Dec 25, 2012I can scan and preview an b/w negative but it will not show up on the work screen after being scaned. I can scan a b/w neg and then reverse it to a positive for printing !!!!!!

Nov 16, 2012I was working on a very HI-res image when Paint Shop Pro X4 just quit. It just went away, no errors, nothing.
I can rescan the image, but it was a very large image and took lots of disk space.
Is this scanned in image still on my hard drive? If it is where do I find it, so I can delete it?

Feb 27, 2009I am photographing 2 1/4 negatives with a CANON 50D and macro lens. Then in Photoshop CS3 I was looking for the filter to convert the negative film file into a positive file so I can work on it with Adobe and then print in on my Canon printer.. I have tried to sample the orange base color and take that out and then invert and then increased the contrast curve.

Whenever I click on a column and go to object>graph> the column section is unavailable. I checked to see if the graph had become ungrouped, even though I never selected it. If I select the graph as a whole it does not say ungrouped. When I select a column the ungroup tab is greyed out. Does that mean my columns are ungrouped?

One of my most common examples: Layers in a specific XRef with names that do not contain specific string.
I tried XRefName|*[~anno]* and it gave me ALL the layers from the XRef (including the ones with anno in the name).
I also tried XRefName|*~anno* and it didn't list ANY layers.
It it possible to do this? I've read throught the docs on using wildcards in the filter properties but don't see anything.

Sep 20, 2010In X2 all I had to do was go to file- either 'twain acquire' or -'from scanner' and my scanner software would open in X2 and i could directly import the scan.
In X3 all the acquire choices are grayed out unless I first choose, file- new, and then a dialogue box for size options opens.Once I have a new (empty) file on the editor screen I can then acquire . Is this a new change in X3 ?

May 8, 2013I'm want to reproduce a differential housing. Therefor I need a part which is identical to the inside of the housing. In other words, I need a positive part inside of the housing.
I've tried to do this with Derived parts by placing the differential housing in a large block. But then I get a block where lining of the housing is missing. So i can't do anything with this derived part.
I have attempt to upload the file, but it is too large. Even when i try to compress it.
Paint Shop Pro :: Scanned Photos Appear About One Quarter Size?
Aug 10, 2011I have PaintShop Pro X3 and pretty much all the other programs. I scanned lots of photos (6*4) at a 300 dpi which works out at about 11 meg each photo (i think this was overkill!). However, when i created a slideshow these photos are shown as about one quarter sized. Is there any way i can correct this ? Should i for the future scan at a different dpi ? I want to view the images as a slideshow and am not interested in printing them.

Jan 12, 2013I recently downloaded a Trial Version of PSP X5, and one of Adobe PSE11. For my purposes, I find PSP easier to use and therefore preferable. However, in PSE11, a scan of several photos contained in a single file can be "auto" split or divided into individual files, and as such can be edited individually. Try as I have, I have found nothing similar in PSP X5. This could be a deal breaker, as I have numerous old photos to scan and edit, and I find that doing 3 to 5 at a time is a big time saver. Does PSP 5 has this feature?

I reset the workspace to factory defaults and even tried the SHIFT-START - without luck. However, if I open any color images, the palette shows full color options. if this is a problem with how I scanned the document into PSP X5?

When I scan it the scanned image has thin white vertical stripes through all the dark areas of the photo. I have located a method of removing them using Photoshop (using layers etc) but cannot duplicate those 'instructions' using PSP X2.
how I can remove these thin stripes (they make the photo look like everyone one is wearing pin striped clothing).

Aug 3, 2012I've got lots of pages of B&W scanned images that are not quite centered. My usual method for centering them would be:
1. Open image.
2. Ctrl + Shift + N to create a new layer.
3. Select the Paint Bucket tool and fill the new layer with white.
4. Move the new layer down using the arrow button on the Layers window.
5. Select the top layer again by clicking on the Layers window.
6. Select the Move Pixels tool and drag the image until it visually looks centered.
7. Ctrl + M to merge layers down.
8. Save.
Is there any smarter, faster, fewer clicks way of accomplishing this? Is there any way of programming this so I don't have to visually center each page?(Also, I usually have to close and reopen paint.net after about 10 pages because the program isn't freeing all memory when files are closed.)
Paint Shop Pro :: Picture Frames
Oct 12, 2013I have an ancient version of Paint shop pro X. It worked fine for what I used it for-making note cards and simple stuff with photos. That was all fine until my computer died. OK I had the disc and install on new computer but now all the features do not seem to be working-ability to change color of the fill area etc.
Tried messing with that for a couple of days to see if I could get it to look like it did on the old computer-no such luck.
Now I download free trial of Paint shop Pro 6-great most of what I needed seem to be working and easy to do. But now I want to add picture frames and there is a very limited selection and when I tried to manipulate a previous version of a picture + frame+ texture only on the frame part-now the texture went all over the picture/space.
What gives here? I am very technically challenged and wish I could get my old version to work right and I would be happy. The layers of the new version give me a real headache and don't know that I can figure that out now-didn't need to do that on the old version. I was used to the old way and want that back on the new computer.....
