I ended my session yesterday, plotted my first layout, everything looks perfect. I started up today and everything is gray. Drawing layer colors are correct. Everything looks ok in the properties pane when I select anything. Print preview shows everything black. Never had this happen before.
View 9 RepliesIs there a proper way to gray-scale objects in a drawing? What i have done is turned off layers and point groups that I want to remain in color and selected the rest and changed the color in the properties box. Any way to move back and forth from gray to color.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

I have created points in this drawing before.Previously created points display fine.Points created in another drawing and imported into this drawing display fine.All layers have been turned on and thawed, to make sure it's not a layer issue."All points" point group is the top point group.When I create a point manually everything seems to work fine, info is echoed to the command line, etc., but then nothing happens. Obviously it's a setting somewhere, but it is driving me up the wall trying to figure out what setting. I'm sure I will slap my forehead when told what it is.

Why do our feature lines all come in as the color white when xreffed into a drawing? Feature lines show up just fine in our topo drawing, so then we xref it into our design drawing and they all show as if the color is white when is is not in the layer properties. All other items (symbols, points, and lines) come in as the color they were drawn in the topo drawing.

I'm working on one of our standard layouts for a client. Our typical drawing setup is the base drawing file, surrounded by our Xref'ed border. On said border Xref, we have all the information that does not change between drawings (Revision history, address of job site, etc). The only things that change - and, thus, are not on the xref - are the title of each individual sheet and their number; in the case of these objects, they are located on the drawing file itself in the appropriate position. They are, however, the same font as the text in the Xref - "Standard". Or, at least, they're supposed to be.
The text in the base drawing file seems to be a different version of the text from the Xref - a much blockier, sharper-edged version than the Xref text. My first response was "Okay - I'll just copy/paste the text from the border into my base drawing file, and force the existing text to match the properties of the imported text."
This, however, did not work. The imported text automatically assumed the same form as the existing text. Here's a screenshot from the base drawing, illustrating this (The "Mechanical Plan" also exists on the base drawing, and not the Xref):
I copied the existing text from the base drawing (In this case, the "Mechanical Plan") and pasted it directly into the Xref itself, to see what would happen. Apparently, it wants to stay blocky:
In the latter example, I even tried to force the blocky text to assume the properties of the smooth text via MA (Match properties). I specifically need to make the text in the base drawing conform to the style that the text is assuming in the Xref - which is to say "Smooth."
I have been using Photoshop for years, and as far as color management, everything has always been pretty true to what i see on my monitor. Recently however, pictures look good in Photoshop, but when i upload them to the internet, or print them the colors are muted and have a gray cast to them. I have tried using different color proof settings based on the labs I use to print, but it always ends up the same.
I have used both sRGB and AdobeRGB on my camera, both have the same result. I don't know what changed, if I changed a setting inadvertently.
How come sometimes my foreground/background colors turn to shades of gray when I open a new canvas and I can't change them to color? Is this a glitch or a setting?
Also, sometimes after selecting an area with the lasso and going to the move tool I can't pick up the piece. I get a message that says something like the area is empty.
Lastly, how do I create a stroke (i.e. outline) around a shape?
I'm using paint bucket for fill colors and though I see and choose colors from the spectrum all I am getting is shades of gray. What happened to the colors for the foreground and background, why does it only come out shades of gray even though in picker it shows I have picked a color?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJPEG's are opening in CS6 (32 and 64) with a partial gray/white mask in place. Resizing usually makes them disappear but they shouldn't be there to begin with. OS is Win7. The files display fine in Bridge and other applications.
View 10 Replies View RelatedHopefully my title gets the point across. I've read numerous threads on here where people seem to have the same issue, but I've yet to discover a solution.
I recently bought a new pc and installed Corel Draw X5. When I export to eps and open the eps in Corel, the Pantone colors appear nearly black. This is also true for my clients, although I'm not sure what program they are using to open the eps.
It is worth mentioning that on my old PC I did not have this problem. EPS files I exported from Corel Draw X5 were fine. I could export eps files containing Pantone colors, and the Pantone colors would be there when I opened the eps file.
The settings I'm using under export to eps dialogue are the exact same settings I was using before:
Output colors as Native and PostScript 3.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and CorelDraw X5 15.2.0.695
I have a 3D drawing of a phone, and there seems to be a reflection or glare covering it and it is really annoying.
The screen portion is supposed to be white, as well as the buttons. The border of the black section is gray, as is the edge of the phone.
You can see in the attached screen cap that colors 1-9 appear as white on my screen and that colors 10-22 are not correct either. This is only occuring in one specific drawing. Is there a preference that I switched somewhere that would make this happen? I have double checked that everything is ByLayer or ByColor that I can think of. If I insert this color chart into other drawings it looks fine. using C3D 2012.
I would just restart my drawing, however it is the new company template file that I have invested many hours into and would really like to be able to keep working with it and not start over. Or is there a good way to import and overwrite all the Prospector settings into a blank drawing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing 2013 C3D. My text and linework is now gray. During opening/initializing of drawing, everything appear fine until it finishes loading, then everything is gray. It just started yesterday when I was bringing in shp files of wetlands in various ways (dragging/dropping, fdo conect and mapimport). Maybe the shp file had nothing to do with it, but I've never seen cad do this.
When I grip the line, the color in layer comes up as correct color, but the line on screen is gray. Also if I copy the multileader or line, the color reverts back to correct color until I save, exit and reopen. BTW - the only thing that isn't gray is my civil 3d pipes and structures.
why everything is turning gray??
I have have small gray shaded boxes showing up on drawings plotted in Civil 3D, they are never anywhere I can see in the drawing and they never show up in the print preview. I have tried using multiple printers and still get the same thing. I think it may have something to do with viewports as they only show up inside a viewport window when plotting from paperspace and don't show up when I plot from modelspace.

