Paint Shop Pro :: Script To Draw Triangles Within Triangle?
Jan 13, 2013I'd like to draw a 10-inch equilateral triangle, and then fill it with 0.5-inch triangles.

View 14 RepliesWhile I have been using PSP for many years (but currently using version 9), I don't get into major editing of shapes and text effects. So, not having a graphic design education, I get very annoyed when I can't figure out how to do certain very simple things.
Right now, all I want to do is draw a beige box on a green background. But I don't want a filled in box, I want an outlined box. Beige lines, if you will. Not sure how to describe it other than it should be a box drawn in beige. But all I am getting is a solid filled beige box, not a nice "outlined" box. I'm looking at the book that came with the software, and still can't figure it out. It should be a very simple thing to do.
How do you draw a triangle in photoshop?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).
In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.
The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI cannot produce Curved Lines (read: Arcs). I'm wondering if the capability to do this in the PSP X5 program is glitchy--perhaps requires a fix? Normally, I formulate short-cuts or 'tricks'--nothing has worked here for my purposes however.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have drawn hundreds of straight lines with arrowheads (in PSP X2) in the past.But now I need the first time to draw a round line (approx half of a full circle).I tried a couple of variants and expected a three-step-drawing:
First click to place a start node then click a middle node and finally third click the end node.Afterwards I should be able to move the middle node and PSP should complete a round arrow line.But I cannot achieve this.
It happens e.g. always that an area is created and filled with red color.I don't want to fill an area - just one line.What exactly do I have to select in the parameter toolbar for "Mode" "Contour" "Connect segments" "Miter Join",.
I will train people in a visual task. Therefore, I need to draw stimuli with low contrast to stimulate the participants. As my standard 24-Bit RGB stimuli aren't satisfying, my second supervisor told me to use 1024 grayscale.
I tried different editing software (PaintShop Photo, Photo-Paint, CorelDRAW and also gimp). I can only change between 8- and 16 Bit grayscale respectively 24/48 Bit RGB or CMYK. However, as soon as I try to change the contrast (i.e. by the use of the histrogram), I only have 256 grayscale values.
I want to draw triangle in segment of polyline in segment direction.
I have target segment and center point of it:
Polyline line = ...
LineSegment3d centerSegment = line.GetLineSegmentAt(centerSegmentIndex);
Point3d centerPosition = centerSegment.MidPoint;
I can find direction of this segment:
Vector3d zaDirection = line.GetLineSegmentAt(centerSegmentIndex).Direction;
Next, I create list of points:
List<Point3d> points = new List<Point3d>();
points.Add(centerPosition);
points.Add(centerPosition.Add(new Vector3d(ZASize, +ZASize, 0)));
points.Add(centerPosition.Add(new Vector3d(ZASize, -ZASize, 0)));
And draw it:
wd.Geometry.Polygon(new Point3dCollection(points.ToArray()));
Ok, I have triangle but... it's not in segment direction, it's X-direction.
I try to rotate it:
points.Add(centerPosition.Add(new Vector3d(ZASize, +ZASize, 0)).RotateBy(0, zaDirection, centerPosition));
But it's not the same as I want.
How I can draw triangle by serment direction?
I would like to create a triangle, but with (really) round corners. Not just the points rounded off a little, but the corners going around evenly like circles.
(see infantile free-hand drawing attachment as an example)
Is this to accomplish in an easy manner?
edit:
The attachment seems to be missing, so here's a link: [URL].......
So when I create a triangle by using the star shape tool and only giving it three points. When I have my triangle, I duplicate it and make it smaller. I center them both up on the canvas, but they don't look centered. As you can see in the picture provided, the bottom has more of a width that the others. I've tried using the alignment tool and the smart guides. I do resize the triangle using shift so it doesn't mess up the shape too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
How do I draw railway tracks on a map?
railway tracks can consist of 2 parallel lines with small lines across them or a single line with small lines across it.
edit I guess I should be looking for a railway brush ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a text using the "chip away" filter and really liked the way it looked. Then I wanted to glowing hot filter to add some cracks into the text, to make it look like lava was coming out of it, but every time .
I try this the background turns completely white, or the text just becomes "glowing hot" and the "chip away" filter disappears.
I've been planning on making a Sci-Fi city in paint.NET recently, after viewing the pictures others made in photoshop and other programs (example)
I just tried to make one. It didn't go so well.
So, my question: how would I go about making one of these? What would I use to draw the buildings? (Line tool leaves jagged edges at 1 when trying to color.)

I need to be able to draw "squiggly" (multi-point)lines. Specifically, roads on a map. Is there any tool or plug in that allows for "squiggly" lines? The line/ curve tool seems to be limited to 4 points that act as reference points for curves only so it isn't any use to me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI created a email icon:
layer 5 stamp text
layer 4 rectangle (stamp)
layer 3 text
layer 2 rectangle (envelope)
layer 1 background
When I tried to work on the background layer, I realized I couldn't paint/draw on any of the layers except layer 4, but changes only appear inside the stamp's rectangular area.
I haven't don't anything clever here, I simply made a layer, drew a simple shape, stroked path, and added a new layer until I was done.

I made a drawing of a stone floor excavation and I used 'draw inside' to delimit the excavation borders as below:
and this is what it looks like with edit contents selected:
I also wanted to carry on drawing in 'Live paint' mode to 'colour in' sections (the above is just a small section of a much larger drawing), but because 'draw inside' creates a clipping mask, this object is now incompatible with the 'Live paint' paradigm! So I thought I would 'expand appearance' to continue and this is what I get:
My question is, is there a way for me to successfully translate a 'draw inside' object to a 'Live paint group'? The above objects are just simple shapes with a single fill & stroke.
