I'm using Photoshop CS6 on a desktop running Windows 7 with AMD Radeon HD 6750 and I noticed that when I zoom at 66.7% or 33%, the pictures edges look "jagged"/blurry, etc. and the image only has a smooth rendering at 100%, 50%, 25%, etc.
I wouldn't ask about this except, I have the same exact version of Photoshop on my laptop, running Windows 7 with Intel's HD 4000 built-in graphics, and this computer displays smooth rendering of images at any zoom level, no matter what. So why the difference? The settings in the Preferences > Performance section is identical on both computers.
Whenever I try to text on either a blank sheet or over a picture the text looks blurred/ pixalated and no matter what size I choose it comes out small.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CS3 for several years without a problem. This morning I started having problems with text. I created a new document and created a text block and when I type the font is extremely pixelated and blurred. I have tried different fonts, different sizes, and even new documents but nothing fixes the problem.
I think I accidently hit a combo of keystrokes that is causing the problem but I can't figure out which one.
I have created a document using an image and text and the text is blurred when printed - ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I discovered that when I load tiffs into CS5 they are slightly blurred and the colour changes, when I load them into windows paint they are crystal clear and the colour is as it should be. To double check I obrained some free tiffs online and they also show up blurred and with more colout saturation, this only seems to happen with tiffs and has stopped me dead in my tracks.
I have added an example of one of my photographs here, if you look closely you will see the photoshop image on the left loses detail and appears slighlty blurred, also the colour is more saturated. The windows paint version is crystal clear and the colour is true.
I just can't figure out why the free windows paint is opening up a clearer unaffected image whilst the premium photoshop software opens up a less clear and colour changed images...
Example..... In both images compare the small tree situated above the large post on the right, the thin branches on the "right hand" version are more detailed...

Is there any way to bring this into focus?
It does not need to be perfectly focused, but better than the orginal.
Shot by a phone camera. I think the child who clicked couldn't focus & couldn't keep still...Not an easy job to fix this,at least i can't.

It comes out much softer and somewhat blurred. I have the opacity and flow both set at 100%. This is very frustrating since I can not get a true clone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am storing design elements as Vector Objects in Illustrator so that I can update them quickly when needed. The issue is that they vector objects, when viewed inside of photoshp, are quite a bit more blurry than the photoshop equivalent. Any ideas why? I understand that the Smart Object is rasterized. Do I need to do something to my photoshop document to view it in its final rendered state? Photoshop elements are rasterized as well, so i am not sure what is going on. In the attached pic, the top element is from illustrator, while the bottom is the same thing made inside photoshop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was retouching a leather jacket last night and had to warp a section and then refine using the clone stamp. The end result is fairly blurry. I tried to "steal" the texture of the jacket from another section of the jacket but was unhappy with all my efforts. Mostly I tried the Pattern Stamp after using Pattern Maker, but this changed the color too much for my taste. Perhaps I was creating the stamp pattern incorrectly. I tried adding a little monchromatic noise, which was OK, but I'd rather get back that nice leather texture.
Can anyone describe a method to "texturize" one area using the texture from another area?
I am saving graphics from Word for usage in a Framemaker document. When I copy and paste the file into Photoshop it becomes blurred and unusable. How do I resolve this? I have tried saving the file in it's highest resolution but that doesn't work either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I scan my photos they are not always straight. I use Image-RotateCanvas-arbitrary command to change the percentage of rotation to straighten image.
I automated the process in "actions" menu to rotate canvas 0.5%CW and 0.5%CCW.
I decided to play a little bit with newly made "action" hotkeys to get used to them.
Now the problem
When I rotated the image 5 times CCW and 5 time CW I noticed that it became significantly distorted, blurred. I tried manually do the same (without automation) same result. With every additional step of rotating, image becomes more distorted, so it is not faulty automation...
Question:
Is it normal?
P.S. I scan images at 24 bit color, 150 resolution.
This is kind of a specific problem. I've got a bunch of pictures of these wolves, but they are all from behind a chain link fence. I've posted an example. What would be the best way to neutralize the gray color? Is there any easy way or is it a detailed procedure?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to write an article for my blog about increasing the size of the images without getting it blurred or pixelated.
I usually use a combination of facet and despeckle to improve the resolution of the oversized image.
I've also tried a plugin that supposedly resizes the images and worked on a fractal based concept, but to be honest the results were not very convincing.
Some, only some, of the pictures i have imported to Photoshop Elements 12 are blurred when seen full screen, this is disappointing because i like to put my pictures onto disc, but not with such poor quality. What would the reason be for this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been experimenting with using Gaussian Blur on uncompressed TIFF images. The TIFF images consist of scans of printed images with a screen ruling.
I've been noticing an 8x8 blocking artifact when compressing the blurred images to JPEG's. (The reason for not using the scanner's Descreen feature is so that I can selectively blur.)
Here, a JPEG without prior blurring appears on top, and a JPEG with prior blurring appears on the bottom:
Would blurring the JPEG, instead of blurring the TIFF beforehand, be preferable?
