AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Adjusting Annotative Scale Is Not Adjusting Label Text Size
Mar 30, 2012I am having trouble getting my Civil3d line labels to adjust with the annotative scale.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe aperture size cannot be modified using the sider under options. Workaround seems to be to use the system variable “pickbox”. Occasionally it seems to also display as a rectangle instead of a square, obvious when variable is set below 10 (however, this seems to be one of those intermittent problems / might be a stand-alone graphics problem).
I've got SP1 installed.
I have a drawing that contains texts that are annotative. But I would like to change the scale of the drawing with the floating model space viewport in Paper Space. I know I can individually right click on the text and Add Current Scale to them but is there a way to do so globally?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy annotative text moves from its original place when I change my viewport scale. I tried to add the PS scale to my original xref, but when I click on the text, I can't change the "no" to "yes" on the options menu where it says annotative.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the marquee tool to draw a shape - circle/square etc I sometimes don't get the size exactly to my requirements. is there a way to fine tune the produced size? I'm assuming that there is some combination of keys that will allow me to make fine adjustments up or down to the size of the shape. How to do this without closing down and starting again and again until I get what I require?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having diffuculties with my "Filters Gallery" window. Whenever it comes up, it cuts off some parts of the tools in the Filters Gallery. For example, if I wanted to give my image the "Plastic Wrap" filter, on the right side I only see half of the Highlight Strength, Detail and Smoothness adjustment bars, I can't see the little boxes where you enter numbers for the adjustment bars and only half of the Ok and Cancel buttons on the top of the window. When I try to adjust the window size by using the little black arrows that come up when you put your cursor on the edges of the window, it will only let me make the window longer, not wider. How can I make everything visible in my Filters Gallery window?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are currently STILL in the transition from LDD to Civil 3D 2013. Is there an easy way to stretch the contours within a surface without physically editing the surface. Right Now, I have a couple contours that have have spikes in them from lack of survey data. The Problem is that if I don't change the contours, I have to show steep slopes between them which I would rather not do.
Do I have to keep editing the surface to try and resolve this problem or is there a way I can just stretch the contours?
Right now I resolved the problem by coping the surface, exploding it and putting the contours on a different layer so that I can stretch them as I see fit But this is not a time effective solution.
I need to adjust a surface boundary. I need to remove a corrupted area in my surface. I do not need it. Is there any way to drag a boundary so I can exclude some of my contour area? Is there a command under settings on tool space that I may have overlooked? This surface was furnished by a client so I do not want to rebuild or alter except to exclude some contours.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhere is the “annotative scale” and “paper text height” properties?
I couldn’t find the “annotative scale” and “paper text height” properties when dealing with “Civil 3D” objects such as points and contours the same way we have it in the regular AutoCAD.
For example, suppose that I need to increase to decrease the “text height” of the point label considering a particular “annotative scale” property, then how this kind of thing might be done in the AutoCAD Civil 3D?
After adjusting white balance in ACR - images are opening in PS at a different size? how to prevent it?
Negatives are scanned at 3200dpi, and 24bit depth. This is the metadata from Bridge.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
I went forward designing intersection profiles with limited survey and simply made an educated guess for the secondary roads pgl tie in point. I have received updated survey and when I move the profile end point to meet existing grade it adds another pvi effectively holding the profile grade I set preliminarily. I'm keeping the lock point. Is there something with the return/ offset profiles preventing this edit? What is the proper work flow?

Any way to adjust the placement of my cross sections after i created my view frames? As you can see from the image attached i have extra room on the bottom of my sheet and my first cross section is not completely on the page. Some of my view frames are correct and others are not. Can this be adjusted per sheet?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is issue arises when i have been working on a drawing for a while with multiple xref/data shortcuts. The model space text is all the correct size yet once I enter a layout the annotative text relating to 3D elements such as Alignments/Profile Station/Elevation Labels shrink to 1/25 their size. Other annotative objects such as Mtext and Multileaders are not effected. Attached are before and after pictures.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working in Civil 3d 2010. I have annotative text and when I apply background mask the width is huge. Is there a system variable or something else that I need to change so the background will only be masked behind the text and not additional width?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with several layouts, and in one particular layout only, I want the text to be smaller than the annotation scale would dictate (the viewport is 1"=300', but I want the text to display at 1"=50' annotation scale).
I tried selecting the viewport and changing the "annotation scale" property to 1"=50', then the "standard scale" property to 1"=300'.
Strangely, this seems to work for a bunch of MText objects I have in the drawing, but it won't work for an alignment station label group or for a particular linetype...for some reason, those two things insist on having their annotation scale equal to the viewport scale.
I tried messing around with the alignment station label group's style but couldn't figure anything out. As far as the line/linetype, I'm completely at a loss why that one wouldn't change.
Modifying the point size/text size assigned at particular annotation scale,
I’m wondering how the point size/text size assigned at particular annotation scale can be modified.
For example, in the attached screenshot, the point size assigned at the annotation scale of 1/1000 is big and I wanted to make it a bit smaller at that scale.
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
When I use a layout size such as A3 in paper space, the section view label text size is the same as it is in model space (when both annotative scales are the same). However, when I choose 11x17 as a layout size, the section view label text size is exetremly small.

I am having trouble maintaining the correct annotation scale in the viewport in paperspace and when plotting.
The attached word document has 3 figures. Fig 1 shows the correct viewport scale and correct annotation scale. Fig 2 shows how the annotation scale abruptly changes during the plotting process. This abrupt annotation scale change sometimes happens during the regen process or when I switch from layout to model space and back to layout. The annotation scale goes from 1:1 to 1:40 just as in the viewport. This change in annotation scale is not supposed to happen because I want to preserve a certain plotting height for my text versus a viewport scale by using various annotation scales.
I have researched the procedures for annotation scale and have not found any info related to this "abrupt change in annotation scale".
Curiously , this abrupt change in annotation scale does not happen if the text does not belong to any styles within Civil 3D. Stand alone text stays at the correct annotation scale and is not affected in the same way.
I've been tinkering with text sizes in model space and would like to have my point numbers consistent regardless of zoom factor. I can do this in paper space (viewports) as the annotative scale controls the appearance, but for doing analysis of points at various zooms in model space, it would be nice to be able to Regen and have them all come to a certain text size.
I've made some expressions that are modifications of those I use in paper space, but I can't seem to find a function/variable that I can reference for this purpose.
I have successfully created one drawing using annotative dims and text - I have set my text to 1:1 scale, height = 30 in paperspace (although I don't get what this refers to when it automatically says it's 30 in modelspace too) and my viewport is 1:20 scale. It's all good, the dims and text look great, which is what I want at the end of the day, however I got there.
But, when I want to set up another detail at 1:40 scale, I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the same dim and text style appear the same size as it was for the 1:20 detail.
The label associated to a grading point when is moved when is moved changes its size automatically and a leader appears. After this happen no control over the grading point and its associate label. refer to the image below.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dynamic block that contains both geometry as well as text. I don't want the geometry to scale up based on the drawing scale but I do want the text to scle according to the drawing scale. I have tried making the text both annotative and non-annotative in the block and get the same result. I can get the text to scale properly if I make the entire block annotative but that also scales the geometry which is not accurate.
