When I export jpegs which I changed to "black & white" in LR 4.4, and import these exported photos into a different LR 4.4 catalog, the treatment of the imported photos changes to "color".
What can I do to keep the correct treetment?
import again my photos with all the settings which i had already brought to my work. It happened that my cat walking on the keyboard changed the name of the disk where lightroom used to point. Working with Lightroom 3, mac osx 10.5.8.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'd like to import just the RAW-files from my sd-card (no jpegs). Unfortunately there is no simple way to exclude the jpegs from importing. I'm talking about importing some hundreds of photos so it's not possible to uncheck them manually. I think there has to be a way to filter the import by certain file extensions or at least sort by file extensions. Sorting by media type does not fix my problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a folder of all my photo's with my Sony NEX camera - which I have set to capture RAW+JPEG, so the folder contains a RAW and JPEG copy of each photo.
I've just started using Lightroom and run an import on that folder with 'Copy as DNG', discard duplicates, with the destination directory structure set to use photo dates. The source and destination folders are both on remote directories on my NAS.
After the import I expected to find lots of folders, ordered by date, containing just DNS files. However I find there are DNG and JPEG files for each photo.
My understanding is the standard previews and smart previews are stored locally with the LR catalog. So what are the JPEG files that have been created?
Editing a video in LR4 you can capture a frame, adjust the color, and save a preset to apply to other videos. BUT the frame capture is a jpg so you can't specify a color temperature; you hve to use the slider(s) and cross your fingers. I have two consecutive videos, one shot with AWB and the other set to Shade. I need to adjust the AWB shot (very cool) to match the Shade shot (very warm). There are so many sliders, I can't even get close to matching them.

I understand that sRGB is more for web applications, and that Adobe RGB 1998 has a wider gamut, and that ProPhoto has the widest gamut of colors, particularly useful with printing.
However, in LR 4, when I export to jpeg as sRGB, Adobe RGB, and ProPhoto, the differences are very noticeable. sRGB looks the most vibrant, Adobe RGB looks flat, and ProPhoto looks dark with a greenish cast. I expected ProPhoto to look best, or is that only for printing, and I have to process differently?
how to fix the color on this photo. I have several more like it. They are scanned from photos that were developed from damaged film. On the photos where the entire image is yellowed I have no problem correcting the color, but I'm not quite sure how to make a selection on photos like these and then match the color to the other half..I am using cs5.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI loaded some folders with my pictures. In Lightroom I developed some of it, others I did not. Now I want to export only those pictures which I developed. I know, I can manually select at the bottom line all pictures showing a +/- sign and the export them. This is quite a lot of work with my 800 pictures. Is it possible to tell Lightroom that it just selects and exports the developed pictures?

All my new exported files are the same as the original. I need a detailed discription of what boxes need to be checked or unchecked and where to find them. Something as simple as saving changes so that I might use them in another app should not be so difficult- version 2.7 worked fine so what's up with 4.1?

I edited a batch of photos, exported them and .xmp files were created in Lightroom Export folder.
Later copied the .xmp files out of the Export and and pasted them into the main folder of the cr2 files.
When I opened LR again, there was a prompt and I messed with it. The result now is that the developed settings are the defaults instead of the unedited/tweaked photos.
I recently moved all my pictures developped with LR from my D DRive to an external one. But I guess I did it the wrong way (just searchimng for the files and moving them away). Then I imported again all my catalogs, but most of the pictures are "seen" AS DUPLICATE by LR and do not allow me any action on them. How can I fix it within deleting all the lrcat (libraries where all the changes done in the pictures are kept)?

When I drag the developed photo to external applications (Gmail in the browser, for example), Lightroom gives me the original photo, not the developed one, even though I can't see the original.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up auto importing by tethered shooting with a Canon 1Ds (but don't think brand and camera matter.)
I never use DNG, and am not aware of, and after a lot of searching, cannot find anywhere in the LR4.3 preferences at which I specified DNG conversion. In the Auto0Import dialog there is a File-handling tab that offers one choice: how to spell the dng suffix. The files I want to import will come in as CR2., and testing this with other folder destinations and with Canon's EOS Utility prove that the camera is "sending" CR2 files.
I do not want to re-develop 1000+ photos in lightroom.
Cleaning up my photo directory, i started consolidating and moving folders around in my HDD. However in doing so, I also accidently removed one of the 'catalog folder' in my Lightroom (so the original photos are still there in the physical folder, but i can't see it anymore in Lightroom). Now if I try to import the folder back into Lightroom, all my developed settings are lost (i.e. everything reverts back to the original settings).
I tried using the Find Missing Photos function and the Sychronize Folder function, both does not work with my problem. Unfortunately, my catalog backup is also a week old, so that wouldn't have my recently developed settings?
Any way to retrieve the removed catalog folder with all the previously developed settings?
Cant find a way to import about 400 jpeg images on a DVD(not protected) into the library of VSX5.I have tried various options from the DVD or a folder on the hard drive that also contains the images. I hope to get them showing on the project as a slideshow at the end. If and when I do import them into the project they will need to be resized in the overlay track by dragging to keep the aspect ratio. There are landscape and portrait pics.Can I group them together in ie landscape order and then apply attributes to all to avoid having to do this individually, if so how
View 7 Replies View RelatedEverywhere else the GIFs view as intended but when I import to GIMP some of the GIFs change color. Are GIF animations limited in the colors that can be displayed compared to normal (non-animated) GIFs?
A test animation is attatched, but many of the colors are wrong often the colors are changed to white by gimp.
I set custom white balance for a lot of my photos (I'm a nightclub photographer) as sometimes the colours are so saturated the image becomes unusable. Unfortunately in Lightroom 4 the photos import with the correct WB I have set but when I click on them to develop the settings are changed and the image looks completely awful. I try and adjust the image back to the way I have taken it but it never looks the same....why is Lighroom not recognising the WB settings I set within my 5D?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've occasionally created some tone-mapped pictures from multiple exposure brackets using the Luminance HDR program. But when I import the jpegs exported from Luminance to Xara, their Red and Blue channels appear to get swapped.
I can fix it by using a Live Effect. But why does this happen? Is there a way to losslessly avoid this before importing to Xara? Because Live Effects impose their own resolution limitations on the image.
Imported my 25,000+ photos, all jpegs, into Organizer. 731 were listed as not imported because they were in a format PS11 did not recognise. Checked out a few of them. They can be read by Picasa and Windows Explorer. They can print to my printer. Tried to import two of the missing 731 but got same message. Should I just stay with Picasa as my Organizer?

It's the same format as I have imported many times before .MTS (light) 1280 x 720). I can play the video in the camera OK. I can play the video in Windows 7 OK. When I select the clips that I want to import from PSE 10 I see the thumbnails, select those I want press the button & a few minutes it just says import failed with no explication given. I have even selected the pictures from the cards video file & tries cut & paste but nothing happens.I'm running windows 7 pro 64 bit.
View 2 Replies View Relatedim having problems with saving my tiff files and converting. once i convert them to jpegs to email or go to the printers, they are changed and are washed out as if the org tiff before editing. when i open on my comp they are ok but when emailed to someone or once printed are destroyed. i dont think is my colour management as org jpegs files are fine. below are some details of the process.
i open my file (pro photo RGB, 16bit, 3888x2592 10.1MP) i edit the photo. if saving in jpeg i change to 8bit and save with the embedded colour profile button clicked.
