Lightroom :: Clicking On Graduated Filter Pin Jumps To Different Image
Aug 19, 2012
This is a weird one, but I am new to lightroom. I have these pins on my image, which are all grey, and when I click on them, they jump to another image. I can't seem to figure out what is happening here.. I think they were created when I add a graduated filter,,,
Â
I cannot delete them because when I click on them they jump to a diffeferent image... It's super annoying trying to add graduated filters when you keep jumping to a different image...
Long, long, keyword hierarchy. Clicking on a keyword takes the focus back up to the keyword filter box. Usually happens if I've used the filter box to narrow down the keywords that are visible. Continues even after the filter box has been cleared. Doesn't happen all the time though. It is a real pain when trying to double click a keyword to edit it as the first click or the double click causes the list to refresh showing only the top entries. The second click (of the double click) then causes whatever keyword is now under the pointer to be keyword to be edited - NOT the keyword under the pointer when I started the double click.  I've seen this happen in both LR3.0 and LR3.2RC.  Windows XP, 32bit.
All of a sudden, when I use my graduated filter while I am developing, it does not have any effect. I can see the lines, it appears to be working, but If I try and adjust the exposure, it does the whole photo, not just the section that I am trying to filter.
When I'm trying to use the graduated filter tool in 3.5 I don't end up with the lines or the marker to adjust it after I've applied it, the line and marker don't show up while I'm applying the filter and aren't there afterward either. Is there some place I need to select that as how it's shown? Also, I have a windows 7 laptop that meets the requirements for running lightroom but I'm having trouble with it not running very fluid-ly. That is if I move a slider to make an adjustment it doesn't apply it while I'm doing that it takes quite a few seconds and then applies it, which leaves me really all over the place trying to make fine little adjustments. It takes it's time to load photos and such which really isn't a big deal to me but for the little movements of the sliders or the curves I really would like to see what it's doing as it's doing it. If I had a more powerful laptop (or desktop but at this stage of my life I prefer laptop) would that improve that?
I scanned an old, somewhat degraded photo, The horizontal center (i.e., top to bottom between left/right edges) is faded, getting better towards the left/right edges. Â Is there a way to apply a graduated filter so that I can increase make adjustments to the center, fading out towards the right AND the left? That is, the effect normally graduates towards an edge; I want it to be strongest in the center and fade towards both edges.
When I make changes to a raw file using the graduated filter and then edit the photo in photoshop the graduated filter changes do not carry over to photoshop but all the other changes do. Whats up?
If you see the face iv used a smooth brush and its bringing out all these noise spots. If i try to darken a background its totally unusable. Iv never had these presets and brushes do this but the last 2 sessions iv had massive issues, Its happening on pics which i wouldnt think would have issues and have never had issues before. Lightroom 4 had none of these problems.
The problem I have is with the graduated filter in the develop module of LR 4.1. Â I have installed CS6 and LR4.1 on both my new Macbook Pro and Mac Pro. Â When using the Macbook Pro the the pin marker appears as it should. Â On the Mac Pro no pin marker appears but the rest of the action is performed.
I pasted the same graduated filter arrangement into several hundred action photos. I then slog through them in capture order, nudging them one way or another depending on crop and subject. On the next photo, the first time I click and drag --the filter NEVER moves! I must release and reclick to get it to move. This becomes highly annoying after a while. Enough so to write this.
Unable to see the lines of the Graduated filter tool or the outlne and handles of the new Radial filter tool. They were visible when I first installed Lr5 and used them on several photos
When i import my RAW files into LR 4 from my Nikon D90 the images appear to have decent color saturation and contrast. Once i actually click on the individual files, it says loading and the image becomes very flat and dull looking (bad contrast, saturation). I turned off the option to auto adjust for camera specs but I am still having the issue. Does this have something to do with the color space? How can I get it to stop auto adjusting my files?
I"m using photoshop cs5 and the liquify filter dosen't show any effect until after I've clicked ok. I've checked, and unchecked "show backdrop" and the opacity is set to 100%.
I shoot DNG in camera at 10.3mp. When opened in CC and I go to image size it is suddenly 58.9mp but only 11.9in by 9.6in in size. Why? I am looking to get a 16x20 print out of it with oul loss of image quality.
