I have Lightroom 3 and using Windows 7.
I have a watermark created that I use when I export images using "File > Export with Preset". The watermark is rendered when I export to a TIFF or PSD file. It is not rendered when I export to a JPG file. How I can have a Watermark added to an exported JPG file?
Exporting with watermark is REALLY slow. Any tips on speeding this up?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my watermark in Lighhtroom. I'm selecting 10 pictures to export and I'm selecting the watermark checkbox in the export dialog box. The watermark is only showing up on 4 out of the 10 pictures. I have tried the process a few times, but I keep getting the same result. I have tried exporting only one of the pictures that doesn't have a watermark and I get the same result.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe image is correct when I export it to jpg or png, but the text is wrongly rendered when I export to pdf. Not always, in fact: three covers are OK. In the fourth one, the first two letters of the author's name are set in a smaller body. In the fifth cover, two lines of the title are placed to high, and convert the author's name, and the third line of the title is missing.
I cannot understand what occurs, and what characteristics of the cover triggers what seems to be a bug. I'm using GIMP 2.8 on Ubuntu 12.10.
Is it possible to watermark my images with their filenames in Lightroom 5?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnytime I try to export a file and add a watermark, Lightroom crashes. I can export without adding a watermark just fine. Lightroom also crashes when I try to edit a current watermark - as soon as I click the drop down menu to choose which watermark to edit, down goes Lightroom. I have both text watermarks and a small jpeg as a watermark (same thing happens with both) and I am running Lightroom 4.3.
View 9 Replies View Relateddeleting watermarks from Lightroom 4. I had a bunch of watermarks that I had created in LR4 that was a result of trying to redo a previously created watermark (why Adobe don't allow you to overwrite I don't know) but instead of overwriting the currently selected watermark LR4 lets you create a new preset from the changes. These changes build up over time and you sometimes end up with missing or moved files. If these graphic files are missing then you may or may not have ran into my dilema where when you select the watermark to try and delete it, the dialog box just keeps disappearing and nothing you do seem to work. Don't dispear, here is a solution I've discovered that I couldn't find anywhere else.
1. Open LR4 (Not sure if this works with other versions)
2. Select the Print module (this seem to be the fastest, easiest way to access and edit watermarks)
3. Select the check box next to the watermark under the "Page" pane on the right (this will allow you to select and edit the individual watermarks)
4. select the dropdown menu and chose the watermark that you want to edit. The dialog bot will open but beware it will quickly vanish in a couple seconds so here is my solution (at least until Adobe fixes this problem). Grab hold of the dialog box before it closes and hold it for a few seconds, this will delay or stop it from closing instantaneously.
5. Select the dropdown menu within the dialog box and chose delete watermark option, confirm that you want to delete and voila!
I would like to resize and watermark all of the image in a particular file. I understand that I can do this with Lightroom, but I do now know how.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like the file number text to show up on some of my exported JPG images. I need this for the purpose of looking up the original file. All I see in the watermark section is the ability to hard code text only. Is there a way to do this inside LR? Perhaps a plugin?
Alternately, is there 3rd party utility to do this to a whole folder of exported JPGs? That would be messy, but I really need to ID certain event photos ON the photo.
I just recently started having an issue with lightroom 5.3, I import a raw file into lightroom then edit it in photoshop (through lightroom) then i save the file through photoshop and it appears next to the original file in lightroom. When I export the edited image it also exports the original unedited file as well? how to change this? Its very annoying having the original copy of the file exported as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR4.1 on OSX 10.6.8. I convert my NEFs to DNGs at import, do my edits in LR. Most of the time when I want to create output it's for screen use. I use "Export" and produce JPGs.
But when I'm preparing files for printing at the lab, I use the Print module, and Print to File, because I like to create a JPG where the image size is smaller than the paper size, for framing purposes. For example, I use the Print module to output a JPG where the "cell size" is 11x14 but the "custom file dimensions" are 12x18, then I have the lab use 12x18 paper, leaving me a white border on my print that makes it easier to mat and frame.
Two questions, really.
1. Does LR do anything differently as it creates a JPG, depending on whether you use Export or "Print to File"? I'm assuming not, but just wondering.
2. Is there a way to do what I want to do -- create a JPG where the picture is one size but the paper size is larger -- through the Export dialogue (like ideally, through an export preset) or do I indeed have to go through the Print module to do this?
No emergency here, my method is working for me. (Though using an export preset to do what I'm doing, rather than having to go through the Print module, would be a little quicker, I suppose.)
I recently upgraded to lightroom 4 and I am having issues exporting my photos into a jpeg file. Lightroom is decreasing the size of my photo significantly, make them only about an 8 x 10 size and some as little as 3x5. I have tried everything I can think of, and it works as a tiff file, but for some reason it shrinks the picture on jpeg.

