the way around my mesh that has proven difficult to blend using the 'Sculpt Geometry Tool' with a falloff/Soft Mod.

I am using Maya 2013 student version and I have - one - Maya file that won't display the lights in the viewport. ALL other Maya files show the lights.
I have attached an image showing the issue.
I'm finding inside 2012 viewport 2.0 that animated textures appear unsupported. They work fine in the regular Default Quality and High Quality modes, but 2.0 as well as rendering in Hardware 2.0 leave the images static.
I have tried iff sequences but it doesn't work for those either.
-how to rotate the viewport not thru the cube.only viewports not objects.
-how to pan .I used to pan with middle mouse button(pressing lt also) and dragging down while pressed on one point .
Also a new type of tool is coming when I pan. i.e. two arrows one big and one small(one on top and other at bottom resp.).with a plus or minus sign at the middle.
I just installed the trial version of Maya 2012 on a new machine, and I'm playing around with the new Viewport 2.0 features. In the preview demo Autodesk showed that one of the new feature is soft edge shadows, but I can't find any way to activate them, the shadows in the viewport are jaggy and pixelated, even if I set the resolution of the shadow map to 2048. Increasing the filter works a bit, but that's the same as the old versions of Maya, so where is this new soft shadows feature?
Also, I would like to point out that I installed Maya 64bit on a very powerful machine, an i7 with 8 GB of RAM and a GeForce 480, but the performance in full screen are VERY DISAPPOINTING, especially when the Screen Space Ambient Occlusion is active, the framerate drops drastically. This machine can run games such a Crysis 2 in full HD at 60 fps, how come the Maya viewport is so slow?!
Are reflections supported in Viewport 2.0 in Maya 2014? I mean direct reflections, not mapped ..

Is there a way to teleport to it?
I probably changed a setting in Maya 2010 and did not know the bigger implications. How to reset maya's viewport settings back to a normal state?? If I have to re-do any of my two plug-ins, that is ok. Last time I messed with maya it was version 5.
I have many, many models done in 3DS, Max and Blender that I am trying to convert over to Maya (my day job's 3D IDE).
I can view any maya (mb, ma) files with no problem. But today, I am having issues viewing results of simple 3DS imports in any viewport of maya.
The attatchments are of the same file (.3DS) being imported to blender3D and of Maya.
viewport2.0 is not supporting for mental ray shaders. When in enable view port mental ray shaders are showing in pink color.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that in one learning project my Perspective Viewport is completely skewed. Other projects are fine, just this one (so far).
Information:
See image IF01.jpg (below) the ViewCubein the Top Right of the Perspective Viewport is perfectly squared and showing the Left View - yet the Grid and all Objects on and around it are angled incorrectly.
Image IF02.jpg shows the Grid and Objects correctly aligned the way they should be - yet the ViewCube is now all off square!
When i'm working in maya 2011, my mesh is not showing the 3 smooth in the viewport. What's the reason behind.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can only make joints for Maya muscle on the default grid, they seem to snap on grid.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I attempt to marquee select (click-hold and drag a box) in Viewport 2.0, the viewport becomes a blank white screen and instead of drawing a box my mouse draws a single thick line. When I release the mouse, the viewport will not return to normal until I move the camera. It actually does perform the selection that I would expect. However, not being able to see what I'm doing is a bit of a pain sometimes.
The irony is that it actually works fine in default and high quality modes, but I'm not able to use those because the transparency sorting is really wonky and doesn't let me see what I'm trying to work on from the angles that I need. Only Viewport 2.0 solves that problem.
What happened to the Thicker Lines feature in the view port Shading menu? This is an absolutely essential feature! Is it part of the removed features in Maya 2014?

I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?

View 5 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.
