I was working on a very HI-res image when Paint Shop Pro X4 just quit. It just went away, no errors, nothing.
I can rescan the image, but it was a very large image and took lots of disk space.
Is this scanned in image still on my hard drive? If it is where do I find it, so I can delete it?
I am a newbe with pro4. How do I change a scanned negative image to a positive image? swap black for white and vis versa?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIn X2 all I had to do was go to file- either 'twain acquire' or -'from scanner' and my scanner software would open in X2 and i could directly import the scan.
In X3 all the acquire choices are grayed out unless I first choose, file- new, and then a dialogue box for size options opens.Once I have a new (empty) file on the editor screen I can then acquire . Is this a new change in X3 ?
I scanned a old portrait (1920's - 30's) that somewhere along the line someone tried to "clean" and brought up some of the image. Is there a way in Paintshop Pro X5 to repair the digital image, and if so, how do I do it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have PaintShop Pro X3 and pretty much all the other programs. I scanned lots of photos (6*4) at a 300 dpi which works out at about 11 meg each photo (i think this was overkill!). However, when i created a slideshow these photos are shown as about one quarter sized. Is there any way i can correct this ? Should i for the future scan at a different dpi ? I want to view the images as a slideshow and am not interested in printing them.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded a Trial Version of PSP X5, and one of Adobe PSE11. For my purposes, I find PSP easier to use and therefore preferable. However, in PSE11, a scan of several photos contained in a single file can be "auto" split or divided into individual files, and as such can be edited individually. Try as I have, I have found nothing similar in PSP X5. This could be a deal breaker, as I have numerous old photos to scan and edit, and I find that doing 3 to 5 at a time is a big time saver. Does PSP 5 has this feature?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI scanned a document into PSP X5 and I am trying to use the materials palette to highlight (in red) certain spots on the document. The palette defaults to grey shades only. I reset the workspace to factory defaults and even tried the SHIFT-START - without luck. However, if I open any color images, the palette shows full color options. if this is a problem with how I scanned the document into PSP X5?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to copy a black and white photo which was printed (old original 'wet' method) on matte paper. When I scan it the scanned image has thin white vertical stripes through all the dark areas of the photo. I have located a method of removing them using Photoshop (using layers etc) but cannot duplicate those 'instructions' using PSP X2.
how I can remove these thin stripes (they make the photo look like everyone one is wearing pin striped clothing).
Problems with the resize facility? The program does not allow resizing on some photographs but it does on others, even those taken on similar settings (same ISO) within minutes of each other. Pressing the resize option or the new button on some photos brings up the resize widow at top left of the screen with no data and only the word 'Static' where the original data should be shown and nothing in any of the other various boxes. Inputting data in any of the boxes does not work and the OK button does not work either. On other photos the usual resize window comes up in the middle of the screen with original photo data shown and all the usual options displayed for the required resize.
The same photographs which will not resize in X5 resize normally in my X3 version and I get the message "Requested parameter not found in the repository" when attempting to resize the photos on my laptop copy of X5.
I downloaded PSPX4 from the Corel site where I bought it. It is in my Downloads folder instead of Program Files. Then I copied it to program files and it still isn't even in a folder called Corel. How do I get it where it should be? And, I cannot find all the folders then go with it, like tubes, brushes folders etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPSP X3: Been trying to run program for past several months but program keeps freezing. Working with JPEGs or Raw(NEF) files, doesn't matter. Cannot find any rhyme or reason. Seemed like the latest update worked, but tonight had problems again. No error messages. Sometimes I'm editing, sometimes I'm saving, sometimes I have 10 files open, sometimes just one - no apparent pattern. Fortunately, PSP X2 works fine. Win 7 Pro 64 bit was a clean install as was X3. I've even deinstalled and and reinstalled X3 one time, and still encounter the problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with PSP x5 on my Win-XP pc. When I exit the program, it won't load in again. if I open the Task manager. I can see that PSP is still loaded in memory. I can manually unload it and it will start properly the next time. I can use it on my Win-7 pc without the problem.

I believe that the clone tool would take care of this but not sure how to create the image where it can be offset so I can use the clone tool.

