Imported my 25,000+ photos, all jpegs, into Organizer. 731 were listed as not imported because they were in a format PS11 did not recognise. Checked out a few of them. They can be read by Picasa and Windows Explorer. They can print to my printer. Tried to import two of the missing 731 but got same message. Should I just stay with Picasa as my Organizer?
View 1 RepliesI took many jpeg's & a few video's on my camera the other day. All jpeg's all imported OK but the video didn't. It's the same format as I have imported many times before .MTS (light) 1280 x 720). I can play the video in the camera OK. I can play the video in Windows 7 OK. When I select the clips that I want to import from PSE 10 I see the thumbnails, select those I want press the button & a few minutes it just says import failed with no explication given. I have even selected the pictures from the cards video file & tries cut & paste but nothing happens.I'm running windows 7 pro 64 bit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly large number of photos with face tag metadata. Since Adobe is part of the working group that developed the XMP metadata standard, imagine my surprise to find out that Photoshop Elements 11 doesn't use it!
Is there any external program to import face tag metadata into the organizer? I used Windows Photo Gallery to do the face tagging and it properly writes the metadata to the XMP fields. Problem is the photoshop organizer doesn't read the XMP fields! It's using it's own standard(?)
We are talking thousands of photos here so re-tagging is just not an option. Is there a way to get photoshop to import the tags and regions?

But I'm missing two options in this tool. The first is to make sub-folders with the capture-date without spaces between the date (spaces are still problems for some programs). The second option is a second location where the data is copied for backup. I've looked at the image properties and they look fine (just as fine as images that are able to be imported). Is there anything that can be done? View 9 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded and started using PSE 12 Editor and Organizer about a week ago. (An upgrade fron PSE11). Today for whatever reason, when trying to import any file, say from my desktop or a download foler, the list of locations to import appears for a second, then disappears. I am unable to do any other action and have to quit or force quit. In PSE Editor, I am able to open a file, but when trying to save it, I get an error that "Could not complete your request due to a Program Error". I use a Mac and just recently upgraded to OS Maverick. I also tried using PSE 11 and run into the same problem.

Unfortunately PE 11 Organizer doesn't seem to see those on import? Any suggestions on how to make that happen? By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.

I hope to get them showing on the project as a slideshow at the end.