I'm using Lightroom 4.4 on Mac. Â Having an issue where all brushes and graduated filters are adding a warm yellow tint, no matter what the color settings are for the brush. The tint persists, even if I convert the image to B&W within Lightroom.
When I go to crop or move an image close to the edge of the canvas it jumps to the edge. I am having trouble especially with cropping the space between the image and the edge of the canvas the way I want it. turning off this jumping to edge problem I'm having?
Also, I've used CS4 a fair bit and haven't come across this same problem but in PE when I'm editing things like adjusting text on a layer and I'm changing options with hotkeys to resize the text box for eg, Elements seems to jump to the background layer quite alot and then I have to click back on the layer I want to edit between changing tools. Is it something to do with the Esc key?
You know those "warp a celebrity" flash or java games where you click on part of the celebrity's face and drag the mouse, and the image warps? Can this sort of thing be done to your images in photoshop 6.0? (That's the version I have)
If this can't be done in Photoshop 6.0, does anyone know of a simple freeware program that I can use to warp images "celebrity warp" style?
I have Photoshop CS. When I try to use the type tool by clicking on it and then clicking on the image (to place the cursor), the background of the iamge turns a pinkish colour. My foreground and background colours are both white. My settings are default ones.
When I am in an image, selecting an area with the polygon lasso tool, every time I click a point, the image blanks out and does not redraw. I am left with my pologon selection lines and a white image where the photo should be. The only way to get the image back is to force it to scroll. I have to extend the tool off one side of the image or another to make it scroll. Otherwise the screen does not redraw. I am forced to work with my images in a window instead of fullscreen to ensure that I have part of the image to scroll to when the image blanks out. It is doing this with every click of the polygon lasso tool. Needless to say, this is maddening! Has anyone seen this behavior before? I am running Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP and the program is up to date. I have two gigs of ram and have moved up the memory allocated to Photoshop from half to two thirds. I have stopped having other programs opened. I also tried turning off the preference for the 3D graphics acceleration. So far nothing has worked to fix the problem. I have about 1100 product photos to clip out -
On Windows 7, R-clicking on an image shows "Open With" CS6 but only 64 bit opens. How to also have 32bit as a choice? Since the majority of my plugins only work on 32bit I find using 64bit unfortunately useless. Hence I wold like to know if it is possible to right-click on asn image with explorer and have it open the 32bit version.
My corel x4 was coryupt and I had to install my older Corel 12.
Options on this corel are different. Â So in Corel 12, how do i change the settings so that when I double click on an image, it will open it in Corel photo for editing?
I have imported a jpeg image by double clicking it and it is showing as a vector in the workspace. All the tools on the left are greyed out(eg clone brush) except for the text tool.On selecting the text tool instead of the usual box showing a blue bar appears on top of the screen which can be moved about.
It seems this only happens in Lightroom. There is a constant click, like a hard drive head seek, once a second. I don't have Lightroom doing anything in the background like building thumbnails, but instead is just sitting idle there for hours. When I close LR, it stops imediately.
I just want to open a picture by double clicking on it in a folder, why does Lightroom open the import dialogue, force me to close the dialogue, open Navigator, scroll down to the folder I already have open in Explorer, load the folder and then pick the picture I want?
I have a random question. I have a layer that I want to set in front of a background image, and I want the edges of the top layer to be transparent. However, I don't want it in some kind of blocky, obvious way. Something more like an outer/inner glow to where it's smooth and gradual, but transparent instead of with a color. I sidestepped the issue once before by giving the layer a white inner glow and making the background white as well so that it LOOKED like the desired effect, but now I can't really cheat like that.
I have made a foreground to background linear graduated screen in PS6 / windows xp and although the color selector shows black, foreground shows black, and background shows white, I get an almost rainbow like assortment of various color bands across the page. I have made the screen with the rectangle tool and also with a new fill layer and get the same results.
I try to change the color... red, green, pink just to see what happens, but nothing changes. It also prints the same way. I put a second new fill layer with a pattern fill to hide the effect, but the page still has faint bands of the wrong color running across it. Any ideas on this issue?
