Lightroom :: Auto Adjusting Image Upon Clicking On The File?
Oct 14, 2012
When i import my RAW files into LR 4 from my Nikon D90 the images appear to have decent color saturation and contrast. Once i actually click on the individual files, it says loading and the image becomes very flat and dull looking (bad contrast, saturation). I turned off the option to auto adjust for camera specs but I am still having the issue. Does this have something to do with the color space? How can I get it to stop auto adjusting my files?
If I go on adjusting a psd-file which has been flattened, will the file´s image quality go worse?
Meaning that I´ve had a TIFF-file (made from a RAW-file) that I have adjusted with plenty of layers. After all the adjustments, I´ve made a copy of it, flattened the copied file, cropped it to the wanted size (no interpolation), and made some changes again with cloning tools and gaussian blur.
But after this, I find I still have to make another version of the image with different adjustments of lightness (curves) and colors (color balance, saturation) and I´m pondering if I have to go back to the file with layers, or can I continue with the cropped file and make new adjustment layers on this flattened image. Would be better for the work flow and my nerves...
This is a weird one, but I am new to lightroom. I have these pins on my image, which are all grey, and when I click on them, they jump to another image. I can't seem to figure out what is happening here.. I think they were created when I add a graduated filter,,, Â I cannot delete them because when I click on them they jump to a diffeferent image... It's super annoying trying to add graduated filters when you keep jumping to a different image...
I like to keep track of what I've exported and uploaded to Flickr and other sites and what I've sent out to people. It seems tagging my images with some appropriate keyword is the best way to do this. Such keywords as "Flickr" or "Facebook", etc. But I the only way I can do this is to remember to manually apply each such keyword when I do the export. It would seem to me to be wonderfully simply if I could, in the export form, do something like "Add keywords:" and list keywords that would be added to each image exported through that form. Â Is there another way to track such usage other than with keywords?
I shot using an eye-fi card. The card autmatically generates a xmp file with geodata in it. LR auto imports these images and adds lens correction and a copy right tag. Â What I can't do is automatically is get LR to read the xmp file and include this in the catalogue. I am having to right click images and select read metadata from file. Â There must be a better work flow then this.
Using LR 5. Â I'm trying to create a simple 6 image per page book using Auto Layout. No matter what I try, I cannot get it to lay the images out in sequential order.
The images are numbered 001_XXXX.jpg and I see them in the correct order in the LR Library.
Yes, I'm probably the only person on the planet that wants this, but I liked how the Auto Tone auto adjusted the Exposure slider (ONLY!) and left all the other sliders at zero in the Lightroom 4 beta. Â Is there a way to write a preset that returns that behavior?
How do I get the handles to appear on the actual image for adjusting a colour and transparency gradient?  I know how to adjust a gradient in the gradient editor, but I need to adjust the position of the colours and the transparency bands on the actual image. what I clicked in the tools pallette to get the handles to appear.
discovered the pleasures of Edit>Convert to Profile command. When I convert to a new profile (I have belatedly discovered paper profiles) from adobe RGB to Hahnelmule Photorag to be precise there is a loss of saturation I am having trouble recovering. I will avoid this problem by starting with the correct profile however I have a lot of work in the wrong profile. To keep things simple I have flattened the image.
If I have an image that's too big to fit on the printer page, how do I set my printer settings to adjust the image to the right size (i.e. without scaling the image manually)?
I scanned a number of pictures. I used another piece of software to revise the "created" and "modified" dates of the file to the dates the pictures were actually taken. I then put the files in a folder that Photshop Elements imports. But when it did, it imported the files with the dates I that I had scanned the pictures. Then I had to use PE to adjust the dates again.I like using the other software for adjusting dates because I can do batch revisions.
Trying to create a header. I created the buttons in a separate psd file and when I click and drag the buttons into the other canvas (my header) I'm having trouble when I click ctrl + alt + shift to duplicate the new buttons. Some layers are getting left behind. Should I flatten or merge the layers of the button before I click and drag the button into the other canvas (header)?
You know those "warp a celebrity" flash or java games where you click on part of the celebrity's face and drag the mouse, and the image warps? Can this sort of thing be done to your images in photoshop 6.0? (That's the version I have)
If this can't be done in Photoshop 6.0, does anyone know of a simple freeware program that I can use to warp images "celebrity warp" style?
