Photoshop :: CS6 - Blurred / Jagged Picture At Irregular Zoom Levels?
Sep 20, 2012I'm using Photoshop CS6 on a desktop running Windows 7 with AMD Radeon HD 6750 and I noticed that when I zoom at 66.7% or 33%, the pictures edges look "jagged"/blurry, etc. and the image only has a smooth rendering at 100%, 50%, 25%, etc.
I wouldn't ask about this except, I have the same exact version of Photoshop on my laptop, running Windows 7 with Intel's HD 4000 built-in graphics, and this computer displays smooth rendering of images at any zoom level, no matter what. So why the difference? The settings in the Preferences > Performance section is identical on both computers.

Apr 19, 2004I took a photoshop class in HS and am fairly proficient with computers. It's tremendously blurred (the guy who took it apparently doesn't know how to focus an SLR camera) and I can't get it unblurred.

Feb 7, 2012The old photos were scanned in at 300 dpi. Many of them were then cleaned up (spots and scratches removed, etc.) using Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10 (which we also did on previous projects). My wife then began creating her project essentially using all of the VideoStudio defaults. She added a custom pan and zoom to every photo so that the slide show has some motion, and the person or object of interest in the photo gets enlarged and emphasized.
Problem 1: as some of the photos move, there is a visible twitch or judder--not sure what word I should use to describe it. It's like the picture jiggles a little as it moves. The problem is not in the burn, the DVD player or television, because you can see it happening when you watch the preview of the project in the software, edit mode. It seems to be random, I cannot discern a pattern to which photos, where on the timeline, which transition, etc., is related to the issue.
Problem 2: my wife created this project for a 4:3 aspect ratio TV, so the crop box that was used for all of the custom pan and zoom was 4:3. I would like to create a new version of the project, with all of the photos re-cropped, re-zoomed and re-panned using a 16:9 box. The problem is, I cannot figure out how to delete or un-do all of the existing 4:3 panning and zooming. I have tried opening the program with the 16:9 box checked, then opening the project file, then deleting photos from the time-line, and re-linking to a new copy of the same photo. When I open the pan and zoom box for the photo, it has a 4:3 aspect ratio crop box! Note that if I start a new project and drop the same photo on the timeline, I do get a 16:9 box for pan & zoom. So it seems that 4:3 is associated with the existing project, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I really don't want to have to re-create the whole thing from scratch. Is there a simple way to be able to re-do the pan & zoom at 16:9?
I tried selecting all of the photos on the timeline, right-clicking, then choosing auto pan and zoom, to see if that would re-do it using a 16:9 crop box (which could then be customized). No joy, it again used a 4:3 box.

I've used lightroom for a few weeks. I was playing around with the Navigation bar settings. Now my zoom won't work.
1. When I move the cursor near a corner or edge of the photo, the cursor appears as a magnifying glass, and the zoom works just fine.
2. When the cursor is anywhere else on the photo, then the cursor appears as an arrow symbol. And when I click once or twice on the photo in order to zoom, the photo being displayed just switches to another other photo a few behind or forward in the sequence.
I used to be able to click or double click anywhere on the photo being displayed, and I could zoom in on that spot. I wish lightroom were working as it was.

Nov 1, 2013Why did my cursor turn into a zoom tool with a photo sized to Fit; and how can I make it go back to a normal arrow?
It is only happening when the photo is sized to Fit. At other sizes, the cursor is normal.
This just started after I finished using the Adjustment Brush. I had used Cntrl + to zoom a photo while using the Adjustment Brush.

Feb 15, 2006I use Photoshop CS2 to create Designs for webpages. These designs have pixel-exact elements, e.g. a 1-pixel-line from top to bottom.
Now when I zoom in (>100, then I have sort of anti-alias, so that the 1-pixel-line isn't only one blue anymore, but it has different blue tones. I guess for photo manipulations etc. this anti-aliasing zoom is great, but for webdesign it sucks because I don't know if only the zoom make the line "corrupt" or if it really is corrupt.
Is there a way to change this zoom?

Jan 8, 2013My keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?

I created a new document and created a text block and when I type the font is extremely pixelated and blurred. Nov 12, 2012Yesterday I discovered that when I load tiffs into CS5 they are slightly blurred and the colour changes, when I load them into windows paint they are crystal clear and the colour is as it should be. To double check I obrained some free tiffs online and they also show up blurred and with more colout saturation, this only seems to happen with tiffs and has stopped me dead in my tracks.
I have added an example of one of my photographs here, if you look closely you will see the photoshop image on the left loses detail and appears slighlty blurred, also the colour is more saturated. The windows paint version is crystal clear and the colour is true.
I just can't figure out why the free windows paint is opening up a clearer unaffected image whilst the premium photoshop software opens up a less clear and colour changed images...
Example..... In both images compare the small tree situated above the large post on the right, the thin branches on the "right hand" version are more detailed...
