How can I remove an existing arrowhead from a line? If I delete the line/arrowhead, remove any arrowhead designation in "Add Arrowheads" dialog and draw a different line, the arrowhead still appears. Also, is Is there a way to change the line weight, thinner, without changing the size of the existing arrowheads OR change the size of the arrowhead without affecting the line?

This is not possible with CS4 under "Add Arrowhead" where the size of the arrowhead (Scale) applies to both the Start and End arrowheads.Illustrator allows to apply several instances of an effect to an object. So I apply one instance of "Add Arrowheads" for the Start end with a given arrowhead Scale (size of arrowhead), and another instance of "Add Arrowheads" for the other End with a different Scale. The second "Add Arrowheads" instance of the effect does not behave at all as expected (it adds two "disfigured" arrowheads even though I ask for one arrowhead only).How can I use two working instances of "Add Arrowheads" to reach my goal?

If I use the eraser tool to remove parts of a straight horizontal line, the resulting lines are not 180°.

To tidy up my maps I exported them to ArcGIS so I could join various ones together and also contour the maps. Then I exported the GIS maps into illustrator so I could attempt to smooth some of the contours as they are extremely jaggedy due to the nature of the data.Is there a way to quickly smooth lines or mass delete points that make up the lines?I am asking because I have 30+ maps and each map has maybe 50lines with each line being made up of currently about 1000 points each...
If I can't find a solution I will probably end up drawing over the contours with the pen tool and just smoothing it that way, as it should be a lot faster then deleting so many points.
I am currently using Illustrator CS5 and have access to CS4.
I increased my document from 8.5"x11" to 22"x34" and a black line of the original document remains. It is not selectable - the word "x page" appears when my cursor hovers on it. I'm working in C6.

When I removed the feature line from the definition of the surface, the grading did not change. It appears the points created by the feature line remain which is why grading didn't change. The only work around was to delete these points.
I noticed the same thing happens when I removed the surface boundary and inserted a new boundary. why these points remain and how to remove when I delete boundary and feature line from surface?

I did a magentic lasso tool of an image and now there is a white line from the outline of the lasso around the face. I tried control+D to descelt thats not it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am placing addresses on a mailer. I need to remove lines where there is a blank field (ex. apartment numbers are on some but not others). I have checked the remove blank lines option in the data merge drop down menu but it doesn't seem to work. I also did the find/change option once the file was created and it also didn't work. I am not sure what possibly could be going on. I am using INdesign CS6 on a mac. Here is a screen shot of the file before the merge, the setting menu, the file after merge and the csv file.

I am getting photos ready to be used in a Premeire Pro video. I was given these photo by someone who scanned them. There is a fine green line running through some of them. I have tried removing it with the clone and the healing tools but they don't work on it (they DO work on the rest of the photo). I cannot figure out how to get rid of this line. There are no layers to flatten. Any help would be appreciated. I have never seen this before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to edit the default arrowhead. I know how to create custom-arrows, etc. but I want the versitility of having arrow heads on many layers, not the zero layer or any other layer that the arrow block-definition is on; and I do not want to use the pointed arrow.
Where may I edit the arrow, or substitute my own; and in what format is it in?
I have a basic problem but I can't seem to be able to get around it. I added an image to a sketch successfully but it cam with a yellow line around it (see attached) and I can't remove it. In the sketch properties I was able to change it's color to black to make less visible but it's still there.
Any clue as to how I can make it disappear ?
I use the vanilla app and do vanilla things. Lately I have been interested in using some turn of the century public domain line illustrations, but often they are found with yellow backgrounds from the old paper.
I can knock the blotchy yellow out with levels and such, but I think there is probably a way to remove it instead of washing it out. I see that there are a few plug ins out there that might do the job, but I don't know if they are updated to work with the newest program on a 64 bit Win 7 machine.
Bonus question: Since some of the drawings are not the best quality, so vectorizing them has potential. I have played around with the trace bitmap tool on Inkscape and it is cool, but is it the best way? Is there a way to clean up a raster image without manually doing cleanup, or a plug in that lets it scale up?
I should be able to apply an effect to a line that has been made with the line tool. Why is this not working?I thought that maybe I might have disabled Effects somehow, but I can't think of anything.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using live paint to paint cartoon character illustrations. The artwork is brought into Illustrator CS3 and live traced. Then I convert it to a live paint group and use the paint bucket to fill. Everything looks fine no matter how much I zoom in. If I bring the AI file into Photoshop CS6 I can see a thin white line between the black line art and the fill. This is most noticeable where black meets black. I can also see this sometimes in file previews while browsing through files. If the white line cannot be seen in Illustrator is the file ok? I did just upgrade to CS6 if that would make a difference.

When I import this into a project, the Arrowhead option (in the Type Properties) of each type is set to 'none'. I do not see anywhere in the family editor to set that value to 20 Degrees Filled. I have created a SketchLine entity and trying to add aligned dimension by calling DimensionConstraints::AddTwoPointDistance(). It adds the dimension with inside arrowhead (see attached CurrentWorking.jpg), however, it would be nice if the dimension is added with outside arrowhead (see attached Expected.jpg).
if there is any API to toggle the dimension arrowhead accordingly.
I am trying to custom a new linetpye as below, with an arrowhead at the beginning and at the end but point to opposite direction. This is easy to build such linetype in Microstation, but I am new in autocad.
