I am running 1.4 on a reasonably well endowed PC. Last week Lightroom starting consuming all memory. With nothing else running it takes 1.8GB or the 2.0 installed and the system starts thrashing like crazy. Once it has reached the max the cropping function fails, image display becomes painfully slow, and loading Photoshop is totally impossible.
View 2 RepliesI'm running Photoshop CS4 on my HP qouad core 2.4Ghz, 4GB of RAM, and 10K RPM 150GB hard drive. For some reason Photoshop is really slow e.g. zoom in and out. Just by having Photoshop open, the CPU usage is above 30% all the time. Is this normal?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using corel x3 a long time but never, never had this kind of problem. When i work in corel enviorenment after i have finished my work i go to save my work. But then is the problem It Saves the file with Large Memory on it. let's say if the file normally would be 200 K, now it saves with 3 MB. And if i import some other files in my work then the saved file will be even bigger. If i Delete the files that were imported The Saved File will be Again the same SIZE ! Even if a take one part of the file, let's say if i import only one small text and put it in another file and save it like that, the saved file will be 2 MB. I had a lots of problems, i had saved files on this way with 23-24 MB and when i open them it takes like forever. When you look that file in corel it has nohing in it, absolutely nothing that should be 24 MB. But all of my important work is in that files how to make all things back to normal again,
View 9 Replies View RelatedI do have problem with my newly installed CorelDraw X5. Before X5 we used Corel 12 in our company.
I have project file (150 MB) with lots of text, bitmaps, vectors - about 100 pages. File opens but I can't save it. I always get OUT OF MEMORY error. I even tried to divide this file into 2 smaller parts but still doesn't work.
What I noticed - Corel X5 after clean start (without opened project) takes about 80MB of RAM in task manager. When I open project usage changes from 80MB to 1,2GB. While saving it takes 1,6GB of RAM and it crashes.
To compare - Corel 12 and after opening same project file Corel 12 takes much less of memory - about 770MB and it works without problem.
Where from comes this memory usage difference?

Was working on a Tiff file which started fine then my LR3.6 started to slow down more and more the more work i did. Now it wont operate at all. I increased the RAW cache from 1 to 5GB even though I had only imported 1.5GB of new pics. My laptop is a DELL XPS running Windows Vista with CORE 2 DUO T9300 2.50GHZ, 4GB of RAM and 12GB of available hard drive space but LR System info says it is running at 170% of memory available. I have closed all applications other than LR. What do I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLightroom 5 on Windows 7 32 Bit and 8 Gigabytes of memory (more than the 32 Bit system can use) permanently runs out of memory when doing some more complex edits on a RAW file, especially when exporting to 16 Bit TIFF. The RAW files were created by cameras with 10 up to 16 megapixel sensors with bit depths between 12 and 14.
After exporting one or two images to 16 Bit uncompressed TIFF an error message "Not enough memory" will be displayed and only a Lightroom restart solves that - for the next one to two exports. If an image has much brush stroke edits, every additional stroke takes more and more time to see the result until the image disappears followed by the same "Not enough memory" error message.
A tab character in the XMP sidecar file is *not* the reason (ensured that), as mentioned in a post. It seems that Lightroom in general does not allocate enough memory and frees too less/late allocated.
fix that bug, it's not productive permanently quit and restart Lightroom when editing/exporting a few RAW files. Versions prior to Lightroom 4 did not have that bug.
My Lightroom 4 on a Mac has stopped importing from a memory card. It used to do so, but now it hangs up and never actually imports the photos. If I save the photos from the card to a folder on my desktop, it works just fine. I have tried several different memory cards at different speeds, sizes, fullness, and it doesn't seem to matter. What can I do to go back to importing directly from the memory card?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I import images from my memory card, the images in preview are colored but when rendered in LR4, they are automatically converted to black and white. I made sure that in the import panel that 'Import During Import'> Develop Settings> None. My images show up in LR4 colored for an instance then convert to black and white. This is the first time I have encountered this problem. Am I missing something. I've checked my camera settings with nothing that I believe is the problem. I've been successful in using the other presets under 'Apply during Import' > Develop Settings, but using 'None' doesn't prevent the images from being converted to black and white in LR4. the same is true for importing to Bridge in PS-CS6. I get the same results of all the images being converted to black and white.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDiscovered that my main drive's memory was extremely low. I use all external drives for storage & backups, so only programs & program files are on my 500GB C: drive. I've found this "Lightroom Data" folder is consuming 318GB of memory!! I found LR is currently references the catalog "2007 lightroom-2-2". I backup & optimize each time I finish another session.
I don't know what is important in this Lightroom Data folder and what can be dumped in here. I'm posting a screen shot.

I have LR 3.5 64-bit on Windows 7.
I normally choose to "Move" images from my memory card to a hard drive folder when importing into Lightroom so that the card is then clear to use again. I cannot think of any settings I have changed Lightroom no longer gives me the option to move or add from a card. Is this an undocumented "Feature" of v3.3
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded lightroom 5.4 the other day and today was the first time I went to download images with it.
I could review all my images before I plugged my card into the card reader and attempted to download them, when I opened the import window in lightroom the first image on the card had a preview, but it was greyed out and the rest of the images came up with the .CR2 icon and when I tried to import them I got an error message saying that the files cannot be read.
I tried ejecting the card and putting it back in my camera, but now I can't see the images on my camera either or save them manually to my hard drive.
The files are from a Canon 5D mk II and I shot all the images in RAW with no JPG's.
I'm using LR 4.2 and trying to export to PS CS6 on my Win 7 Asus 4gb laptop with 45gb free space on my hard drive.
I have made substantial edits to a raw file in LR and am attempting to export it to PS for final edits (cloning out extraneous features) at 16cm and 150 ppi (less than ideal but still too large). The working file is 73 mb.
However, I am getting an unsufficient memory error when trying this on Tif or Psd, even Jpg. I can get it to export as original, which gives me a DNG but then I get the same lack of memory issue when trying to open it in Photoshop.
What I can do is open the working DNG file in Photoshop but then only some of my adjustments come through - all the noise removal I have done has gone and the image is very noisy in PS. I can also convert it to Tiff using VSO Image Resizer and open this in PS but again, the noise is there.
The image is to be used as the cover photo on an A4 magazine so needs to be of print-quality.

I am using Windows 7 32-bit with 4GB memory, SSD System drive, and Radeon 7700 Graphics card. For Virtual memory, I set "no paging file" on C drive and "system managed size" on another SSD drive.
It seems as if there is no rhyme of reason as to how the import process presents the previews to select for import. I did s shoot last night and the images are spread out over different areas between other photos that I took in the past. Shouldn't they just be sorted by image name so they are presented together?

Now I want to have a backup of the image file on the memory card additionally to downloading it. The tethering software digiCamControl can do this with my camera, so it is technically possible.
So how can I achieve this using Lightroom tethering?
Just upgraded to 32gigs vs the 16 I had and it's working, tested with system reporting programs, etc. And They all show the 32gigs of memory. Went into PS to preferences to change memory usage by PS and it still only shows 14769 of available memory.
Do I need to reinstall PS or what to get it to see the new memory total?

I have an HP Pavilion 730. I have purchased the upgrade to CS4 and it has been working for a while. Now all of a sudden, when I open the program, the computer goes "boink" and a message comes up that says:
The instruction at "Ox77e78804" referenced memory at "0x0at1a1470". The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate or click cancel to debug program. No matter which one I do, it shuts down CS4 totally?
