I'd like to write an article for my blog about increasing the size of the images without getting it blurred or pixelated.
I usually use a combination of facet and despeckle to improve the resolution of the oversized image.
I've also tried a plugin that supposedly resizes the images and worked on a fractal based concept, but to be honest the results were not very convincing.
I was fortunate to have a photo selected for a magazine cover. I never expected to use anything from this series so instead of my usual raw/22 MP defalut, I happened to be in jpeg thinking it was just for planning, etc.In any case, the image they like is 5.4 MP jpeg. They claim to need 12 MP minimum to avoid pixlelation.

The original image is 352KB and after saving as CMYK it is 2.1MB
Why is this happening and how can I stop it?
I'm using a lot of images for a print project so need to keep file sizes small with resolution of 300dpi. The image dimensions are really small, only about 30mm high so they shouldn't be this large a file size
I am using a clipping path but this doesn't seem to be effecting file size (I checked by saving it as RGB with a clipping path which stayed small, and by saving one without a clipping path in CMYK which was huge)
to make a image larger without making it all pixilized?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to GIMP 2.8.4 for Mac after spending months using an older version. At the bottom of the image window are tips for using whatever tool one is currently using. Unfortunately, these tips are TINY! I can barely see them! Is there any way to increase their size via GIMP preferences?
Note that I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to editing program code so if this is required I will need specific step by step instructions.
EDIT: Additionally, I've noticed that image windows always stay behind the toolbox and layer windows. Is there any way to reverse the ordering? (So that image windows can move in front of the toolbox/layer window?) With multiple image windows open on a small screen I need all the space I can get.
I usually do photoshop work in an 800 x 600 pixel range. I tried to post a new picture on a website this morning and it came as a 171 x something , tiny little picture that could not be enlarged. How can I increase the size of my pictures? This is my first attempt using the Revel site.

Till last week the batch tool was working properly to do this action. Since yesterday, when I use the same action the batch works but the files are with 25KB (before they were between 100 to 200 bytes).

in the "Workflow Options" of Camera Raw there is the option to increase the file size by setting the Crop Size to a greater value then the native of the file itself.
I would like to understand if upsampling with this option can bring advantages (and/or cons) to the image quality, and in that case which ones, in particular for the printing of such files in A3+ and A2.
I need a picture resized (larger). But it is a very small picture and when I resize it, off course, it is not worth looking at anymore... I did capture some of the talking on vector based and pixel based, but how do I adjust the pic so I can resize it?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've developed a dynamic block for a standard bulb flat profile cross section using parametric constraints to alter the sizes of the profile. I also made six visibility states for altering the penetration type of the profile through a construction element. It works like a charm on smaller drawings, but on a typical master sectional drawing the file size increases up to 20 or so MB given to the fact that there are over 4000 copies of the block in the one drawing (the dyn block itself is around 100 KB). This makes the drawing almost impossible to work with as you may well imagine. I uploaded the block if you want to take a look at it.
Maybe I'm missing something here because I have searched online for similar problems and found very little occurrences of the same. I tried auditing, -purging, wblock to another file, everything I could find or think of nothing seems to work. Is it just the way it is with files containing so many dynamic blocks or is there a way to make it work.
How can I increase the display size of anchor points? i.e. the vertices.? they are too small to see clearly. i am used to vertice point size of coreldraw.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI find myself in the unfortunate position of having to resize a lot of text by one point size. So I wanted to find the key command for decreasing the text size by 1 point. I found several things online that worked... except they decrease it by TWO points. Not one. They are:
Command Shift <
and
Command Shift .
Both work... except they decrease the font by 2 point sizes. How can I make it go down only ONE point size?
PS I'm using CS4. And I can't select all the text because I need some of it to stay as is... while reducing the size of other text. Oh, and I'm on an iMac.
How can I fix a blurred digital image that I took on my camera. I do not have any plug-ins that I know may help. Just curious if there is anyting I can do in Photoshop to help correct the problem.

I just want my work as a high quality jpg of 300dpi at the size i have drawn it!
I'd like to be able to vastly increase the size of the triad in the 3D Sketch environment - when sketching the triad is tiny and does not increase in size when zooming, this makes snapping to its planes extremely difficult.

I was recently at a family reunion and was just casually snapping candid photos.
The only shot of a particular out of town relative is very blurred .
Is there any way to bring this into focus?
It does not need to be perfectly focused, but better than the orginal.
How can i increase the size of the hose beyond 2" max that Pipe&Run allows it to be? I need the hose more for a visual rather then its acual function. I'm guessing i gonna have to change its paremeters right? if so, how do i and what needs changed?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I scan my photos they are not always straight. I use Image-RotateCanvas-arbitrary command to change the percentage of rotation to straighten image.
I automated the process in "actions" menu to rotate canvas 0.5%CW and 0.5%CCW.
I decided to play a little bit with newly made "action" hotkeys to get used to them.
Now the problem
When I rotated the image 5 times CCW and 5 time CW I noticed that it became significantly distorted, blurred. I tried manually do the same (without automation) same result. With every additional step of rotating, image becomes more distorted, so it is not faulty automation...
Question:
Is it normal?
P.S. I scan images at 24 bit color, 150 resolution.
i used photoshop to design the website sliced it with image ready and imported as html..but then i check out the website some of the image is pixelated..how can i fix it.to view it as the same thing as i see it in photoshop while designing?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI work for a Transit Agency and I am creating new scheduling brochures along with maps. I have attached an image of the brochure so that you can see what is going on. I created the maps using Paint.Net. The schedule was created in Microsoft Excel. When I tried to copy and paste it directly from Excel to Paint.net, it wouldn't allow me to do it. So, what I did was take the Excel spreadsheet and copy/paste it to regular Microsoft Paint and saved it as a picture, then using Paint.net under layers tab / import image , it transferred it to my map, however if you look closely the wording is a little blurry and the column on the far right is really blurry.
is there any way to fix this, or would there be an easier approach of transferring it to my map using Paint.net and by-passing Microsoft Paint ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy, when you downsample a picture (say from 300 to 72 dpi) does it look look pixellated, even though it is scaled down in Indesign and the effective DPI is well over 300.
I am using little icons that are clipped out photos they will be printed at about a quarter inch. These icons are on a bunch of calendars so they are placed in Indesign hundreds of times. Their actual size was originally about 5 inches at 300 dpi -- wayyyy larger than necessary for the final printed size.
I need to downsize them, without have to adjust each one in the ID document as they are already placed. I can do this by downsampling them in PS, from 300 to 72 dpi and not change the dimensions.But when I do this, even though they are so small in the ID document, they still look pixelated.
Say I have an image that is sort of pixilated and rough, what is the best way to smooth it out so that it looks a bit better?
