Photoshop :: Technicolor, Vibrant Colors
Jun 6, 2006Wanted to ask if there is a filter out there or a technique that will just go over your image to make the colors brighter and more colorful.
Say you take a digital pic of a lake. And all I want to do is make the blues bluer, the greens greener, the browns browner etc...
You know how when they remake an old classic movie they show the "old" movie and then like a "slider" goes from left to right and the "new" DVD version has like all these brighter colors and stuff on the new version. Or in the old days of Technicolor they did the same thing.
I want to take some nature shots and just make them brighter like that, prettier colors.
Playing with just like brightness contrast and and levels and other similar tweaks just seems to generic looking I guess.

I do not get the menu showing visualize spots which is VERY frustrating since it will be a very useful tool. I ahve also installed 5.2 on my laptop and here I do get the tool.

Aug 30, 2006I am in Photoshop, all the colors are darker and more saturated. but when I save the file, it gets all light and not how I wanted it. Just to let you know, I am running CS2.
Much more full of color. This is what I wanted. I also might add that when I load pictures they are darker than when I open them out of photoshop. For some reason it just makes everything darker when in photoshop.

..using calibration on monitor from software based gamma program Samsung
magic eye can see all levels of black and whites with separation on webpage
test, do not have a hardware based tool
R1800 system display properties set to auto choose from profiles I see the
profile and the paper profiles there (later tried manual select ee089_3
>Epson default profile)
reinstalled same to make sure up to date
things I tried:
turn off printer mgmt, let PS manage, chose perceptual>>same exact results
as first too dark,too magenta
turn back to printer mgmt in PS, set to perceptual in PS, gamma 2.2 in Epson
driver>>same exact results
PS choose no color mgmt printer set to standard (was on vivid), try ICM on
sRGB (same as files & camera)
PS back to printer mgmt, relative printer set to icm sRGB input
standard>exact same results too dark, too magenta
make print in Windows wizard software>>same exact results
go back to printer driver-using my old settings that used to match>>
manually by sliders >set brightness up and pulled down magenta>>much much
closer to picture on monitor
have to make 13x13 display prints and am wasting ink and paper testing
all this (used 6x13 strips left over trims)

Mar 4, 2009for years I used Epson r1800 on printer management it usually matches the monitor image quite well I had not had any success using adobe color mgmt in the past
the images I am printing are sRGB and now they don't match at all they are too dark and cool (bluish) If I change the monitor to the match the printer then all of my files will look bad on screen changing the printer setting did not seem to change the actual prints

Sep 5, 2013When im doing artwork in photoshop everything works fine up until I get to the point when I need to use really dark colors. Like different colors of black. When I get to this point the dark colors dont Blend well, they look like theyre displaying only a few shades of grey as opposed to many that would work for it blend better. I tried resetting my preferences and it did nothing. Im using Windows 7, Photoshop CS5.

Sep 16, 2013All of my navigation menus are completely blacked out with dark grey text on top. Certain menus are completely blacked out and show absolutely nothing. When I mouseover the text becomes a readable grey but it makes actions much more difficult as I have to mouse over every single option.
Are there any solutions to this bug?I have uninstalled/reinstalled, updated ATI drivers, contacted support, etc and have found no solution.I am using purchased Photoshop CS3 & I am running Win 7 x64 w /i5-3570k w/ ATI Sapphire 7950 Here are some screenshots of what happens:

Feb 5, 2009I recently bought CS4 and have noticed that everything displays differently in Photoshop than anywhere else. I can not get a pure white. Pure white looks yellow, like french vanilla ice cream.
I have tried everything I can think of to rectify this situation. I have tried changing color profiles, etc. but I obviously don't know what I'm doing, because none of the changes have any effect.
I really need to get this fixed. I have been a Photoshop user for 15 years, and throughout all the versions I've used prior to this one, everything displays properly. I am BUGGED by this, big time. Such expensive software should work right.
I am using a 22" Samsung LCD monitor, if that makes any difference.
I can send screen shots to anyone...

Nov 18, 2003ttf files into the windows/font folder like everybody says, but they wont appear in the font select menu. I've tried closing and opening photoshop, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop, AND uninstalling and reinstalling illustrator just to make sure, but to no avail. They all appear in the font folder, but photoshop will not recognize them. Furthermore, I've been able to add new fonts in the past, they display in the font menu just fine...but not the ones I recently tried to put in. What's going on here? Are there more than one kind of .ttf ? Is there a way to force photoshop to look at the font folder?
I've been tearing out my hair, trying to do this for hours...

A color shows up different in version 14 [ that is the correct display ] . it is incorrectly being showed in version 12. i've put up screenshots of both versions. What setting is messed up in version 12.

Sep 5, 2012I ended my session yesterday, plotted my first layout, everything looks perfect. I started up today and everything is gray. Drawing layer colors are correct. Everything looks ok in the properties pane when I select anything. Print preview shows everything black. Never had this happen before.

Feb 28, 2014When designing a sign for a customer, I take a photo of the existing signs, place on a new document in illustrator cs6, type text then scroll through the text character drop down menu to match the new sign text to the font that is currently on the customers signs, business card etc.
There are many different types of fonts and I would prefer not to have the adobe system fonts, asian, arabic and other fonts that are not used for my purposes.
Is there a way to remove them from this list.
I have tried deleteing them from the window 7 font manager but they are essential system fonts and it displays a message that some programes will not work if I delete them.
I have tried show/hide in the windows 7 font manager but this has no effect on the fonts displayed in illustrator.
