I have a lisp program that creates a arch leader with a arrowhead on the end. All of a sudden the arrowhead does not appear on the end of the leader but out on space. Not sure what this is happening.
View 1 RepliesI am able to create my own leader style, a loop, similar to the "dot blank" option that ACAD provides.
However, as with any leader style, once you pick the starting point of your leader you must extend it a certain length in order for the arrow, dot, slash, etc. to appear. This is a draw back in tight spaces where you are trying to fit the leader and the subsequent text.
Basically I would like to know if there is a setting that will allow me to pick the starting point of the leader and have the shortest length of leader line while still showing the "arrowhead".
I realize I can scale down the arrowhead type to give me more space. I realize I can explode the leader and shorten the line portion of the leader. I realize I can create a block of a "leader" that will give the appearance that I am looking for.
However, these are last ditch options if there is no solution.
Whenever I tag an item the end of the leaderhead like the dot or the arrow finds a point and sticks to it even if that is not where I want to point. Is there anyway to move or override this point location?

This is not possible with CS4 under "Add Arrowhead" where the size of the arrowhead (Scale) applies to both the Start and End arrowheads.Illustrator allows to apply several instances of an effect to an object. So I apply one instance of "Add Arrowheads" for the Start end with a given arrowhead Scale (size of arrowhead), and another instance of "Add Arrowheads" for the other End with a different Scale. The second "Add Arrowheads" instance of the effect does not behave at all as expected (it adds two "disfigured" arrowheads even though I ask for one arrowhead only).How can I use two working instances of "Add Arrowheads" to reach my goal?

We do have a storm drain system running perpendicular above it and need to show the arch as a crossing. Corridor would work but I think I would prefer a pipe network-type solution.
Is there a system variable that controls the MLEADER arrowhead size?
I want to control it with DIMSCALE variable. How to accomplish this task?

I am trying to custom a new linetpye as below, with an arrowhead at the beginning and at the end but point to opposite direction. This is easy to build such linetype in Microstation, but I am new in autocad.

When I insert a stacked dimension in the top line of my leader text, the spacing gets automatically adjusted for the hight of the stacked dimension and it adjusts the leader line up so that it actually passes through my top line. Can this be avoided? I have attached a picture for reference.

I have some foreign drawings the block definition of "_ArchTick" has been changed to get a thicker tick in drawing's dimension. When I have new dimestyle and copy paste into the foreign drawings, it always use the drawing's block setting of "_ArchTick".
How I can paste a new dimstyle and bring in the block of "_ArchTick" to overwrite the one in current drawing?
Among about a dozen ACAD users in my office, one is missing the "Arch D (landscape)" paper size that accompanies the PC3 file we generally use. I have checked that the roll size and other settings in the machine in question and all of that looks good. I don't want to edit this PC3 as it works for everyone else and don't want to create a new PC3 for this one user.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen in Paperspace and using the Plot icon and choose Printer Name "PublishToWebJPG.pc3" I get a JPG created that is size 32 bytes, but is empty.
I need to create JPGs of drawings for a document. I have attached an example DWG and a resulting JPG.
BTW: I did try using SAVEIMG - as JPG, TIF, PNG - it does create an image with the title block, but not the model content.
i did the test with a qleader and everything seem to be functional but mealder have an issue where autodesk have to check this
example: i have a layer called test1 with color green i have a meleader with a Dot as an arrowhead when i go to the viewport and change the vport color to red
well everything changes expt the arrowhead which will take the layer color (green) but if i go to properties and i change the arrow head to closedfilled then it will take the vport color (wierd) i did the test with autocad 2008 to 2012 all the same problem
i did tried with a qleader and it works fine.
I'm using Autocad 2011 and trying to convert a 2D drawing into 3D using a Loft tool. However, I'm experiencing a bit of a problem. The Loft tool is creating an extra line between the two objects which messes up part of the design. I'm usind Solid and Ruled settings of the Loft tool and the two object I'm trying to join were created out of number of polylines which then were converted into singular poline using Edit Polyline tool.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe recently updated all of our software at my company from 2010 architectural desktop to 2013 autocad. We do a lot of architectural work where we use the "wall" functions to draw our floorplans. I have noticed that the walls are disappearing on some files and not on others. Or we will only be able to see the outside line of the wall, but not the interior, which results in an undesirable appearance to the floorplans.
I have also run across these error messages when opening the files, I dont know if they are related or not:
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address E43AA180h"
and
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address D41218AEh"
I have turned off or unchecked "Extend leader to text" (Multileader Style > Modify > Content > Extend leader to text) in all my templates.
Yet, when I start a new drawing using those templates, that feature is turned on (checked) again.
I've tested this several times. Yes, I'm using the same templates I've been saving. I've even created a new template from scratch with none of our standards in it. The check for Extend leader to text keeps returning.
I've tried this in both AutoCAD and Civil 3d.
Any way to duplicate this?