PSP X3 crashes when starting up in WinXP Pro. It crashes at "Activating tracker", or something. PSP8 also crashes. I removed PSPX3 and installed it again. The same thing happened. So I downloaded PSPX4. The same thing happened. Other programs, like Panter 12, still function.
A file seems to be corrupt on my system, that is used by PSP since PSP8.
I am new to the PrintShop ProX4 family. I just purchased my first PSPX4 software, even though I have been using AfterShot for quite sometime. My question is, how do I prevent PSPX4 from being my default program for viewing images and or pictures attached to my emails.
Prior to purchasing and installing PrintShop ProX4, all my pictures attached to my emails would open up under my Windows photo gallery. But now, they open up under my PrintShop Pro X4 program and since I am still learning the PSPX4, I would like to convert back to the Windows photo gallery.
My X4 crashes ("Corel Paint Shop Pro X4 has stopped working" message) during the program start-up ("Initialing Palettes" of the splash screen). I have tried uninstalling and re-installing without success. I have tried installing X4 Service pack 1 without success. I updated my NVIDIA driver to the latest version, without success.

I have just installed PSP X5 and have found a couple of problems.
First one is when I close PSP the process still runs for a good 10 minutes afterwards and consumes a lot of system memory. I found this by accident after I closed PSP X5 and then decided to start it again. It wouldn't open until I closed the previous process.
Second, when I start PSP after the splash screen and the program interface appear I have to wait about 1 minute 40 seconds before I can do anything with the program.
how to improve this situation because at the moment I don't consider this acceptable?
I'm running Windows 7 32 bit with 4Gb of RAM, other than browser and email no other big program is running inthe background
I've got lots of pages of B&W scanned images that are not quite centered. My usual method for centering them would be:
1. Open image.
2. Ctrl + Shift + N to create a new layer.
3. Select the Paint Bucket tool and fill the new layer with white.
4. Move the new layer down using the arrow button on the Layers window.
5. Select the top layer again by clicking on the Layers window.
6. Select the Move Pixels tool and drag the image until it visually looks centered.
7. Ctrl + M to merge layers down.
8. Save.
Is there any smarter, faster, fewer clicks way of accomplishing this? Is there any way of programming this so I don't have to visually center each page?(Also, I usually have to close and reopen paint.net after about 10 pages because the program isn't freeing all memory when files are closed.)
Vischeck is a color changing tool that simulates various forms of color deficiency. I have used this plugin in previous versions of PSP, but invoking it in X4 causes a crash to desktop (Win7 64 bit).

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter almost perfectly working about 1 month long, PSP X6 now crashes in both versions, 32 and 64 bit, right after start. It displays the manager with the pictures from the folder used last time, then the HD is turning some 5-8 seconds more, and then comes the crash.

It did work until a week ago, when I last time used it before today, since then the only software installed were updates for Adobe Reader and Flash, and the usual Windows defender signatures update, nothing else was changed on the system.
Reinstalling Visual C++ 2008 SP1 32-/64-bit (above DLL seems to be part of it) didn't work, uninstalling and re-installing PSP X6 neither, nor playing around with the DEP settings, as advised by some MS MVPs on the net. PSP X4, still on my machine, does work.
Seems to affect both x64 (my usual use) and x32. During the startup phase (before loading command libraries, etc), the program frequently crashes IF I am not hooked up to the internet. If I am hooked to the internet, it starts OK, and if, after starting, I disconnect from the internet all is OK as well. I presume it may be checking for updates at startup and running into trouble without an internet connection there, and there seems to be no way to turn auto-check feature this off.
Since I can usually hook up to the internet-- using an air card, if naught else-- this isn't a fatal problem for me, but it is an annoying glitch. I mostly want to somehow get this into the Corel system as a bug report.
When I apply the mura copies, PSPX3 crashes.I tried it before updating PSP. I then installed another update, tried mura again, crashed, updated PSP to 13.2.1.20.UAC-never notify.Tried DEP in both settings.FM patcher wouldn't work with it. Tried several versions of mura.

It crashes and also I cannot get the "Computer" tab to open, only the "Desktop" tab will work correctly. Tried restarting it, same results. I use Win XP Pro SP3 and computer does not have virus, nor malware. Hard drive is 500G. Graphics card is updated and more than adequate.
