On Illustrator CC. Set up a new document, setup 4 artboards with a 10mm spacing between each board... hit OK. Now how do I change this spacing now? I can't find reference to it anywhere.
View 2 Replieswhen using the arctext command I am not able to change the character spacing setting. Also, if I select the arc text which I created and select properties, then attempt to change the character spacing setting my AutoCAD 2010 system reads fatal error and crashes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to resize the artboard so it will be an exact size in pixels. However whenever I use the artboard tool, the contextual toolbar will show me the size in mm. I went to Preference > Units > General and while it appears to be set to show pixels, it doesn't seem to affect the artboard measurements.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNo matter how I set the interface preferences, when I make a new artboard, that artboard is white.
The brain-dead workaround to this is to put a rectangle the colour I want on a locked background layer and make it the same size as my artboard, but this turns "Shift+O, drag" into "Shift+O, drag, M, drag, set desired fill colour, deselect rectangle, restore previous fill colour and tool and selection."
It seems like there should be an interface option somewhere that lets me set the colour of new artboards, but the only guidance I can find on setting the artboard colour says to use "simulate coloured paper." Simulating coloured paper is not setting the colour of your artboard. It is simulating the way ink always lets some of the paper colour show through.
I do not want my artboard to show through. I simply want it to be a different colour. When I press Shift+O and drag out a new artboard, I want that artboard to be the same colour. If I decide I would like a different colour, I want to change a single setting somewhere and have the colours of all artboards in the document change at once.
I cannot find any setting for this in the interface. Am I missing something, or is it just not there?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working on a project which involves over 16 artboards in the same document, though when i want to change the order of the artboards [for saving as a PDF] i have to move all my artboards content to new artboard, etc.etc. This is really annoying, especially when i want to insert a new artboard between some excisting ones.
So is it possible to somehow change the order of the artboards, or they numbers [basically the same]?
Is there a way to take a document that has multiple artboards and adjust all of these sizes without selecting them one at a time?

As I recall, you used to be able to change the artboard size when you first hit shift + O. There was a window for it at the top of the screen. Now,..for some reason that option is not there. It only gives me the ability to change the x and y coordinates. I have to double click the artboard tool to change the size of the artboard(s). How do I get back that ability?
is it possible to change the background color [outside the artboard] to a dark grey? because i really dont like having a big white screen while working in illustrator.when you normally work in illustrator, the artboard is indicated by a black border line but when you select the artboard editor tool, the background changes to dark grey, so it is possible and that is the effect im looking for, but then permanently.is it possible to do this via the preferences somewhere, or via a hack?

View 5 Replies View Related1.) I dragged out vertical and horizontal guides from the rulers and then created a new art board. The new art board now has the horizontal guides carried over from the first art board. How can I have separate guides on each of my art boards? I am using art board rulers.
2.) Is there a way to layout vertical and horizontal guides on an art board and copy them over to a new blank art board?
i have around 500 eps formats images with different artboard size.
i need to resize the artboard to A4 size and the images to be placed in the centre of the artboard.
I'm having some problems with drawing paths in Illustrator. Everytime I draw a new path, this new path shows up in the standard settings. The 'brush defenition' turns back to 'basic' and the 'variable width profile' back to 'uniform'. It would save me a lot of time if I could change those standard settings into what I prefer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe've purchased an eps file that claims that you can change the global swatch settings, but when I double click the swatch and change the color - it doesn't change anything. If I cursor over the entire art and double click the swatch to make the change, it changes the entire art to a single color. This art has hundreds of sections within it - with lots of various gradients in it. If I choose a single layer to change the colors in the gradient - I can't get the gradient colors to show up, nor can I even get it to change over to the standard black and white gradient. So, I don't know what to do here. Am I doing something wrong here in making the global swatch change? If I didn't know better, I'd say that the art has been completely divided.

I seem to be unable to change this to percentage. I'd like to change it to % so that text block matches my others created in coreldraw where linespacing is in %. The picture here is my Autocad 2012 on the left and on the right is what I get from another company. How can I change my style so the lettering is more spaced out like the one on the right? When using a hard-edged brush (round in this case), and using Shift+click to draw a continuous segment, the segment isn't perfectly straight at top and bottom. I know this is because of the "spacing" value of the brush, so the question is... can you make a global change for ALL brushes to have a spacing value of 1%?

I’ve noticed that after importing new files (RAW, I haven’t tried with jpg) into my library as I scroll through them (1-up, not in grid) the preview comes up and then after a second or so the WB changes to a much colder image.
Does LR4 initially preview at specific settings and then change to the individual image settings? Even if so, the final images seem very cool and I feel like I have to up the temp more than I should have to. My previous workflow was to sort in Bridge and then use ACR to import to Photoshop. I feel like I did much less tweaking of my WB this way. I feel like I’m starting from square one with LR4.
I am designing a website for a developer. he asked for a 1140x960px document built on a grid that is divisable by 12. so thats 95 boxes across.

How to change the line spacing for fonts in IV2010?
Reason I ask is b/c I had to change fonts from RomanS to RomanD, b/c the former font wouldn't print clearly enough for the shop and customer to read it (both in pdf and dwg/dxf).
The problem is, RomanD has DOUBLE SPACING as default, instead of the usual single spacing. I can't get the "Styles" editor to change the spacing in the VIEW LABELS and WELD SYMBOLS.
I'm using the "cross" fill mode trying to overlay some grid on a map. I would like to increase the spacing between the squares it makes but I cannot figure it out.
