Unable to see the lines of the Graduated filter tool or the outlne and handles of the new Radial filter tool. They were visible when I first installed Lr5 and used them on several photos
View 4 RepliesAll of a sudden, when I use my graduated filter while I am developing, it does not have any effect. I can see the lines, it appears to be working, but If I try and adjust the exposure, it does the whole photo, not just the section that I am trying to filter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm trying to use the graduated filter tool in 3.5 I don't end up with the lines or the marker to adjust it after I've applied it, the line and marker don't show up while I'm applying the filter and aren't there afterward either. Is there some place I need to select that as how it's shown? Also, I have a windows 7 laptop that meets the requirements for running lightroom but I'm having trouble with it not running very fluid-ly. That is if I move a slider to make an adjustment it doesn't apply it while I'm doing that it takes quite a few seconds and then applies it, which leaves me really all over the place trying to make fine little adjustments. It takes it's time to load photos and such which really isn't a big deal to me but for the little movements of the sliders or the curves I really would like to see what it's doing as it's doing it. If I had a more powerful laptop (or desktop but at this stage of my life I prefer laptop) would that improve that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI scanned an old, somewhat degraded photo, The horizontal center (i.e., top to bottom between left/right edges) is faded, getting better towards the left/right edges.
Is there a way to apply a graduated filter so that I can increase make adjustments to the center, fading out towards the right AND the left? That is, the effect normally graduates towards an edge; I want it to be strongest in the center and fade towards both edges.
When I make changes to a raw file using the graduated filter and then edit the photo in photoshop the graduated filter changes do not carry over to photoshop but all the other changes do. Whats up?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf you see the face iv used a smooth brush and its bringing out all these noise spots. If i try to darken a background its totally unusable. Iv never had these presets and brushes do this but the last 2 sessions iv had massive issues, Its happening on pics which i wouldnt think would have issues and have never had issues before. Lightroom 4 had none of these problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is a weird one, but I am new to lightroom. I have these pins on my image, which are all grey, and when I click on them, they jump to another image. I can't seem to figure out what is happening here.. I think they were created when I add a graduated filter,,,
I cannot delete them because when I click on them they jump to a diffeferent image... It's super annoying trying to add graduated filters when you keep jumping to a different image...
The problem I have is with the graduated filter in the develop module of LR 4.1.
I have installed CS6 and LR4.1 on both my new Macbook Pro and Mac Pro.
When using the Macbook Pro the the pin marker appears as it should.
On the Mac Pro no pin marker appears but the rest of the action is performed.
I pasted the same graduated filter arrangement into several hundred action photos. I then slog through them in capture order, nudging them one way or another depending on crop and subject. On the next photo, the first time I click and drag --the filter NEVER moves! I must release and reclick to get it to move. This becomes highly annoying after a while. Enough so to write this.

I've been seeing screenshots all over the place of Lightroom 5 that displays a number of tools under the Radial Filter, including one for moire. That's a big part of why I decided to join Creative Cloud, but in my version of Lightroom 5, there is no such tool.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using the trial of LR5. I have made some adjustments with the Radial Filter. When "opening as a smart object in CS5," the radial filter adjustments do NOT show up. Crop does, basic exposure adjustments, but no radial filter.
Would it show up in CS6? I do not want to go to CC.
encountering a problem with radial filter when sync it to multiple images? I am getting a different dimention and position every time I sync or press previous. For the rest of the settings are remaing the same.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am able to create radial filter in LR 5, then move it to the edge, then move it outside the photo. Then its center is not visible in workspace at all. How can I access it again?
Graduated filter works ok, its center is always inside the workspace.
Suddenly while working on may images in LR5, doing all the usual with Development module I've realised that Radial filter effect is not being exported to CS5; all others ark: healing, spotting, grad filter, and brushes are ok.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using the radial filter with no problems.Now it will not display the circle or ellipse. it seems to be working as when I try to do the circle and it will not show but if I change the exposure or any of the setting it does do that.
Have I accidently changed something or a setting to cause this .
I have read all the previous posts about this, and taken all steps. Running WIn7, 64 bit, my video card is 512Mb, drivers are up to date, PS is up to date, I restarted and stil no handles appear in the Lighting Effects filter.