When importing the photos I converted them to dng. I have exported different file dimensions such as 320x240 and 640x480 without any problems. Now she asks for 950 x 340. I can enter the dimensions and export it, but when I check the dimensions on the exported photos I get e.g. 513x340.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAt one time I was able to export a file's original file name in the "Raw Data" area of the metadata. I seem to have lost that ability in LR 4. I find this useful when a client renames a file and then wants me to find the original. I would open the file in Photoshop (or even a word processor) and the original name would be in the Raw Data area in File Info.
When LR 4 imports the file the first time, it apparently still creates the xmp file with the file name at the end of <rdf:Description rdf:about="" field and it looks like: crs:RawFileName="_DSC6501.NEF">
At one time Lightroom exported that info. But now I seem to have lost that file name info, even with "Export All Metadata" selected.
This is how it would look in Photoshop's File Info:

I am having trouble with Lightroom 5 exporting images at incorrect file sizes. For example, if I use my export preset for images with long edge 2500 pixels and maximum size 1000k it is exporting images at 1500-2500k.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I attempt to export a group of approximately 50 photos from LR4, a window opens at the end of the process saying "The file could not be written" along with a list of approximately 10-15 NEF file names. I have never had a problem exporting before, but I recently started storing my LR catalog and files on an external USB 3.0 drive.
Here are the details:LR4 with latest updatesWin 7 with latest updatesLR catalog and photo files stored on external USB 3.0 G: driveTrying to export to a folder on my desktop on C: drive (46GB free out of 134GB, solid state drive)LR files are NEF, exported files are JPGI've tried to export to the same group of photos multiple times with different names and different output file sizes (8MB, 5MB, 2MB). Each time the list of failures is different.Some of the thumbnails which appear in Windows Explorer are corrupted (part of the thumbnail is gray)When I try to export the same group of photos to the external USB 3.0, it works perfectly!

I've recently encounterd a problem while trying to export images out of Lightroom 4. I keep getting an error messge "File canot be written." This is happening whether I'm exporting a Jpeg or a raw file. Cannot figure what has happend but it's doing it with old and new files, so it's not an issue of a corrupted file.

The first import consisted of pictures from Trip 1 folder on my hard drive, the second import was from Trip 2 folder on hard drive. I see the Trip 1 and Trip 2 folders in LIghtroom 5, but am experiencing problems with emailing and exporting pictures, getting messages such as "Missing file" or "Export does not show up. View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to re-edit -remove some parts, adding a title- a fullhd VSX3 rendered file which looks and plays perfect. I never have problems with VSX2/3 even when re-editing. This time, it first takes seconds before it opens in the preview window when I click the library tumbnail. It freezes (with created or without smart proxi) for several seconds when I try to cut, or whatever on the timeline.
It only gets somewhat better when de-selecting "audio while scrubbing", but remains still much more "freezy" than all my other (rendered) files. It's a ~2.5 Gb AVCHD file rendered at 18Mb/s VBR in VS. The only thing what is different is that it contains (pre-converted to AVXHD) SD parts from a JVC camcorder (.mod), but it all plays back flawlesly in several HW and SW players.

It all seem to work fine but when i try to play the rendered file error occurs - depending on video player - some player wont play the file one is showing time of video 00:00 but plays it in media player (windows) it is showing 23:40:00 although file is 3:11... simply rendered file is not working -

I am trying to make a book (and eventually send to blurb) but I cannot render any of the photos as I always get the same message "photo named xyz could not be rendered" where xyz is a generic name for any of the 15 different photos I have tried
at first I thought it was a problem bc some of hte photos are saved on a portable drive, then i tried all the photos on my hard drive, still no resolve
I have two very annoying bugs that are wasting a lot of my time.
This is LR 4.2, Mac OS 10.7.3
When I try to open a selected batch of photos from LR (usually around 30 photos) and right click on the filmstrip and click on preset that I have made to open in Photoshop CS5 as Tiffs, sRGB, 8-bits 300dpi, no compression (same as I had on LR3), the photos DON'T GET RENDERED in Lr before opening, they will open one by one in Photoshop, which is a pain because during this tme the computer will be unusable. AND most of the time, one photo of the batch won't open at all - if I select 30, only 29 will open.
I am doing a rendering of a timeline with approx 1900 frames. I am using mental ray as my render engine. After the rendering runs its course, approx 20 hours, it completes with no problems. I open the saved avi file and the clip only captures the first say half of the rendered frames. I have done this 3 times now and for what should be approx a 60 sec clip i only get 36 sec.

I have been comparing the embedded JPEG images with ones generated using the various profiles supplied with Lightroom. I expected the embedded JPEG to "agree" with the one generated using Camera Standard but that has not been the case with Nikon D700 and Nikon V1 files. I am now wondering if my expectations are too high.
A possible difficulty in making the comparisons is not knowing what control slider settings and Tone Curve I should use. What is the correct procedure?
I'm using LR4 and trying to export a .mov file. I have 4 files all taken the same day and two of the files export correctly and two give me this pop-up in the title. I have successfully played these videos as a quicktime movie on Windows Media Player before and after I received this message. I am exporting using H.264 at max quality setting.
