The problem I have is with the graduated filter in the develop module of LR 4.1.
I have installed CS6 and LR4.1 on both my new Macbook Pro and Mac Pro.
When using the Macbook Pro the the pin marker appears as it should.
On the Mac Pro no pin marker appears but the rest of the action is performed.
I have several raw images that were imported directly from the memory card into LR5 as DNG files. They look fine in the Library mode - both in Grid and Loupe view, but when they are opened into the Develop module they have gray and pink boxes as if information is missing and I get an error message saying "image appears to be damaged".
Is it really damaged or is there a way to resolve this? When I look at the file itself through Finder it shows the damage, so I'm thinking it's damaged but somehow the previews aren't?
Just want to understand before I import again or start editing only to lose more pictures. Is it a bug?
We recently installed extra RAM only to find out it wasn't compatible with the Mac. We have the correct RAM in there now, but I don't know if I should uninstall and reinstall LR5 or if it should now be fine with the new RAM or if it's totally unrelated to the RAM.
I often shoot with 2 cameras to save me changing lenses fequently. However, after I've uploaded my images into LR3 and switch to the 'Develop' module, the images are mixed up (I assume they are ordered by time taken.) How can I filter them by camera model in the image strip at the base of the module? Also, how does the 'Camera Info' option filter? And can it be set?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, when I use my graduated filter while I am developing, it does not have any effect. I can see the lines, it appears to be working, but If I try and adjust the exposure, it does the whole photo, not just the section that I am trying to filter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm trying to use the graduated filter tool in 3.5 I don't end up with the lines or the marker to adjust it after I've applied it, the line and marker don't show up while I'm applying the filter and aren't there afterward either. Is there some place I need to select that as how it's shown? Also, I have a windows 7 laptop that meets the requirements for running lightroom but I'm having trouble with it not running very fluid-ly. That is if I move a slider to make an adjustment it doesn't apply it while I'm doing that it takes quite a few seconds and then applies it, which leaves me really all over the place trying to make fine little adjustments. It takes it's time to load photos and such which really isn't a big deal to me but for the little movements of the sliders or the curves I really would like to see what it's doing as it's doing it. If I had a more powerful laptop (or desktop but at this stage of my life I prefer laptop) would that improve that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI scanned an old, somewhat degraded photo, The horizontal center (i.e., top to bottom between left/right edges) is faded, getting better towards the left/right edges.
Is there a way to apply a graduated filter so that I can increase make adjustments to the center, fading out towards the right AND the left? That is, the effect normally graduates towards an edge; I want it to be strongest in the center and fade towards both edges.
When I make changes to a raw file using the graduated filter and then edit the photo in photoshop the graduated filter changes do not carry over to photoshop but all the other changes do. Whats up?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf you see the face iv used a smooth brush and its bringing out all these noise spots. If i try to darken a background its totally unusable. Iv never had these presets and brushes do this but the last 2 sessions iv had massive issues, Its happening on pics which i wouldnt think would have issues and have never had issues before. Lightroom 4 had none of these problems.

I cannot delete them because when I click on them they jump to a diffeferent image... It's super annoying trying to add graduated filters when you keep jumping to a different image...
The main develop module controls have disappeared from the develop window. How do I recover them? I'm working with Lightroom 5.3. The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).

I then slog through them in capture order, nudging them one way or another depending on crop and subject. On the next photo, the first time I click and drag --the filter NEVER moves! I must release and reclick to get it to move. This becomes highly annoying after a while. Enough so to write this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason images in the library module aren’t as sharp compared to the develop module. If I’m in develop images are nice and sharp but as soon as I select the library you can see the image quality drop and image becomes less blurry!
View 4 Replies View RelatedSharpening applied in develop module is not shown when switching back to library module. It looks the problem occurs when having size to "FIT". With 1:1 there seams to be no issue. Export also looks fine in 1:1.
I use Mac 10.9.1, LR5.3, Nikon NEF 24Mbit from D600.
I hope this is a way to get support from Adobe.

I'm using the last version of Lightroom (3.6 if I'm not wrong) and I'm facing a very uncomfortable issue with the Develop module.
I adjusted precisely every color luminance and saturation so it looks rather good in the Develop preview (set to fit), and did an export...
The preview I worked on and the export simply don't look the same.
I work with NEF files from my NIKON D3100 DSLR on a Mac OSX 10.7 MBP.This cannot be the external display profile not correctly adjusted since I viewed every pictures on the same screen.I unchecked every boxes from the presets tab in the settings window.

A couple of days before today I was using Camera RAW from PS CS5 to correct my NEF and was only keeping exports in JPEG. I decided to use LR 3 on my entire workflow and I'm being skeptical...
EDIT : i can join any required file or screenshot if required. I have some other shots having tthe same issue (a lot of ones indeed...)
EDIT 2 : i just found out the picture has much more acurate colors (relatively to the export ones) in the Library module in fit preview (Loupe I guess)
I have Lightroom 3.5 - Photoshop CS5 Extended and both are up to date but I'm trying to get my ALR to use the latest Camera Raw 6.5 but it's not a selection on the drop down menu.
My camera profiles are there for Nikon D700 but i'm using presets that use ACR and it's old. -- i've removed Lightroom (an unistaller would be super useful adobe!!!) but it still remembers my old catalogs etc...
I have been using 3.6 from day one with no problems, now I can view all files in my catalog, but when I go to the develop module the picture does not show and LR freezes. I have tried everything to no avail.