I remember using Slice in the past, but I can't remember if it was before upgrading to Gimp 2.8. Now, there are only 2 items (Image Map and Semi-Flatten) under the Filters/Web menu. Slice isn't there.
In older versions of Photoshop there was a very beautiful filter - low pass.
It could make blurry effect to picture. I liked so much to use it on my nature photos.
It was situated in Filters --> Sharpen (if i don`t mistake)
Where is it now? Why it`s not present in new versions of Photoshop (CS and CS2 don`t have it)?
I dont have it in my custom shapes and was wondering if i would be able to download it from some where.... anybody know where? need the radial blur like in this background.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy decor filter has disappeared from the filters menu. Was using it yesterday, no problem. Today, it's just gone. I have uninstalled Gimp and reinstalled it several times and that does not work.
The version I am using is 2.8.4 and I have a PC with Windows 7. I have been using the program for the last two months with no problems and the more I use the more I like it.
Just to add the issue, I installed Gimp 2.8.4 on my wife's computer, and the filter is there.
I'm using Lightroom 4.4 on Mac.
Having an issue where all brushes and graduated filters are adding a warm yellow tint, no matter what the color settings are for the brush. The tint persists, even if I convert the image to B&W within Lightroom.
I'm playing with the 3D tools in Photoshop CS5 Extended for a friend. He provided an .obj file of a tool part and it opens just fine as a complex, shaded object.
Question: Is there a way to generate simple outlines of the object and export those outlines as paths to Illustrator?
When I first installed LR5 I was able to copy Radial Filters by holding down the Alt key and moving the filter round. I could copy the filter as much as I wanted. However this action now just moves rather than copies the filter. Using AltGr does it but with reduced effect so pretty useless.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCurrently when I use the gradient tool I have no way of gettng back into the individual gradients that I have created - the little clickable circles that used to show up on the image have gone! Have tried everything I know about without reinstalling the software as Im scared of damaging/ loosing my catalogues and settings. Before you ask, yes I am in the gradient tool - the adjustments panel is viewable and apart from invisible handles seems to work as usual.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a random question. I have a layer that I want to set in front of a background image, and I want the edges of the top layer to be transparent. However, I don't want it in some kind of blocky, obvious way. Something more like an outer/inner glow to where it's smooth and gradual, but transparent instead of with a color. I sidestepped the issue once before by giving the layer a white inner glow and making the background white as well so that it LOOKED like the desired effect, but now I can't really cheat like that.

1. I have two lines, they represent a winding footpath of varying width, I would like to create a centre line between the two (not just eyeball it in)
2. I would like the centre line to be graduated every 5m, with parallel lines that join/cross the shoulder lines
If the first task proves to difficult don't worry about it, I just need to know how to graduate the lines.
I thought of using the divide tool, but it divides the line into equal segments, can I nominate how long those segments are
I have been using the Niksoftware suite sucsessfully with LR4 for over six months now on Lion OS. Tonight for some reason when I came to edit an image they were no longer in the "edit in" command when I right click, only Viveza is there.
I have tried to activate them in the pluggin manager but they are shaded out so I am unable to.
In the preferences I am only able to open/select on of the pluggins as my "external editor" I have selected all individually and they all work fine so no issues there. They are also still in my applications folder and open when selected there too so I am totally puzzled as to why they were in the command last night and for the last six months but not tonight when I have changed no settings at all. Interestingly enough my watermark also dissappeared and I had to remake that, is there a reason for this?
To make matters a little more interesting I have to give a bride her images on Monday so need a fully functional suite of software this weekend.
