Photoshop :: Image Blanks When Clicking With Polygon
Jul 16, 2009
When I am in an image, selecting an area with the polygon lasso tool, every time I click a point, the image blanks out and does not redraw. I am left with my pologon selection lines and a white image where the photo should be. The only way to get the image back is to force it to scroll. I have to extend the tool off one side of the image or another to make it scroll. Otherwise the screen does not redraw. I am forced to work with my images in a window instead of fullscreen to ensure that I have part of the image to scroll to when the image blanks out. It is doing this with every click of the polygon lasso tool. Needless to say, this is maddening! Has anyone seen this behavior before? I am running Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP and the program is up to date. I have two gigs of ram and have moved up the memory allocated to Photoshop from half to two thirds. I have stopped having other programs opened. I also tried turning off the preference for the 3D graphics acceleration. So far nothing has worked to fix the problem. I have about 1100 product photos to clip out -
The problem is that if one has defined a selected area in an image, using either selection by color or contiguous selection using the 'magic wand' facility, is possible to copy this selection to the Image Map facility of the image, so as to automatically define a set of coordinates as a polygon that can be used for link purposes? Perhaps there is some interim step that is required, or perhaps a special script is required?
You know those "warp a celebrity" flash or java games where you click on part of the celebrity's face and drag the mouse, and the image warps? Can this sort of thing be done to your images in photoshop 6.0? (That's the version I have)
If this can't be done in Photoshop 6.0, does anyone know of a simple freeware program that I can use to warp images "celebrity warp" style?
I have Photoshop CS. When I try to use the type tool by clicking on it and then clicking on the image (to place the cursor), the background of the iamge turns a pinkish colour. My foreground and background colours are both white. My settings are default ones.
I usually distort my image with the classic skew, rotate, scale... tools but that time I really need to deform the image along a path. So I want to draw a path (selection) and distort the image along it.
I'm not quite sure how to search for this, so it may be in here, but I'm not finding it........  Windows 7, 64-bit, 12GB of memory, Photoshop CS6, LR4.  In Photoshop, a normal Nikon D300 image, opened from LR4. I have my normal complement of layers for cloning/healing, dodging, burning, curves, hue/sat, etc.  EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE - not consistent, no idea what provokes it - I zoom in while cloning to clean up some small area, and at some point in the zooming, my image disappears and I have the white/gray series of boxes on the entire screen (the thing that shows up when you increase canvas and there's no image on that part)... I can zoom back out, and all of a sudden I have an image again. Zooming in makes it disappear. I have the clone tool set to "Sample All Layers", so it shouldn't be seeing a blank layer, and IT WORKS FINE ALMOST ALL THE TIME.  I've tried closing the image and reopening it, but that made no difference. Did the same thing.
I have to shut down Photoshop and restart it, and then it typically works when zooming in the same way on the same image...  Is this a memory issue (12GB isn't enough for CS6?) or do I have something configured wrong?Â
I have a Window xp 64 os with 8GB of ram and plenty of disk space. When I use the lasso tool, after two or three clicks, the menus blank out, another few clicks, and the image goes blank (makes it difficult to finish the selection). As far as I know, everything is up to date.
On Windows 7, R-clicking on an image shows "Open With" CS6 but only 64 bit opens. How to also have 32bit as a choice? Since the majority of my plugins only work on 32bit I find using 64bit unfortunately useless. Hence I wold like to know if it is possible to right-click on asn image with explorer and have it open the 32bit version.
This has happened since CS5 I think. When I select an area to copy into another document, I am so used to dragging it over to the destination document. Sometimes I have more than one document open at a time and dragging over them blanks them out.Â
I'm not sure what the heck is going on. All my photos are missing in that blanks show up, not the photo when I go to library. There is the ? which I understand that lightroom can't find the photo but I do have my external hard drive attached but lightroom is only connecting to the C: Drive.
When i import my RAW files into LR 4 from my Nikon D90 the images appear to have decent color saturation and contrast. Once i actually click on the individual files, it says loading and the image becomes very flat and dull looking (bad contrast, saturation). I turned off the option to auto adjust for camera specs but I am still having the issue. Does this have something to do with the color space? How can I get it to stop auto adjusting my files?
