View 2 RepliesI've got a very annoying problem. When drawing rectangles with grid / guidelines showing using 960 Grid System (although it happens with other documents as well), the edges of the rectangle are not sharp, e.g. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6232/blurred.png - note top and right side is blurred. There are no styles applied.
When I switch off grids / guidelines, the rectangles are always sharp.
Also, resizing rectangles causes loss of sharpness to edges.
Using CS4.
I thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below. So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
Trying to create smooth edges. I have been working on my own logo. I have C4 Photoshop (Web Prem). I have been creating circles on a transparent background. When I applied logo on one of my images I notice little white doted edges. I see little white dots. What is the best way to create clean edge on transparency backgrounds?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm an beginner/intermediate Photoshop user, using CS5. I'm working on an image of two women, starting from an historical photograph. I selected, copied and pasted the central image of the 2 women onto a new layer which is otherwise transparent. I then created a copy of the original photograph's layer and applied a masking layer with a radial transparency gradient, so that when the original layer is hidden, the background appears to be radially faded behind the central image. So far, so good.
However, I'd like to apply an additional "dose" of transparency around the edges, so the image fades completely at the outermost edges. And I'd like more control over this additional fading than just applying another gradient.
I've seen a video of someone "painting" transparency onto an image, but I can't quite get my brain around it. From what I've read, it looks as though I should create another layer that will be an additional masking layer... but how to do this.
My undying gratitude for any assistance to get me past this roadblock.
I am using Photoshop 8.0. I have a JPEG file of our organization logo. The actual logo is round, but is surrounded by white. I want to make the white part transparent so I can place the logo on other graphics and not have anything but the round part of the logo showing. How can I do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create shapes in photoshop but they all seem to have rough edges. Is there a way around this? 1. I have been using the "rectangular marquee tool" to draw a square. 2. Filling it in with a color 3. Then to Edit > Transform > Skew. Then I pull in show corners, push some out. Now the edges look horrible.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a circle that has torn, jagged looking edges but can't figure out how to do it. I thought I could apply a brush but they are greyed out. The brushed do work when I hit pen and draw a freeform circle but then the circle is not perfect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a bin model. I've hollowed it out, the thickness of the bin tapers from top to bottom. I have selected the edges at the bottom of the bin and just want to connect these to form a solid shape which can be the base of the bin. At the moment it's hollow all the way through.
When I select these edges, then select 'border' and 'cap', nothing happens. How do I make this selection into a simple circular base?
I've been fooling around with paint net to get acclimated. I know how to make rectangular banner - but I would like to make a banner that has rounded corners. Does paint net allow me to do that>?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a fireworks display in VS4. I downloaded BluffTitler DEMO and have tried it there, but wonder if there is a way to create them in VS instead? To be precise, the "fireworks" display I'm trying to create is actually made of ice cubes. I've downloaded a great ice cube photo, one cube, which I'll have to duplicate numerous times, yes? Will VS4 animation be able to do this?
I'm also attempting to create a burning edge effect for some photos, like each one is burning up. I've tried the "burn" transition and it's not what I'm looking for. I'm trying to make the photos look like the edges are on fire.
The attachment below shows some of our thicker linestyles that we need for our life safety plans in the form of detail lines. In ACAD we could produce "squared" corners in stead of this spraypaint look.
Is there a way to get what we want in Revit or do we just need to accept yet another limitation of this program?
I was wondering if there is a way to create a group of vertices, edges or faces and somehow create a reference point or attach them to some kind of locator so they can be referenced at a later point. I want to be able to select a group of edges, model them and then move on to another task within Maya and have some kind of reference point so I can go back to the original group and not have to select them individually every time I want to work on that group of edges, faces or vertices, is this possible? I will post a picture shortly to this post so you can see an example of a specific group of edges that I would like to set a reference point or locator for.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried the following in Illustrator,
So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.
I'm detailing a simple square plate with a good number of holes in it. I create an ordiate set running vertically along the LH edge and select the holes that are close to that side. Origin is the lower LH corner. Works great, easy.
The holes that are closer to the RH side though I'd like to show on that side. So I go to create a second ordinate set for the RH side and choose the lower RH corner as the origin and choose my holes that are close to that edge. The 2nd set will automatically show a second "0.000" dimension on the bottom edge and I can't supress it by right clicking.
Is there a better way to do this? What I've done now is to not use a set but just choose ordinate dimension and go from the opposite edge, which works.... But alignment is better with a set.
API enhancement/fix in SP1: Cannot create a radius dimension on circular drawing curves projected from spline edges.Does it in some way trying to refer to the issue with nonplanar arcs turning into splines in drawings saved-as AutoCAD .DWG?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CS3 for several years without a problem. This morning I started having problems with text. I created a new document and created a text block and when I type the font is extremely pixelated and blurred. I have tried different fonts, different sizes, and even new documents but nothing fixes the problem.
I think I accidently hit a combo of keystrokes that is causing the problem but I can't figure out which one.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I discovered that when I load tiffs into CS5 they are slightly blurred and the colour changes, when I load them into windows paint they are crystal clear and the colour is as it should be. To double check I obrained some free tiffs online and they also show up blurred and with more colout saturation, this only seems to happen with tiffs and has stopped me dead in my tracks.
I have added an example of one of my photographs here, if you look closely you will see the photoshop image on the left loses detail and appears slighlty blurred, also the colour is more saturated. The windows paint version is crystal clear and the colour is true.
I just can't figure out why the free windows paint is opening up a clearer unaffected image whilst the premium photoshop software opens up a less clear and colour changed images...
Example..... In both images compare the small tree situated above the large post on the right, the thin branches on the "right hand" version are more detailed...
