Paint Shop Pro :: How To Draw Round Line (with Arrowhead)
Oct 5, 2013
I have drawn hundreds of straight lines with arrowheads (in PSP X2) in the past. But now I need the first time to draw a round line (approx half of a full circle).I tried a couple of variants and expected a three-step-drawing:
First click to place a start node then click a middle node and finally third click the end node.Afterwards I should be able to move the middle node and PSP should complete a round arrow line. But I cannot achieve this.
It happens e.g. always that an area is created and filled with red color.I don't want to fill an area - just one line. What exactly do I have to select in the parameter toolbar for "Mode" "Contour" "Connect segments" "Miter Join",.
I've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).
In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.
The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course).
All the default arrowheads are sharp corners. I need to make an arrowhead that looks sort of like Arial Rounded, where the arrowhead itself is rounded at the point and on the ends.
While I have been using PSP for many years (but currently using version 9), I don't get into major editing of shapes and text effects. So, not having a graphic design education, I get very annoyed when I can't figure out how to do certain very simple things.
Right now, all I want to do is draw a beige box on a green background. But I don't want a filled in box, I want an outlined box. Beige lines, if you will. Not sure how to describe it other than it should be a box drawn in beige. But all I am getting is a solid filled beige box, not a nice "outlined" box. I'm looking at the book that came with the software, and still can't figure it out. It should be a very simple thing to do.
I cannot produce Curved Lines (read: Arcs). I'm wondering if the capability to do this in the PSP X5 program is glitchy--perhaps requires a fix? Normally, I formulate short-cuts or 'tricks'--nothing has worked here for my purposes however.
I will train people in a visual task. Therefore, I need to draw stimuli with low contrast to stimulate the participants. As my standard 24-Bit RGB stimuli aren't satisfying, my second supervisor told me to use 1024 grayscale.
I tried different editing software (PaintShop Photo, Photo-Paint, CorelDRAW and also gimp). I can only change between 8- and 16 Bit grayscale respectively 24/48 Bit RGB or CMYK. However, as soon as I try to change the contrast (i.e. by the use of the histrogram), I only have 256 grayscale values.
This is for CS4. I want to apply two arrowheads of different sizes to one end and the other end of a line. This is not possible with CS4 under "Add Arrowhead" where the size of the arrowhead (Scale) applies to both the Start and End arrowheads.Illustrator allows to apply several instances of an effect to an object. So I apply one instance of "Add Arrowheads" for the Start end with a given arrowhead Scale (size of arrowhead), and another instance of "Add Arrowheads" for the other End with a different Scale. The second "Add Arrowheads" instance of the effect does not behave at all as expected (it adds two "disfigured" arrowheads even though I ask for one arrowhead only). How can I use two working instances of "Add Arrowheads" to reach my goal?
I have gotten to a point where I have the round text,, I have a seal with a blank space.. I would like to put the round text into the blank space,, but when I try, and no matter how I try,, the text is a white square with round text on it when I try to place it in the circle.
The other thought that came to me,, what if ..(the text circle size was a guess) the text does not fit.. how do I expand or collape it? I know I have in the pass while playing with round text.. gone back to that effect and changed angles, start points etc.. is that the only way?
I have attached what I have so far. ( I tried to attach the Paint.net file but I guess you can't, so these are the two I am working on,, as layers in Paint.net)
How can I remove an existing arrowhead from a line? If I delete the line/arrowhead, remove any arrowhead designation in "Add Arrowheads" dialog and draw a different line, the arrowhead still appears. Also, is Is there a way to change the line weight, thinner, without changing the size of the existing arrowheads OR change the size of the arrowhead without affecting the line?
I know how to get the text on the cirle line but when I type in the text, it will only read from left to right. I want to put my text at the bottom of the circle and have in go left to right with the text right side up. But every time I try and put the text at the bottom of the circle the text is upside down and right to left.
Up to now, I have been unable to find a tool within PSPX3 to do the following:
Suppose I have loaded a .JPG file into PSPX3. Now I want to draw a smooth curve on this picture by picking a suitable set of points in the picture that will be connected smoothly with a nice curve. All I am able to perform is drawing a somehow ragged curve by (approximately) moving the cursor along the envisioned curve, but this ends up just looking awful. From my math studies, I remember something that is called a (B-)spline curve. Is there any version of PSPX... that allows (B-)spline curves? Similar/easier: simple polygons?
Always when i cut a photo in Corel X3, save it and look to it in a other photo program, Then i have on the left side and the bottom side a white line of 1 pixel.
When i cut a photo from (for example) 1200x1600 and cut a piece from it (for example) 500x500 and i save it, i must always again cut the white line and again make it tot 500x500 pixels.
When I make a selection in a picture, the selection dotted line shows a coloured border, which is the colour of the second choice in the Materials palette. Especially if I make an addition to the selection, this coloured line runs right through the selected figure. If I copy the selection, undo the selection and then paste as a new layer, the coloured border, especially in added areas, remains visible.
how I can get rid of this strange artifact? I didn't use to have it, it emerged a few days ago.
I typed "text" in the help box, did a bunch of reading, but didn't see the answer to this. I have two colored text.....a thin line in one color and an inner color. How do I increase the thickness of the outer line?
Question 1. How would I make a cartoon drawing/picture or a drawing/picture with color, Into a drawing with lines only, no color. I use the gray scale option and that works great, but it still has the shading of the drawing/picture, and I want lines only. So is there some what of a easy way to do this?
Question 2. Once having a line drawing if some of the lines are a little shaky or kinda looking to pixel ish, Is there a simple way to smooth these lines out?
when i draw a circle in corel draw, i set the height and width dimension to equal, so it should become a circle, but it end up in the monitor screen an oval shape, also i notice the y axis and x axis in the corel draw is not equal. so i check my artcut y and x axis, is also same as corel draw. But when i cut out the shape, it cut out a circle shape. isit due to monitor or other setting.
In the older versions adjusting the settings to negative numbers was as easy as highliting the text, clicking on the lead button and entering -0.075 Now, I can't adjust to negative line spacing.
My floating toolbars have the icons across in a horizontal straight line, but every time I open PSPX4 they are stacked 2 rows or more. I have to readjust them every time. It remembers where I had them placed but doesn't remember they are horizontal and opens them with the icons vertical. This is with SP1 installed. I don't know if it did that before SP1. Don't have this problem with X3.
I have a problem with a recently downloaded version of Inventor. When I start a new drawing all I get is a blank blue screen instead of one with a grid display. If I start a line I can see the cursor change to draw the line but a line does not appear. I don't know if it something with how I installed the program or just system settings.
How can I draw a straight line without that protractor shaped dotted line following my cursor making it lag and also not snap correctly to the next line? Also, I have noticed that I can't set my user interface to auto cad classic settings. There seems to be no option for it in workspace settings.
