With previous versions of Lightroom (pre v4.x), when I would plug in a memory card with photos LR would automatically switch to the import screen. This seemed to stop at v4. I can't seem to find a way to make that happen automatically under v4. how to make LR automatically switch to the import screen when a memory card is connected?

Have just downloaded LR4 to C drive on windows 7 home premium, all photos and folders are there but, folders in library are shown as being in Y drive which was on a computer I have recently replaced, so when I put them into develop it says " missing folder, path does not exist" The images are on external F drive, Also I thought that LR4 would merge with existing LR2 so now I have two LR programs on my C drive, is this how it should be ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just switched from PC to MAC and have troubles using the PC catalogues, or better: associating the images.
I copied the catalogue as well as the images to the MAC harddisk. When I open the catalogue I see the images, but they cannot be found on the disk. So I search on the harddisk for the new path but after finding it I get an error message "Die Datei "xxx.CR2" ist mit einem anderen Foto im Katalog verbunden." In English something like "The file "xxx.CR2" is associated/connected with a different photo in the catalogue."
when i make my brush size very small (to the point that its only like 4pixels dot on the screen), a crosshair symbol automatically appears around it which makes it hard to see the cursor's surroundings when working on small details without zooming in alot (which would make a 4px cursor appear bigger thus losing the crosshair again). I guess this feature is there for people that might have trouble locating small cursors, but on a large tablet that allows very fast work without having to zoom in much, this makes things harder. Is there a way to disable this or modify some files or "hack" the cursor icons somehow and delete it?
(Tried all possible combinations of the PS prefferences but none of it seemed to be related to the cursor becoming a crosshair once the brush size gets very small relative to screenresolution)
My need is to create up to 50 points from the same origin in a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system but I’d also like to have a labels for each point that show up in the feature tree.
Are there Inventor 2013 plugin (i.e., add-on, 3rd party, AP) to convert a list 3D Cartesian coordinate system locations (i.e., points) to Inventor to work points(x, y, z)?
I found that I cannot create 3D points in the assembly. Is this correct? I did find that an Inventor part may be used to create a 3D sketch that creates points in 3D space. In the past few days, I found two ways to create 3D points within a iPRT; the batch way uses an Excel file but it then does not allow me to name the points in the feature tree. The second way is to create them one at a time but that take way too much time.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am UNABLE to follow a tutorial on how to make a repeatable pattern using 'texture transfer' on some fire I want to make into a pattern!!! every time I select the area I want to use and the 'input map' and paste as new image and I tell Resynthesizer to use that image it ALWAYS errors out as "The Input Map Should Be The Same Size As The Input Texture Image" according to the tutorial another person gave me on this forum he said NOTHING about being the same size!!! in fact, his selection was SMALLER than the actual image that he was using Resynthesizer on!!!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using corel x3 a long time but never, never had this kind of problem. When i work in corel enviorenment after i have finished my work i go to save my work. But then is the problem It Saves the file with Large Memory on it. let's say if the file normally would be 200 K, now it saves with 3 MB. And if i import some other files in my work then the saved file will be even bigger. If i Delete the files that were imported The Saved File will be Again the same SIZE ! Even if a take one part of the file, let's say if i import only one small text and put it in another file and save it like that, the saved file will be 2 MB. I had a lots of problems, i had saved files on this way with 23-24 MB and when i open them it takes like forever. When you look that file in corel it has nohing in it, absolutely nothing that should be 24 MB. But all of my important work is in that files how to make all things back to normal again,
View 9 Replies View RelatedI do have problem with my newly installed CorelDraw X5. Before X5 we used Corel 12 in our company.
I have project file (150 MB) with lots of text, bitmaps, vectors - about 100 pages. File opens but I can't save it. I always get OUT OF MEMORY error. I even tried to divide this file into 2 smaller parts but still doesn't work.
What I noticed - Corel X5 after clean start (without opened project) takes about 80MB of RAM in task manager. When I open project usage changes from 80MB to 1,2GB. While saving it takes 1,6GB of RAM and it crashes.
To compare - Corel 12 and after opening same project file Corel 12 takes much less of memory - about 770MB and it works without problem.
Where from comes this memory usage difference?

