I'm using Lightroom 4.4 on Mac.
Having an issue where all brushes and graduated filters are adding a warm yellow tint, no matter what the color settings are for the brush. The tint persists, even if I convert the image to B&W within Lightroom.
If you see the face iv used a smooth brush and its bringing out all these noise spots. If i try to darken a background its totally unusable. Iv never had these presets and brushes do this but the last 2 sessions iv had massive issues, Its happening on pics which i wouldnt think would have issues and have never had issues before. Lightroom 4 had none of these problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Lightroom 4 and CS6 on a win7/64 PC. When I edit a Lightroom photo in CS6 and save it back to Lightroom as a PSD, I notice that the PSD is slightly more yellow than the original Lightroom image. This is verified in the PSD histogram, where the yellow portion is a little larger and uniform than the RAW version histogram.
This happens whether I export in 16 bit AdobeRGB (1998), and Photoshop is also set to edit in 16 bit AdobeRGB (1998), or both are set to ProphotoRGB. The yellow shift can be seen when comparing a photo prior to and after Photoshop adjustment (no tonal adjustment made in Photoshop) in Lightroom and also when comparing the Lightroom photo and the picture in Photoshop as soon as it is imported. My monitor was calibrated about a month ago, so that is unlikely to be the problem.
When I view an image with MS Office Picture Manager, it looks fine... but when I open it in Photoshop CS3, it has a yellow tint to it, and I cannot figure out why. Even if I go to my color palette and manually input white (#ffffff), the "white" it shows is a yellow tinted color. This only appears this way in Photoshop. Does anyone know what would cause this, or how I can get it back to plain white?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use LR 4.4. Recently everything on my monitor in my LR catalog has a very warm cast. Even the white portion of the histogram appears tan, not white. However, my monitor is calibrated and if I export an image and then open it in another program, such as Photoshop or paste it into Word, it appears fine, with the normal color temperate. The color temps listed for each photo in develop mode varies, from 5000 to higher, but all have this same, almost sepia cast. When I print an image, they appear fine as well. Is there some preference seeting that controls the color cast of the catalog?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with my plug ins in Photoshop, which also includes brush sets.
There are all present and correct in the usual area you save them with in the application folders.
But when I want to use them in Photoshop either they don't show, or I get an error message saying I don't have the privileges to load them.
I am at a loss on how I can get them to work. These are fairly critical to completing certain work (graphics for distressed T Shirts) and would like to get them up and working before a project flies in and I can't use them.
I was able to add a few plug ins by changing the permissions on the files. But this has not solved the problem for all & I am still unable to get "MACHINE WASH DELUXE" to work.
All of a sudden, when I use my graduated filter while I am developing, it does not have any effect. I can see the lines, it appears to be working, but If I try and adjust the exposure, it does the whole photo, not just the section that I am trying to filter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm trying to use the graduated filter tool in 3.5 I don't end up with the lines or the marker to adjust it after I've applied it, the line and marker don't show up while I'm applying the filter and aren't there afterward either. Is there some place I need to select that as how it's shown? Also, I have a windows 7 laptop that meets the requirements for running lightroom but I'm having trouble with it not running very fluid-ly. That is if I move a slider to make an adjustment it doesn't apply it while I'm doing that it takes quite a few seconds and then applies it, which leaves me really all over the place trying to make fine little adjustments. It takes it's time to load photos and such which really isn't a big deal to me but for the little movements of the sliders or the curves I really would like to see what it's doing as it's doing it. If I had a more powerful laptop (or desktop but at this stage of my life I prefer laptop) would that improve that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI scanned an old, somewhat degraded photo, The horizontal center (i.e., top to bottom between left/right edges) is faded, getting better towards the left/right edges.
Is there a way to apply a graduated filter so that I can increase make adjustments to the center, fading out towards the right AND the left? That is, the effect normally graduates towards an edge; I want it to be strongest in the center and fade towards both edges.
When I make changes to a raw file using the graduated filter and then edit the photo in photoshop the graduated filter changes do not carry over to photoshop but all the other changes do. Whats up?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is a weird one, but I am new to lightroom. I have these pins on my image, which are all grey, and when I click on them, they jump to another image. I can't seem to figure out what is happening here.. I think they were created when I add a graduated filter,,,
I cannot delete them because when I click on them they jump to a diffeferent image... It's super annoying trying to add graduated filters when you keep jumping to a different image...
The problem I have is with the graduated filter in the develop module of LR 4.1.
I have installed CS6 and LR4.1 on both my new Macbook Pro and Mac Pro.
When using the Macbook Pro the the pin marker appears as it should.
On the Mac Pro no pin marker appears but the rest of the action is performed.
I pasted the same graduated filter arrangement into several hundred action photos. I then slog through them in capture order, nudging them one way or another depending on crop and subject. On the next photo, the first time I click and drag --the filter NEVER moves! I must release and reclick to get it to move. This becomes highly annoying after a while. Enough so to write this.

