AutoCAD 2010 :: Leader Text Attachment Results In Leader Through Text?
Sep 13, 2013Ok, I'm sure there is a very simple way to fix this that I just haven't yet discovered. When I insert a stacked dimension in the top line of my leader text, the spacing gets automatically adjusted for the hight of the stacked dimension and it adjusts the leader line up so that it actually passes through my top line. Can this be avoided? I have attached a picture for reference.

Apr 6, 2012i have a dynamic block that my firm has been using. we're updating our dimstyles - and our new leader is a custom (close to open 30 but with heavy accents).
anyway - i'm a little new and vague as how to change the leader within the dynamic block. i fiddled with it several times - but with no success.

Feb 8, 2012I have turned off or unchecked "Extend leader to text" (Multileader Style > Modify > Content > Extend leader to text) in all my templates.
Yet, when I start a new drawing using those templates, that feature is turned on (checked) again.
I've tested this several times. Yes, I'm using the same templates I've been saving. I've even created a new template from scratch with none of our standards in it. The check for Extend leader to text keeps returning.
I've tried this in both AutoCAD and Civil 3d.
Any way to duplicate this?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Leader Text Thickness
Oct 4, 2012I am currently using AutoCAD 2011LT. When I add a leader sometimes the text appears fine and sometime the text appear to go bold, I tried retyping the text but it appears to be luck of the draw as to when it happens. I don't have a problem with this showing up on the screen but it transfer to prints on both paper and PDF.

Jan 10, 2012I don't normally deal with multileaders with text although a drawing I have has been done with these.
The leader is justified to the left of the text. If I drag the position of the leader head to the right hand side of the text, the leader still starts from the left hand side of the text (goes at the bottom of the text) so how would I justify the leader position of a multileader to the right hand side of the text?
I had a quick look in the properties pane earlier although am fairly busy and it is only a trivial issue.

Sep 18, 2013I have noticed on several drawings that the multileaders change themselves when the drawing is closed and opened again. I put the multileaders in, they look fine, and when I close and open the drawing the multileader has extended itself across my text. If I edit it it fixes itself but it 'breaks' itself again once I close and open.

Jun 19, 2012I am having trouble getting my text height to change user the 'textsize' system variable.
When I input a new height at the command prompt using 'textsize' the text height in the text style dialogue box does not automatically change to match. Also when I use the dtext or mtext command after changing the textsize value, these commands use the value in the text style dialogue box instead.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Ribbon Combo Box - Text Height
Jan 18, 2013When creating Mtext, I can't figure out how to specify a given height using the ribbon. Clicking on the "A" on the "Home" tab brings up the "Text Editor" ribbon and displays the Mtext editor in the drawing area. On the "Style" panel of the Text Editor ribbon is a drop-down box with a default height of 1/8". Clicking on this drop-down box gives the list, 1/8", 1/4", 1'-6", 1/8", and 3/16". It appears those are my only choices, but I need to make Mtext that is 1'-0" high. If I try to highlight the size selected in the drop-down box and type in 1'-0", AutoCAD erases my typing, replacing it with the 1'-6" choice (or some other member of the preset list). It does this whether or not I have typed text in the Mtext editor, highlighted that text, etc.
If I hover the mouse over the drop-down box, a tooltip comes up that says "Ribbon Combo Box - Text Height / Press F1 for more help." Pressing F1 brings up the Autodesk Exchange window which is blank except for a spinning wheel animation in the center that never stops. The promised "help" never appears.
Right now my only workaround is to create Mtext using one of the heights that AutoCAD has chosen to make available, then select it and change its height using the Properties palette, which may or may not be so easy depending on whether the height I need is very different from the height I was forced to use and the zoom factor of my view (the created mtext might show up as an almost invisible dot, forcing me to play "Where's Waldo" to select it). This is an almost unusable kluge. How can I set the size when creating the Mtext, not afterwards? How is the list of sizes available in the drop-down box determined?