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded LR 5 and noticed that I cannot jump back from a Publish Service folder preview to a different folder preview in grid mode. The only way to view photos in another folder is to restart LR 5. This only happens when I am viewing photos in a Publish Service such as Flickr.
I updated from LR 4 using Creative Cloud installer.
Was working on a Tiff file which started fine then my LR3.6 started to slow down more and more the more work i did. Now it wont operate at all. I increased the RAW cache from 1 to 5GB even though I had only imported 1.5GB of new pics. My laptop is a DELL XPS running Windows Vista with CORE 2 DUO T9300 2.50GHZ, 4GB of RAM and 12GB of available hard drive space but LR System info says it is running at 170% of memory available. I have closed all applications other than LR. What do I do?

- Insert the value directly into the GPS field on the image (in map mode). It is pretty hard. In fact, I try to copy/paste value but I failed. I wish to be able to simply add manually GPS data to a picture.
- Move the map to a point giving llatitude, longitude. Maybe add a field close to "search".
I am making a small square book in the book module. The book only has 40 pages and therefore the spine is pretty narrow. In the cover template, the spine does show up but I am unable to click into it, where normally on other books, a yellow box appears to input the text.
I wonder if this is not happening because the spine may be too small for text. Although I did make the text in Photoshop and added it to the cover as a Background graphic. The two issues with that is that it takes much too long to tweak it, and since it's JPEG file, I am sure it won't be as sharp as text typed into LR directly. I will be making several books this size and I would prefer having it be simple and just within LightRoom
I am running 1.4 on a reasonably well endowed PC. Last week Lightroom starting consuming all memory. With nothing else running it takes 1.8GB or the 2.0 installed and the system starts thrashing like crazy. Once it has reached the max the cropping function fails, image display becomes painfully slow, and loading Photoshop is totally impossible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLightroom 5 on Windows 7 32 Bit and 8 Gigabytes of memory (more than the 32 Bit system can use) permanently runs out of memory when doing some more complex edits on a RAW file, especially when exporting to 16 Bit TIFF. The RAW files were created by cameras with 10 up to 16 megapixel sensors with bit depths between 12 and 14.
After exporting one or two images to 16 Bit uncompressed TIFF an error message "Not enough memory" will be displayed and only a Lightroom restart solves that - for the next one to two exports. If an image has much brush stroke edits, every additional stroke takes more and more time to see the result until the image disappears followed by the same "Not enough memory" error message.
A tab character in the XMP sidecar file is *not* the reason (ensured that), as mentioned in a post. It seems that Lightroom in general does not allocate enough memory and frees too less/late allocated.
fix that bug, it's not productive permanently quit and restart Lightroom when editing/exporting a few RAW files. Versions prior to Lightroom 4 did not have that bug.
My Lightroom 4 on a Mac has stopped importing from a memory card. It used to do so, but now it hangs up and never actually imports the photos. If I save the photos from the card to a folder on my desktop, it works just fine. I have tried several different memory cards at different speeds, sizes, fullness, and it doesn't seem to matter. What can I do to go back to importing directly from the memory card?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I import images from my memory card, the images in preview are colored but when rendered in LR4, they are automatically converted to black and white. I made sure that in the import panel that 'Import During Import'> Develop Settings> None. My images show up in LR4 colored for an instance then convert to black and white. This is the first time I have encountered this problem. Am I missing something. I've checked my camera settings with nothing that I believe is the problem. I've been successful in using the other presets under 'Apply during Import' > Develop Settings, but using 'None' doesn't prevent the images from being converted to black and white in LR4. the same is true for importing to Bridge in PS-CS6. I get the same results of all the images being converted to black and white.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDiscovered that my main drive's memory was extremely low. I use all external drives for storage & backups, so only programs & program files are on my 500GB C: drive. I've found this "Lightroom Data" folder is consuming 318GB of memory!! I found LR is currently references the catalog "2007 lightroom-2-2". I backup & optimize each time I finish another session.
I don't know what is important in this Lightroom Data folder and what can be dumped in here. I'm posting a screen shot.

I normally choose to "Move" images from my memory card to a hard drive folder when importing into Lightroom so that the card is then clear to use again. I cannot think of any settings I have changed Lightroom no longer gives me the option to move or add from a card. Is this an undocumented "Feature" of v3.3
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded lightroom 5.4 the other day and today was the first time I went to download images with it.
I could review all my images before I plugged my card into the card reader and attempted to download them, when I opened the import window in lightroom the first image on the card had a preview, but it was greyed out and the rest of the images came up with the .CR2 icon and when I tried to import them I got an error message saying that the files cannot be read.
I tried ejecting the card and putting it back in my camera, but now I can't see the images on my camera either or save them manually to my hard drive.
The files are from a Canon 5D mk II and I shot all the images in RAW with no JPG's.