Liquify
Vanishing point
Blur -> All blurs except Smart Blur
Distort -> Lens Correction
Noise -> All options
Render -> Fiber, Lens Flare
Sharpen -> All options
Stylize -> Emboss, Find Edges, Solarize
Video -> All options
Other -> All options
Is there some option I'm supposed to select?
way to make a brand new preset, or do I have to load the custom brushes everytime i want to use them?

I used to move the ABR files to the Brush folder in the Adobe PS Program files, and then they would be accessible from the brush palette in the program. In CS3, I move them to the same place and due to the different interface, I can't find how to access them. Recently however, about 20 of the 60 brush sets have appeared in a random drop down menu.
Steps to reproduce
open new image
add noise
now try to add unsharpen mask or curves (there are other that dont apply as well but.....)
you can see the effects in preview
click OK and the changes do not apply
I recently downloaded a paintbrush to use in photoshop. I have photoshop cs6.The file I downloaded is an .abr file.
I clicked on it and it opened photoshop.I can't find the brush.
There were no instructions with the file. I downloaded from a free paintbrush website.How do I find the brush?
in PS, I can use the gradation curves with a pipette tool, looking for black, white and grey areas and remove tints from old photos and slides that I have scanned. In LR, I also have gradation curves, but the very useful pipette tool seems to be missing. Is there a way to enhance the photos as easily as in PS?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded some fills and brushes from Xara Xone, but even after reading the instructions given, I am unable to add them to Xtreme Pro 4. I unzipped and extracted the files to a folder on my flash drive. When I went to add them to Xara I could access the folder where they reside, but the files didn't come up.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi purchased a symbol package online and it came with these instructions URL... that i followed to a T. the problem.,. well the symbols and the brushes do not show in library for me to use. the package name showed in the library.. but when i click on it, the list is empty. how can i get them to show in the library permanently.
by the way, when i open the downloaded package using Ai, the symbols are there and i am able to open them no problem. but i can't get them to populate in the brushes, symbols library.
Wheever I try to use my adjustment brush in LR 4 I get a red tint as I apply what ever adjustment I'm trying to do.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using Gimp for sometime now.It's a fantastic program, but I thought the area where it lacked the mostwas the brushes. It only came with a few basic brushes, and you often hadto download extra packs for that something extra. This in itself wasn't ahuge deal, although if you had brush sets more like those of PaintTool SAIor MyPaint, that would be really great. Those program don't have as much asGimp, but they have some really great brushes, which makes them fun to drawin.
My bigger concerns is adding your own brushes to Gimp via imported brushpacks. While you say you integrate all files, the brush manager is lacking.If I wish to add a few brush packs to see what they do, the brush listquickly becomes clogged. You can't seem to delete brushes without goingback into the brushes folder which you first put them in, and then deletethe files. This also means if you like a few brushes in a pack, but therest of it is useless to you, then you have to have everything, or nothing.
There is a lot to be desired in terms of the brushes, and I hope you canimprove these soon. I stand by Gimp, even though people often call it awatered down version of Photoshop, but Gimp 2.8 has been a hugedisappointment for me.
On a final note, when choosing a new brush, especially for the animatedtexture brushes you include, I think it would be useful if youautomatically went to the brushes native size. This saves time and energy,especially if you are testing out new brushes. MyPaint has this feature,and I have found it incredibly useful. This also means I can just click thebrush a second time to reset it to the default settings.
I am working with CS6 windows. I am having a problem when I made a brush, and add additional strokes to the same line.
Here is a pic of what is happening. You can see at the beginning of the arrow, there is a blue and pink link showing around the beginning of the arrow head. I added the pink and blue lines to the same line as the brush using the appearance tab.
Now if I add a dash to the the pink and blue lines, this is what happens... There is a little pink and blue line at the very tip of the arrow head. My dash options use for both the pink and blue lines.
My question is how to I get rid of this little line? What I am trying to do is.. use the black arrowhead on line with a stoke of 1 point black, and then under that have a 3 point stroke of white. In the image what is blue would be white, and what is pink would be black, and the arrowhead is correct as it is now. I had this same setup in CS4, and did not have that little line at the beginning.
here is my brush settings..
I wish to set presets for certain color temps eg 4900 k 5200 k etc etc, since i am basically down to editing quickly by just clicking on presets.
The only think left i can not do this for is color temp and tint.
Any way i can create presets with just adjustments for temp and tint separately or only both together?
I updated my Mac OS to Mavericks. Now in Lightroom 5 I've noticed that in the Basic module the "temp" and "tint" slider buttons no longer appear in color, but rather in the same grayscale as the rest of the slider buttons. They still function normally but having the color appear on the slider worked for me in my workflow. how (or even if) it's possible to get the color back?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTake a look at the attached photo - on the left is a black and white photo I exported out of photoshop after desaturation but opened in pictire viewer. On the right is the same photo as viewed in photoshop - again after desatuation to convert to black and white. My monitor is calibrated and photos opened in picture viewer or other simple programs look correct - but in lightroom or photoshop they have a tint. How do I remove this?