Jun 20, 2012I want to set the Textheight system variable using Autolisp. However 'textsize won't work.
I am setting up a routine so that when I want to draw a 1:100 scale drawing my dimscale is set to 100 and my textheight is set to 350. Likewise when I want a 1:50 drawing my dimscale is 50 and text height is 175. This way I don't have to keep changing the height setting when I'm using dtext and mtext.

I am having trouble with changing the text height of attributes in a block. I know that I can normally use BATTMAN and ATTSYNC to change the text height, but those are not working in my case.
I am using a point parameter and STRETCH action to enable my attributes to be moved, while the main object stays in place. When the attributes are not tied to the point parameter and I use BATTMAN in the block editor, the block will insert with any changes to attribute text height. When they are tied to the parameter and I use BATTMAN in the block editor, the block will insert with the attributes at the text height that they were created at. The only way I can change the text height is to use BATTMAN in model space.
I can work with this, but it would be easier to use BATTMAN in the block editor since my attributes are aligned vertically and changing the text size ruins the spacing between them. It would be much easier to both change the text size and respace in the block editor.

I have tried to change it by creating a new text style manually with the text height I require and then through VBA set the view label to use that style.
The View label takes on the new style but does not change the text height.
I have tried to use 'StyleOverride FontSize=' but I have text that is multi lined and using this command converts all my text onto one line.
Is it possible to change the text height of a drawing view label through VBA?

The number for the height that I changed stays saved however the actual text height on the drawing does not, not even after I tell it to update.

Feb 22, 2012In the old versions of autoCAD I could select everything in the drawing and use the text style pull-down to select the text style I wanted all of the existing text to be and it would change it when the style was selected. Is there not a way to do this in AutoCAD 2011 without using the quick select feature in the properties dialog box?
I solved the same problem with dimensions by turning the dimension toolbar on but the text toolbar doesn't have the style as an option on it.

I tried changing the layer thickness and making sure the settings were such that the leader line thickness would be determined by the layer. Oct 9, 2013I have a drawing which has 3 viewports in it, two of the viewports are ok but with the third one when i try to have a leader from it to a text box outside the viewport in paperspace, the section of the leader within the viewport is blanked out,. I have tried bringing the leader to the front and sending the viewport to the back along with regenning the drawing to no avail. the leader works ok with the other two viewports no issue there but with the third one it just will not work. The viewport is used for viewing a location using a raster map image and it does show the leader / line object when zoomed out and disappears again when the line goes over the raster image.

Mar 17, 2012I am trying to draw dimension leader arrows. I start "_LE QLEADER" and go to settings and tell it I want my arrowhead to be "closed filled". I draw the arrow, and it comes up as a "DOT" arrow.
I can change this in the Properties, but who wants to do that every time? When I go back to "_LE QLEADER" and go to settings, the arrow block is set back to DOT, even though I just changed it to "closed filled".
I used "rename" to rename my "closed filled" block to "dsfsdfsdf", in case the block got redefined somehow.My dimblk is set to "", as are dimblk1 and dimblk2. Tried both setting of dimsah as well.
I do not see any "CExxxxxx" variable which might control this.
AutoCad :: How To Change Height Of The Points
Aug 8, 2012I am trying to change the height of the points. "pntelev layer" all at one time. The drawing was giving to me by our surveyor, and I am having a hard time finding a command to edit multiple points at the same time.
I can select one point and utilize block editor to change the height, but is there a way to select multiple points and edit all of them at one time?
I am using AutoCad 2012 and I believe that is one of my issues, b/c in the past when using Civil3D I had a points tab, and that is where we went to edit things like this.

I work for a company that uses a lot of custom details using AutoCAD and have now decided to switch them up and use different layers, fonts & styles. So far I have been able to come up with some script changing the styles of how we want the fonts to look, but I am trying to select one font style, change the layer & color of that text, then close the file.