I have a drawing which has 3 viewports in it, two of the viewports are ok but with the third one when i try to have a leader from it to a text box outside the viewport in paperspace, the section of the leader within the viewport is blanked out,. I have tried bringing the leader to the front and sending the viewport to the back along with regenning the drawing to no avail. the leader works ok with the other two viewports no issue there but with the third one it just will not work. The viewport is used for viewing a location using a raster map image and it does show the leader / line object when zoomed out and disappears again when the line goes over the raster image.

When I add a leader sometimes the text appears fine and sometime the text appear to go bold, I tried retyping the text but it appears to be luck of the draw as to when it happens. I don't have a problem with this showing up on the screen but it transfer to prints on both paper and PDF.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to draw dimension leader arrows. I start "_LE QLEADER" and go to settings and tell it I want my arrowhead to be "closed filled". I draw the arrow, and it comes up as a "DOT" arrow.
I can change this in the Properties, but who wants to do that every time? When I go back to "_LE QLEADER" and go to settings, the arrow block is set back to DOT, even though I just changed it to "closed filled".
I used "rename" to rename my "closed filled" block to "dsfsdfsdf", in case the block got redefined somehow.My dimblk is set to "", as are dimblk1 and dimblk2. Tried both setting of dimsah as well.
I do not see any "CExxxxxx" variable which might control this.
My text style height is set to 1/8, however my leader text height is 3/16. How do I change the leader text height? T
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a multileader with attributed labels in a block, see included png file. The attributes are indicated by the rectangled text. As you can see the block looks fine, but the leader attaches itself to the insertion point of the block. I want the leader to justify automatically left or right, depending on the drag position of the block. One thing I noticed is that if the block contains an odd number of text lines the leader will automatically self justify. An even number of text line produces what I have here.

I put the multileaders in, they look fine, and when I close and open the drawing the multileader has extended itself across my text. If I edit it it fixes itself but it 'breaks' itself again once I close and open.

I place a multi leader (arrow and text not seperate mtext) then decided to change it to a different leader style let's say from ML48 to ML96. The problem happens when I try to change it again. It doesn't update to my new multi leader style. Example....from ML96 back to ML48 or any other style. It seems like I only get one opportunity to apply a different style.

How to have “circular” shape for the frame of leader text?

I am using vanilla autocad 2011. installed from the autocad mechanical suite. I keep having a problem when copying blocks, leader lines and text, they sometimes apear bold in paper space. I have used the trick of changing the Z dimension from 0 to 1 and back to 0. My leader lines do not have the ability to do that. How can I keep this from happening. Autocad 2010 never had this isssue. Attached is a capture of the problem, you will see the bold text.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI designed a dynamic block to represent the profile of boreholes, and its different layers (depths, in profile) are linked to the respective description text by a leader.
Problem is when I flip the text with its leader, the tip of the arrow loses contact with the borehole. And as I flip more times, the further it gets from its original position.
Is there a way to have the Arrow leader convert to Loop leader in one click. Our company standards use diamond tags and sometimes i have to change the arrow to loop by inserting a leader.
