I created a text using the "chip away" filter and really liked the way it looked. Then I wanted to glowing hot filter to add some cracks into the text, to make it look like lava was coming out of it, but every time .
I try this the background turns completely white, or the text just becomes "glowing hot" and the "chip away" filter disappears.
I created a email icon:
layer 5 stamp text
layer 4 rectangle (stamp)
layer 3 text
layer 2 rectangle (envelope)
layer 1 background
When I tried to work on the background layer, I realized I couldn't paint/draw on any of the layers except layer 4, but changes only appear inside the stamp's rectangular area.
I haven't don't anything clever here, I simply made a layer, drew a simple shape, stroked path, and added a new layer until I was done.
How do I undo this layer fixation?
how can I draw a circle with 285 ticks or small dashed lines along the rim U know just like the 360 degree compass.
After that I want to write text following the path of these ticks.In other words radial text so the whole thing would like like rays of text coming off that circle.

After clicking on a keyword in the Keyword List to filter my results, how do you remove that filter to go back to where it was before? I can click on another keyword or I can choose Previous Import under Catalog, though is there another way to remove the most recent keyword filter? A keyboard shortcut?

I'm working on making a really awesome pic but I'm stuck. The style I use in all of my pics is by making a new layer, changing it to color mode, then making rainbow colors with a really soft brush. Everything was going fine until I threw some text in there. Now when I paint, the text stays the same color!

I do not import my movie files into Lightroom, I import them into Final Cut Pro X, but I cannot find where in Lightroom I filter the import. At the moment I am having to painstakingly go through the import thumbnails and untick the movie files, which is tedious and prone to error (I missed importing an important RAW file the other day by unticking it by mistake. Lightroom is so professional and quick to use with its presets and customization.

Without the (repeat () portion, it was working ok with selection window, however it only would run the commands for a single polyline. What needs to be done without overhauling the code? The lisp has worked on a drawing-wide basis, however needs to run on only on user-windowed polylines since there are other polylines within the drawing which are attached to layouts via viewports.

My .bmp file is in some funny state wherein selecting the drawing tool will not draw. Either with foreground or background color. It just does nothing. There are no error messages, so Gimp thinks I am doing what I want to do, but nothing at all is actually happening.

I want to increase their opacity, but drawing over all the lines again would be terrible.
The lines are all a solid black (although I have another layer with various colors) so there should be some simple operation I can do to adjust that opacity, but I can't figure out what.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided to draw a long box, 2 pixels wide and fill it with the desired color. That was all fair and well until I tried reducing my image and then the nice looking spider web line that I drew turned into a horrible black and white block line that looks crap.
So, I decided to try and get rid of it, and here I am 45 minutes later still trying to get rid of it. I don't what layer it is on, there are many layers, whenever i find the layer it is and delete it it then turns up in another layer in a different color. I've tried copying and pasting over layers, it just keeps coming back, I don't know what is going on anymore, it wont go away....

Take any image. Enlarge the canvas to create an area of transparency. Find out you can't draw on it. Click and unclick the buttons by "Lock:" in the layers bar. Get really really frustrated.

I have to wonder what kind of reasoning went into deciding not to have a line tool. It seems so simple to implement compared to all that advanced stuff. The only decent way to make a line currently that I can see is to make a square by filling a selection, shrinking, deleting, then delete all the sides of the square that i don't want. But this is so inefficient to do every time I need a line.
I had to restore my laptop to factory settings, which means I needed to re-install GIMP too. So I went to download GIMP on the site, and 2.8 was the only version there so I went for it. Installed my tablet too, with driver. GIMP recognizes the tablet, but whenever I try to draw, I get a semi see-through line, instead of a bold one - and there is no change in this when I change the pressure on the pen. When I used it before, it always changed the opacity of the brush in accordance with the pressure on the pen. But I don't know how to change this in GIMP now?

I can open up other files and the colors work perfectly. It is exclusive to this file. I pened this file in Ms Paint and it will only paint grey on this file as well.