I have Photoshop CS. When I try to use the type tool by clicking on it and then clicking on the image (to place the cursor), the background of the iamge turns a pinkish colour. My foreground and background colours are both white. My settings are default ones.
When I am in an image, selecting an area with the polygon lasso tool, every time I click a point, the image blanks out and does not redraw. I am left with my pologon selection lines and a white image where the photo should be. The only way to get the image back is to force it to scroll. I have to extend the tool off one side of the image or another to make it scroll. Otherwise the screen does not redraw. I am forced to work with my images in a window instead of fullscreen to ensure that I have part of the image to scroll to when the image blanks out. It is doing this with every click of the polygon lasso tool. Needless to say, this is maddening! Has anyone seen this behavior before? I am running Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP and the program is up to date. I have two gigs of ram and have moved up the memory allocated to Photoshop from half to two thirds. I have stopped having other programs opened. I also tried turning off the preference for the 3D graphics acceleration. So far nothing has worked to fix the problem. I have about 1100 product photos to clip out -
I have installed autocad lt 2013 on a pc running windows 8 and I have a problem opening the dwg file. If I open the file dwg to autocad lt I have no problem, but if I try to open the file directly by double clicking on the file, the pogram creshed and appear an error message and the request to send report to autocad. how to riosolverlo?
There are really two problems here:  1) If I double click on a file, it opens in Illustrator, but it does not open with my default workspace settings. If I open the file from the file menu, my preferred workspace opens. and 2) If I have one file open, I cannot double click on a second file and have that file open in Illustrator. I just get the little spinning circle and then it stops. I can still open a second file from the file/open menu option.  We are using CS6 and running windows 7.
There is a touchscreen monitor in my car.It allows custom background wallpapers to be loaded via USB.The touchscreen automatically adds what would appear to be about a 25% alpha black layer in FRONT of the image so the touchscreen controls and icons are clearly visible. The problem is, I don't know what values I'm supposed to adjust on my image in order to get it to look the same way it does on my computer screen.Would you adjust the brightness? Contrast?Or is this simply not possible because the ~25% alpha black tint is placed OVER the wallpaper?
I have a really weird problem with one of my files. When I click on the text, it changes the text to completely different words. Seems like it is corrupt somehow... see below images to see what I mean. Is there a fix? I'm on CS6 mac OS 10.8.4. Â Before:
After:
Out of curiosity I also opened up the file in text edit to see if there was anything obvious, and here's some of the code. I'm assuming this is preview text for search, but either way seems a bit fishy. <rdf:li rdf:parseType="Resource"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <photoshop:LayerName>Partners</photoshop:LayerName> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <photoshop:LayerText>WE WILL BE...</photoshop:LayerText> </rdf:li> Â Trying to edit the text and saving it out corrups the file.
When I double click an object in Xara Pro X sometimes it opens the object in a new file.
I say sometimes because it doesn't do it under all circumstances. I think it is just on some cloned objects. I normally use double click on an object as a shortcut to the shape tool (used to be called shape editor tool). Even though it only does it on some objects, when it decides to do this it is consistent for that object.
I am having trouble with my CS3... have used for a number of years. It won't open a file. I click file, open.. and the selections go grey. I have uninstalled and re-installed and it does the same thing. I have re-installed on my data drive so there is plenty of room. I have 3.5 gb memory.. nothing else open.Â
I created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
On Windows 7, R-clicking on an image shows "Open With" CS6 but only 64 bit opens. How to also have 32bit as a choice? Since the majority of my plugins only work on 32bit I find using 64bit unfortunately useless. Hence I wold like to know if it is possible to right-click on asn image with explorer and have it open the 32bit version.
I'm trying to adjust a JPG image so that I can imprint it onto a tapered shot glass. So far nothing I've tried has worked, is there anyway to accomplish this in either Corel Draw or Photo Paint? I'm using version X5.
My corel x4 was coryupt and I had to install my older Corel 12.
Options on this corel are different. Â So in Corel 12, how do i change the settings so that when I double click on an image, it will open it in Corel photo for editing?
I have imported a jpeg image by double clicking it and it is showing as a vector in the workspace. All the tools on the left are greyed out(eg clone brush) except for the text tool.On selecting the text tool instead of the usual box showing a blue bar appears on top of the screen which can be moved about.
It seems this only happens in Lightroom. There is a constant click, like a hard drive head seek, once a second. I don't have Lightroom doing anything in the background like building thumbnails, but instead is just sitting idle there for hours. When I close LR, it stops imediately.