This is a weird one, but I am new to lightroom. I have these pins on my image, which are all grey, and when I click on them, they jump to another image. I can't seem to figure out what is happening here.. I think they were created when I add a graduated filter,,, Â I cannot delete them because when I click on them they jump to a diffeferent image... It's super annoying trying to add graduated filters when you keep jumping to a different image...
Goal of the task : I need the area of different type of soil. I have an image of these different soil, but I need to create a polygon manualy for each and every one of these. This is to calculate the runoff coefficient of a watershed.Â
As they are different by their colors (blue = lake, green = forest, etc), I would like to know if it is possible to convert these image to have an polygon usable in autocad, where I can calculate the area of each type of cover.Â
I have a HP DesignJet 110 nr connected as a network printer. I have all the drivers updated including the network card. I have unistalled and reinstalled all the drivers and software.  I have also replaced the ink cart. too. When I print in AutoCAD 2011 it acts like it is printing stuff, but it goes throught the whole process and nothing prints. I just started creating PDFs and sending them to the printer, but thought I would give it a new shot.
My corel x4 was coryupt and I had to install my older Corel 12.
Options on this corel are different. Â So in Corel 12, how do i change the settings so that when I double click on an image, it will open it in Corel photo for editing?
I have imported a jpeg image by double clicking it and it is showing as a vector in the workspace. All the tools on the left are greyed out(eg clone brush) except for the text tool.On selecting the text tool instead of the usual box showing a blue bar appears on top of the screen which can be moved about.
After designing, i try to save the image by clicking save as, but it does not trigger any thing. even if i click save alone. it's still the same thing. Until i try to close the interface, then it will pop-up a dialog message that do i want to save before i close or not, then i click yes but it does not display png, jpeg and the likes as file extension. it only displays psd and some uncommon extensions.
Problem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
In photoshop cs 6, if i right click on any layer, with the move tool [black arrow], the menu shows lots of layer names which contains my layer too.  On the other hand in Photoshop cs5 and earlier versions this right click thing would show the name of only, only the layer on which the mouse was clicked, not a big list that’s a pain in the head. Takes so long to choose the layer I wanna work.  I have experienced this problem on windows xp 32 bit and windows 7 64 bit. All the systems were free of viruses and I also did this experiment with different files. What’s wrong in cs6?
In CS5 alt clicking in an adjustment layer (eg curves) permitted naming the layer and making a clipping path This does not happen in CS6.How do you do that in CS6?
When I select an area in Photoshop CS6, I can no longer deselect by clicking outside the area. My tool tip displays the cross with the plus sign in the lower right to indicate I am in additive mode. I can right click for a dropdown menu and choose "deselect" , but that is a drag that interrupts my thought flow and so annoys me.Â
I've tried going into preferences and making sure the cursor is "standard." I've reset my preferences. No caps locked, etc. What is going on? More importantly, how can I make it so that all I have to do is click outside the selection to deselect it. I'm working on a Mac, if that makes any difference.
Trying to create a header. I created the buttons in a separate psd file and when I click and drag the buttons into the other canvas (my header) I'm having trouble when I click ctrl + alt + shift to duplicate the new buttons. Some layers are getting left behind. Should I flatten or merge the layers of the button before I click and drag the button into the other canvas (header)?
I'm using PS4 Extended on Windows SP3 and whenever I double click on a JPEG, TIFF or PSD file, it will open Photoshop but the file itself does not open. I've checked to make sure PS4 is the chosen program to open with both in Properties as well as in File Types. Dragging and dropping a file into Photoshop will work.
I just cannot move any polygon that I've created using the Polygon Tool. After making polygons, I ensured they had not been locked and selected the Move Tool to move them to no avail.
how to get the Polygon Lasso tool on my Mac version of Photoshop 12.1 (CS5)? It's on my PC version of the program, but I can't find it anywhere on my Mac version.
