I have been trying to import jpgs from my pc into the organizer. I have met with some success but cannot figure out why it will import some jpgs and not others?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly large number of photos with face tag metadata. Since Adobe is part of the working group that developed the XMP metadata standard, imagine my surprise to find out that Photoshop Elements 11 doesn't use it!
Is there any external program to import face tag metadata into the organizer? I used Windows Photo Gallery to do the face tagging and it properly writes the metadata to the XMP fields. Problem is the photoshop organizer doesn't read the XMP fields! It's using it's own standard(?)
We are talking thousands of photos here so re-tagging is just not an option. Is there a way to get photoshop to import the tags and regions?
I have labeled folders in iPhoto. How do I import those folders into the Organizer of Elements 11?

They can be read by Picasa and Windows Explorer. They can print to my printer. Tried to import two of the missing 731 but got same message. Should I just stay with Picasa as my Organizer?

But I'm missing two options in this tool. The first is to make sub-folders with the capture-date without spaces between the date (spaces are still problems for some programs). The second option is a second location where the data is copied for backup. Is there a possibility to do this two options with the program or can you make an update in the future that include this two options.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to build my first catalog and keep getting an Import Failed on certain files. These are .jpg images and can be opend outsid eof PSE 12 just fine. I've looked at the image properties and they look fine (just as fine as images that are able to be imported). Is there anything that can be done? I'm trying to move off of Picasa and these images have been imported just fine into Picasa.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded and started using PSE 12 Editor and Organizer about a week ago. (An upgrade fron PSE11). Today for whatever reason, when trying to import any file, say from my desktop or a download foler, the list of locations to import appears for a second, then disappears. I am unable to do any other action and have to quit or force quit. In PSE Editor, I am able to open a file, but when trying to save it, I get an error that "Could not complete your request due to a Program Error". I use a Mac and just recently upgraded to OS Maverick. I also tried using PSE 11 and run into the same problem.

Unfortunately PE 11 Organizer doesn't seem to see those on import? Any suggestions on how to make that happen? View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently created a new catalog and imported all of my files into Lightroom. All my files seemed to come over, including the .jpg files. I then opened a cr2 file in LR and took it to Photoshop for editing. I saved the psd file and it appeared in my library as I expected. I then did a save as to create 3 different jpg files: filename 4x6.jpg, filename 3x5.jpg and filename 5x7.jpg.
None of these three jpgs came back to LR. So I tried to import them. When I click on the "new" option to import only the new files, these three jpgs do not even show up.
One final note, the box for "treat jpg files next to raw files as seperate files" is checked.how I can get LR to include my jpgs in my library?
I had outsourced some edits, and they sent some back via xmp, and others that were outside LR as JPG. As usual, the xmp files worked great. I had created a subfolder in one of my collections to add the jpg edits, and LR will not allow me to import!

By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using PE9. Every time I go to the Organizer (even after switching to another program briefly) the Update box appears, searching Watched Folders for new pics. It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.
