In the older versions adjusting the settings to negative numbers was as easy as highliting the text, clicking on the lead button and entering -0.075 Now, I can't adjust to negative line spacing.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthrough some difficulty I'm having in getting the leading (ie, line spacing) I want with artistic text, in CorelDraw 12? I have three lines of text, the first line of which has a font size of 20 pt, and the second and third lines having a font size of 13 pt. The default leading is greater between the first and second lines than between the second and third -- probably due to the font size difference. I would like to make the leading equal for all lines, regardless of font size, but can't figure out how to do that. "Format Text - Spacing - Lines" seems to offer leading only in relation to character height -- which automatically makes the leading between the first and second line larger (due to the larger font size used in the first line) than it is between the subsequent lines.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a jpg file of a very old Parish Map downloaded from web. It is unfortunately very low resolution with light cream background and faded printed information. Also the center of the relevant area has been colored deep red. Which tool should I use to enhance the printing? I have been experimenting with Lighten/Darken and also the Dodge brush but obviously not using them correctly.
One pass gives me some improvement but further passes turn everything white. There is very little difference in color between the background and the printed matter which I think was originally black.
I wonder if there is a way to do something like that in PSP: [URL].......
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to select an ellipse selection area around an oval shaped logo to create a mask or transparent background. I am trying to use the ellipse selection tool. When I use the ellipse selection tool, it makes an out of control shape that goes off the edges with a marquee and there is no way to adjust it. So then I created a selection shape using the vector shape tool, but I couldn't do anything with the selection after making it a raster object. I tried to flood fill background area...mouse pointer is there with bucket but nothing happens. Nothing seems very intuitive, clear or logical to me. you pick a shape and then use handles to adjust it to the actual shape is what seems intuitive, but that is just too easy.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
I found out that there is a way to show clipping areas in Photoshop when adjusting levels via an adjustment layer. While moving the slider, you hold down the ALT key.
I tried this in PSP X3 and it does not work. Any feature for seeing the clipping preview is available in Paint Shop Pro? It's a nice feature.
I have a grid set up. say 10X10 each. I then fill in each square of the grid. I get rid of the grid, left with 10X 10 squares next to each other separated by 1 pixel then I do an outline to quickly get rid of the spaces between each square.
Now I I have 12 pixel wide line, now I would like to do an Inline (negative outline) to reduce the line back down to 10 pixel (or less ) wide line.
Since it is not exactly a straight line, but rather than a zig zaging line I can't exactly use the pixel selection tool.

There are years since I worked in CorelDraw. However, recently I got a project from a client. I have to implement 14 languages translations into a document. The work is, so far, Copy/Paste from MS Word, paragraph by paragraph. I didn't find a better way, yet.
At a point I run into a problem. Inside a Paragraph Text frame the text has a strange leading, or something (See attachment).
PSP X4 does not save the last crop settings which I used. In older versions the program saved the last used settings (dimension of the crop frame in pixel) and this was a good thing. Now in version X4 this does not work anymore. Is there a setting to switch that on or is it a bug?

Any setting to solve this problem other than putting each letter on a separate layer?

I recently had to remove some sensor dust spots from three bracketed images I was using for HDR. I used the "Makeover" tool on each image. I understand that in Lightroom, you can copy setting like this from one image to others. That would save a lot of time rather than removing the spots from each individual image.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I use adjustments like brightness/contrast, PSP seems to remember those settings, because the next time I use them, they start with the same values as I used before. But I do not want that. This way I always have to move all sliders to their zero position before adjusting. Every image needs different values and I always like to start from scratch (zero values).
So, how can I tell PSP not to remember those settings every time?
Is it me or is leading only affecting the bottom line/sentence of the line HIGHLIGHTED in CC?
Before, if I wanted to set the leading, I would highlight the line I want to affect and set it...that selected sentence would be the one to shift up or down. Now, the leading affects the sentence BELOW the sentence I highlighted.
Is there some setting to switch it back?
When I use the Smart Photo Fix command, and check Advanced Settings I see the black & white correction options, BUT I do NOT see the before & after left & right preview panes that are necessary to let me choose black & white & grey points on my image.
There seems to be another post/thread on this topic BUT unfortunately I cannot open that post: when I try I see the message: No post matches the time frame selected even though I have set this to ALL POSTS.
I am using Paint Shop Pro X6. I am an experienced Paint Shop user. Today, I must have done something strange, because now when I use the clone tool, instead of getting what normally occurs, the cloned area consists only of large dots--similar to what a half-tone photograph looks like under high magnification. The dots are the proper color.
Is there a way to reset Paint Shop Pro to default settings as the software existed when it was installed? That might solve my problem.
On Illustrator CC. Set up a new document, setup 4 artboards with a 10mm spacing between each board... hit OK. Now how do I change this spacing now? I can't find reference to it anywhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).
In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.
The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course).

I want to put my text at the bottom of the circle and have in go left to right with the text right side up. But every time I try and put the text at the bottom of the circle the text is upside down and right to left.

Suppose I have loaded a .JPG file into PSPX3. Now I want to draw a smooth curve on this picture by picking a suitable set of points in the picture that will be connected smoothly with a nice curve. All I am able to perform is drawing a somehow ragged curve by (approximately) moving the cursor along the envisioned curve, but this ends up just looking awful. From my math studies, I remember something that is called a (B-)spline curve. Is there any version of PSPX... that allows (B-)spline curves? Similar/easier: simple polygons?
Always when i cut a photo in Corel X3, save it and look to it in a other photo program, Then i have on the left side and the bottom side a white line of 1 pixel.
When i cut a photo from (for example) 1200x1600 and cut a piece from it (for example) 500x500 and i save it, i must always again cut the white line and again make it tot 500x500 pixels.
I made a selection with the Freehand-Tools and I need to make a Stroke in the selection line! How can I do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a selection in a picture, the selection dotted line shows a coloured border, which is the colour of the second choice in the Materials palette. Especially if I make an addition to the selection, this coloured line runs right through the selected figure. If I copy the selection, undo the selection and then paste as a new layer, the coloured border, especially in added areas, remains visible.

I have drawn hundreds of straight lines with arrowheads (in PSP X2) in the past.But now I need the first time to draw a round line (approx half of a full circle).I tried a couple of variants and expected a three-step-drawing:
