Paint.NET :: Image Is Blurred When Imported?
Jan 16, 2014I work for a Transit Agency and I am creating new scheduling brochures along with maps. I have attached an image of the brochure so that you can see what is going on. I created the maps using Paint.Net. The schedule was created in Microsoft Excel. When I tried to copy and paste it directly from Excel to Paint.net, it wouldn't allow me to do it. So, what I did was take the Excel spreadsheet and copy/paste it to regular Microsoft Paint and saved it as a picture, then using Paint.net under layers tab / import image , it transferred it to my map, however if you look closely the wording is a little blurry and the column on the far right is really blurry.
is there any way to fix this, or would there be an easier approach of transferring it to my map using Paint.net and by-passing Microsoft Paint ?
Paint Shop Pro :: Adjusting Photograph (new Layer) To Default Image Size
Dec 20, 2011I created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?

Jun 8, 2012I have a jpg file of a very old Parish Map downloaded from web. It is unfortunately very low resolution with light cream background and faded printed information. Also the center of the relevant area has been colored deep red. Which tool should I use to enhance the printing? I have been experimenting with Lighten/Darken and also the Dodge brush but obviously not using them correctly.
One pass gives me some improvement but further passes turn everything white. There is very little difference in color between the background and the printed matter which I think was originally black.
Photoshop :: Distorted / Blurred Image After Arbitrary Rotation
Mar 6, 2009When I scan my photos they are not always straight. I use Image-RotateCanvas-arbitrary command to change the percentage of rotation to straighten image.
I automated the process in "actions" menu to rotate canvas 0.5%CW and 0.5%CCW.
I decided to play a little bit with newly made "action" hotkeys to get used to them.
Now the problem
When I rotated the image 5 times CCW and 5 time CW I noticed that it became significantly distorted, blurred. I tried manually do the same (without automation) same result. With every additional step of rotating, image becomes more distorted, so it is not faulty automation...
Question:
Is it normal?
P.S. I scan images at 24 bit color, 150 resolution.

I usually use a combination of facet and despeckle to improve the resolution of the oversized image.
I've also tried a plugin that supposedly resizes the images and worked on a fractal based concept, but to be honest the results were not very convincing.

how to create an image to make it look like its in motion? I am trying to create an image of an arm at 45 degrees that rotates another 45 degrees that shows motion (I know the attached file is not very useful but it is the same style of motion on the butterfly's wings that I am after).
Usually the starting image is a very faint colour and the last should be solid colour but is there a way to blur/blend the colours in between to show where the image originally was and where it is now?

Aug 15, 2012I have been trying to select an ellipse selection area around an oval shaped logo to create a mask or transparent background. I am trying to use the ellipse selection tool. When I use the ellipse selection tool, it makes an out of control shape that goes off the edges with a marquee and there is no way to adjust it. So then I created a selection shape using the vector shape tool, but I couldn't do anything with the selection after making it a raster object. I tried to flood fill background area...mouse pointer is there with bucket but nothing happens. Nothing seems very intuitive, clear or logical to me. you pick a shape and then use handles to adjust it to the actual shape is what seems intuitive, but that is just too easy.

There are adjustment tools in PDN that can modify separate channels; AFAIK alpha is technically identical to color channels but these tools only let me edit RGB.

I've got two images taken under similar lighting conditions with the same camera and settings that came out with slightly different colors. There is a reference object in each photo that should match (in this case, a grey square of a paint sample). I'd like to adjust the color of the square in photo 2 so that it matches the square in photo 1, with the adjustments applied to the entirety of photo 2.

When I convert to a new profile (I have belatedly discovered paper profiles) from adobe RGB to Hahnelmule Photorag to be precise there is a loss of saturation I am having trouble recovering. I will avoid this problem by starting with the correct profile however I have a lot of work in the wrong profile. To keep things simple I have flattened the image.

May 31, 2013If I go on adjusting a psd-file which has been flattened, will the file´s image quality go worse?
Meaning that I´ve had a TIFF-file (made from a RAW-file) that I have adjusted with plenty of layers. After all the adjustments, I´ve made a copy of it, flattened the copied file, cropped it to the wanted size (no interpolation), and made some changes again with cloning tools and gaussian blur.
But after this, I find I still have to make another version of the image with different adjustments of lightness (curves) and colors (color balance, saturation) and I´m pondering if I have to go back to the file with layers, or can I continue with the cropped file and make new adjustment layers on this flattened image. Would be better for the work flow and my nerves...

Lightroom :: Auto Adjusting Image Upon Clicking On The File?
Oct 14, 2012When i import my RAW files into LR 4 from my Nikon D90 the images appear to have decent color saturation and contrast. Once i actually click on the individual files, it says loading and the image becomes very flat and dull looking (bad contrast, saturation). I turned off the option to auto adjust for camera specs but I am still having the issue. Does this have something to do with the color space? How can I get it to stop auto adjusting my files?