I am using Photoshop CS6 right now.
I want to display all colors except black and white as red temporarily like this.
I want to check the area I forget to paint, so I want to display those 3 colors(red, black and white.).
My layer nest is like this.
Layer 0(this contains Black line)
Group 1
[
Layer 1(red)
Layer 2(cyan)
Layer 3(green)
Layer 4(yellow)
]
White Solid color layer
And I want to make the color of layer 1,2,3 and 4 red temporarily. Adjustment layer doesn't work.
I recently bought CS4 and have noticed that everything displays differently in Photoshop than anywhere else. I can not get a pure white. Pure white looks yellow, like french vanilla ice cream.
I have tried everything I can think of to rectify this situation. I have tried changing color profiles, etc. but I obviously don't know what I'm doing, because none of the changes have any effect.
I really need to get this fixed. I have been a Photoshop user for 15 years, and throughout all the versions I've used prior to this one, everything displays properly. I am BUGGED by this, big time. Such expensive software should work right.
I am using a 22" Samsung LCD monitor, if that makes any difference.

I have successfully created my first mask in Adobe Illustrator CC. The mask is a logo with a camouflage mask in the lettering. The original camouflage is the normal green, but after the masking it only display black and while. How do i display the colors of the mask (camouflage) layer?

I now need to include an option of displaying the palette (maybe by using a method to include this in the form or by shifting the focus to the coreldraw window/palette) and then the ability for the user to pick colors from this palette (which will then be passed to the script for further processing).
For better speed i'm using coreldraw 12. All of a sudden it is showing different colors for files. A color shows up different in version 14 [ that is the correct display ] . it is incorrectly being showed in version 12. i've put up screenshots of both versions. What setting is messed up in version 12.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I place new text or line work in a file it is fine, but when I save the drawing, close it and re-open it all of the text and line work found in model space goes gray. Yet if I place new text and use the match property command on text placed previously, that is now gray, and use it on new text, the new text recieves the attributes of what the previously placed text has minus the appearance of being gray. In my drawing I am using a shape file and a data connect image through planning and analysis.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get a display error during the execution of some of the commands used in AutocadLT with Windows 7. It occurs when I choose a command along the bottom of the display area just above the command window (offset seems to be the worst offender. As soon as I choose the command, the computer locks up for a second or two then the screen goes black. Most of the time it will come back with a white screen in the rawing area and I will have to use the regen command to continue editing. it will sometimes do this numerous times before I can complete the command. (offset).
The error displayed from the task bar is:
Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7(R) stopped responding adn has successfully recovered.
I have another question about GREY images.
Example: CTRL+click on grey channel theoreticly (by my theory) make selection from white depending on its value. So cuting out must leave transparent greyscale image. But it don't (okey, it do, but changes black value):
The same selection inverted and filled with 100%K gives correct result: Is my "theory" about CTRL+click selection wrong? Becouse for my point of view, both ways should give same result.
I have a fairly simple 3D drawing made in Autocad 2012. It has 3D solids all of the same material type.
I want to import it into a 3D PDF. So far I done the following:-
- I have got Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on a free trail basis.
- Open Autocad drawing in Inventor Fusion 2013.
- Save as .step file
- In Adobe select create new PDF.
- Bring in the step file.
My problem is the 3D drawing appears in the 3D PDF but all colours are lost.
I have the following software on my machine:-
Revit Structural 2012 and 2013
Inventor Fusion 2013
Autocad 2012 and 2013
Navisworks Manage 2012 and 2013
Autocad Sketch book designer 2013
Autocad SHowcase 2013.
Is the problem when the file is 'saved as' in Inventor? Or is the problem within Adobe? I have brought in other .step files as a test and they appear normally, but the problem is I don't know what software was used to create them (the step files came externally).
PS I don't use Inventor normally, but we have it as part of the Plant 3D Suite on our machines, so I don't know if there are settings in Inventor that need to be changed.
