Photoshop Elements :: 12 - How To Remove Line Space Before / After Paragraph
Jan 28, 2014
I am using Elements 12 and want to remove the extra spacing that is automatically inserted between paragraphs after a hard return. Is there some way to adjust the extra spacing before/after a paragraph in Elements?
I am running photoshop CS on my laptop which is a Compaq presario 1503 AP.
I have had this problem since I used Photoshop 7 and now Photoshop CS. When I want to go to a new paragraph or the next line using the enter key, it just doesnt work.
When I hit enter, the text just exits the text entry/edit mode.
How do you start a new line in a paragraph block? When I hit the enter key, it just returns to the front of the same line, overwriting the same line over and over again.
1. Clicked Text tool. 2. Dragged out a paragraph block. 3. Started typing and noticed that when it reached the end of the paragraph block, it just wrapped to the beginning.
I am having issues with tabs lining up for a current menu project I am working on. Im using paragraph styles and character styles as well. All prices shown have the same styles and sould justify right, but there are odd gaps.
In model space I set the units form my dwg (cm), draw a line (100units). Next i go to paper space, create a viewport. When the viewport scale is set to 1:1 the ploted line is 100mm in length (not 100cm). Why is this so? How should I correct this? Changing of units in model space does not effect the length of the line in paper space.
Can the "Basic Paragraph" style in Paragraph Styles be modified? How is this done?
I can bring up the Paragraph Styles Options diaglog by double clicking "Basic Paragraph" in the Paragraph Styles panel. I can also modify it, for example, by changing the font family. But when I click OK to save it, it creates a new style and leaves "Basic Paragraph" unchanged.
I know that the Basic Paragraph style can be modified in InDesign, but I don't see how to do it in Photoshop.
The text that we're using for the majority of our notations doesn't look very good at 1.0x scale so I try and adjust the paragraph line spacing to 0.8x as I go. I also know that if I create MTEXT and adjust the paragraph line spacing at the prompt it will "stick". However it doesn't stick for leaders and there's no real way of creating a permanent setting, is there?
Slight inconvenience of adjusting that setting each time I create a leader.
Words in a paragraph are splitting into different lines when it gets to the end of a line. How do I stop words from splitting into different lines in a paragraph.
I'd like to create sheet notes with different line spacing and paragraph spacing in ACA 2013. When I change before/after Paragraph spacing settings in the Text Formatting window, I get a message reading "please provide a value within range of 1/4" and 4". I'd like to use 1/8" for the paragrpah spacing, which is the same size as the text.
I am trying to create a paragraph of text & the text is not wrapping! I am creating a large text box, but the text just disappears when it reaches the right edge of the box. I know that I have been able to do it before, but now can't. I have closed program & reopened, but no luck.
I needed to remove a feature line that I used as a break line when creating a surface. When I removed the feature line from the definition of the surface, the grading did not change. It appears the points created by the feature line remain which is why grading didn't change. The only work around was to delete these points.
I noticed the same thing happens when I removed the surface boundary and inserted a new boundary. why these points remain and how to remove when I delete boundary and feature line from surface?
I'm in hopes there is a technique whereas I can paint within the black areas to remove the white spec without worrying about going over the edge, as I would with a black paint brush. I tried different brush blending modes (screen, overlay, multiply) didn't do the trick.
I have some large collections of images: columns of 8 to 10 images across with as many as 40 to 60 rows. These are exported from a program called CatDV Pro. Between each row is gray space -- my problem is that I need to reduce that gray separator between the rows to make a better visual display and also to get it to fit on the page of the book. I have about 30 to 40 of these image collections to process.
Some things I cannot do: reduce the size of the gray separators in CatDV Pro -- not possible. It is only possible to export the entire page of images together. Sure I could export each individual image but that would be a garganuan task -- not practical.
I don't want to cut and paste indivdual images or rows. Sure, it's possible but not at all practical.
I have tried Content Aware Scaling and it is not uniform enough. Some rows squish before others. I know about protecting some area in Content Aware Scaling but that doesn't seem practical either, not with 40 rows. Maybe I'm missing something there.
Here is a small sample of what I start with:
And here is what I want to end up with. (keep in mind the actual files have many more rows):
How can i remove the white space from this JPEG image (attached to this post) so that I can overlap it with another image without the white space showing?
The image is actually saved as a rectangle with the white space on the top right hand corner, where it curves.
I'm working on a plan that contains an xref with some elements that are not visible in paper space at my chosen scale. The xref is an annotated structural grid. It is entirely visible in model space, but in paper space only the grid is visible, annotations such as dimensions and section cut indicators are not. Strangely, or maybe not, when I change the scale in paper space, these elements appear.
Other presentation tabs exist, created by other people, that use a different scale and those presentations properly display. The annotations are blocks in the xref document, and I wonder if those blocks could somehow be set to only display at a certain scale. I don't see any such options in the block editor. Although, I have added to this document, I did not create it, nor the xref or the blocks.
In the screenshot below, how to remove space below text? I simply added a text box using the type tool and I get that extra space bellow the letter "B" that I don't need. I want to remove that space to center the letter within the octogon.
I added a number of clips to a new project and then realized the result would be too long for a good quality DVD. I've edited the ones I want to retain and deleted the others. The deleted clips all followed the edited ones.
However the space taken by the deleted ones still appears on the timeline although the clips are not on the storyboard. The project duration window still shows the original length.
Is there a way to remove the white space in my picture? I do *not* mean transparency. What I need is for all my coloured dots to be shifted closer together to be more compact.
In my drawing I have lot of MTEXTS having unwanted spaces in between the text strings.
A lisp to remove space from MTEXT. Here i am attaching sample drawing with MTEXT which is to be modify. Magenta color MTEXT need to modify like yellow color MTEXT.
Adding strokes to an object, often text (in this case outlined/expanded text), and there develops little unsightly "negative space shapes".
The white stroke has an Offset Path added to it.
How to dynamically rid an object of these? Tried drawing little paths over them, grouping them with the compound text path and using Pathfinder > Add effect . . . but nope.
The workarounds are obvious -
1) Expand everything, delete the unwanted bits. 2) Draw solid paths over the negative spaces that match the bg, like the pic below:
I know there is a terrific new feature in PS CC (I have used it before!) but I just can't find any explanation on how to to do it!
The question is how do you remove, from an image, a power line, or a telephone line by simply clicking on both ends of those lines in order to remove them?
I did a magentic lasso tool of an image and now there is a white line from the outline of the lasso around the face. I tried control+D to descelt thats not it.
I am getting photos ready to be used in a Premeire Pro video. I was given these photo by someone who scanned them. There is a fine green line running through some of them. I have tried removing it with the clone and the healing tools but they don't work on it (they DO work on the rest of the photo). I cannot figure out how to get rid of this line. There are no layers to flatten. Any help would be appreciated. I have never seen this before.
we have a strange problem showing up here on Autocad Architecture 2014 on Windows 8: We use the "space-bar" to confirm a command or shortcut. After start of AutoCAD everything seems fine but suddenly a hit of the space bar is interpreted as two hits:
Line <space> Specify first point: Specify first point: Specify next point or [Undo]: [cursor ready for next point]
No chance to point the "first point". It is either 0,0,0 or the last coordinate.
Using the <Enter> button (or selecting an icon) is working as expected / normal but very unhandy because on the right side of the keyboard. We tried different keyboards but this is not a hardware problem!
