Lightroom :: How To Watermark Images With Their File Names In LR5
Mar 30, 2014Is it possible to watermark my images with their filenames in Lightroom 5?
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to watermark my images with their filenames in Lightroom 5?
View 2 RepliesI would like to resize and watermark all of the image in a particular file. I understand that I can do this with Lightroom, but I do now know how.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidentally included a file rename when I just imported a batch of several hundred pictures. I violated a rule that I teach my own Lightroom students, and that is to look carefully at the import panel choices before proceeding.
How can I correct this so that the files are named as they originally were? I know how to easily fix the filenames in Windows (using a tool called BulkRename, for example), but then I'd have to "find" each image one-by-one and correctly point to the renamed version. I tried selecting all the images and then using F2 to rename, but none of the templates allow deleting a portion of the filename.
P.S. Here is an example of what I mean:
ON CARD:
IMG_0001.NEF
...
IMG_0300.NEF
WHAT I RENAMED TO ACCIDENTALLY:
IMG_0001 {shot by John Doe}.NEF
...
IMG_0300 {shot by John Doe}.NEF
I'm using Windows 8 and LR 4.3. My watermark does not appear on exported images eventhough the box is checked in the export presets. Also many typefaces available in MAC are not in Windows. Where I might find the same typeface I use on my Macbook and add to Windows?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to export images from Lightroom 4 with a watermark. It COULD be text, but I want to rotate the watermark 30 degrees. I can't see a way to do that in the watermark editor in Lightroom...
Alternatively, I created the watermark in Photoshop, put in the text, rotated it, and saved it as a jpeg. I can't get a clear background. It appears jpeg doesn't support that. SO, I saved it as a .png (jpg and png appear to be the only two formats supported for a graphic watermark in Lightroom). It looks FINE, except in Photoshop the text is WHITE, which is what I want in Lightroom, but every time I open the .png file in the watermark editor in Lightroom, it comes in with BLACK text...
How do I get a Lightroom export watermark with the text I want in the font I want, angled the way I want?
I could use my watermarks without any problems in LR3 but after checking out the trial of LR4 this works selectively on only some of my images. Looks to me like a bug
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Lightroom 4 and I am having issues adding a watermark to my JPEG images!
I'm using a very basic Ariel Black text, medium size and very clear. The watermark appears fine in the photo preview but does not show up when exported to my Lightroom library file! If I export to a TIFF image it's fine but just not in JPEG.
I know nothing about scripting in Illustrator, but am willing and interested to give it a try if this sounds doable. All we want are the names--just a simple list of the names, such as
7009 LL.eps
Rsb shadow design.psd
3_Pt_STA_475_P3.tif
of placed images (in our Illustrator CS5 art) into text that we can either import (from a tab- or comma-delimited text file) or paste into our Filemaker database.
Right now everyone is RETYPING the names of all placed images into the database, with consequent mistakes, missed images, etc. Then when we search our database to find which art uses a certain image...results are not to be trusted.
(If we could cut/paste from either the Links palette or Document Info, that'd be fine... but nope. Not in Illustrator, although we were thrilled to see InDesign CS5 has "Copy Info For Selected Links", which is VERY useful.) In Illustrator, we can export Document Info to a text file, but artists seem to find that long document too unwieldy, and they revert to typing the names, especially if they only have a couple of placed images... and then we're back to error-laden data no matter how careful they try to be.
Is such a script even possible? If so, where/how might I start? We're on iMacs with the Adobe CS5 suite (and Filemaker 11, if that matters).
However in LR5 when I did the same process to choose to watermark my exported images,it would not allow me to choose to turn on the feature and pick my watermark to use. I am still on the Trial version... I'm on a MacBook Pro
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter taking a large batch of pictures, I want to place them in a folder and rapidly view the full images one at a time to select which to keep and which to discard. IN PE-8 how can I display two panes - one pane containing the image file names contained in a folder and the other pane which displays the image of the file name selected? Using the arrow keys, I want to move through image file names one at a time while displaying the image associated with the file name in the other pane.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible in Lightroom to automatically append/prepend directory names in the file path into the file name itself? Example:
DirectoryA Sub-directoryB filename.jpg (original file name)
==>
DirectoryA Sub-directoryB DirectoryA_Sub-directoryB_filename.jpg (concatenated new file name)
If this is not natively possible within Lightroom, any plug-in that delivers this functionality?
by mistake I imported (moved) several AVI and MPEG videos into a specific folder that I inteded to use as backup for one of my relatives.
Problem is that my original folders, where I stored these videos, along with specific names regarding genre and/or subject were left intact, with nothing inside them.
I am trying to find a way to "revert" the import process and send those files back to where they belong.
I have Lightroom 3 and using Windows 7.
I have a watermark created that I use when I export images using "File > Export with Preset". The watermark is rendered when I export to a TIFF or PSD file. It is not rendered when I export to a JPG file. How I can have a Watermark added to an exported JPG file?
How do I get the file names for the photos I imported into Lightroom 4 to show up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded from LR4 to LR5. LR4 allowed duplictes to be imported - one a jepg the other same file name but raw (CR2). LR5 does not allow me to do this. Am I mistaken or am I over looking something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Lightroom since V. 1. I have noticed that many of my file names have been renamed in LR (now V5.3) by changing the filename from "XXX_yyyy.NEF" to "XXX_yyyy-2.NEF". IF I look in the folder where the images are stored, both versions of the file are there. I went into LR and deleted the "-2" version and re-imported the original files. In some cases this worked and the LR file now has the original name. In some other cases, LR re-named on import and appended the "-2" to the file name. I checked and it turned out there were other files with the same name on the disk and in the LR catalogue, so I understand why these files were renamed. In other cases, however, there is no other file in LR with the same name. Yet, when I try to delete the "-2" file in LR and re-import the original file (as I did earlier), LR again renames my file by appending the "-2" suffix to the file name. It does not copy the file, it actually renames the file in the folder where it is stored. I cannot understand why the file name is being changed in this case.
why LR is doing this and how can I prevent it?I am running LR under 64-bit Win 7 with 12 GB RAM, the problem seems to have occurred primarily with Nikon D200 RAW (.NEF) files.
How can I batch change all my file names?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnytime I try to export a file and add a watermark, Lightroom crashes. I can export without adding a watermark just fine. Lightroom also crashes when I try to edit a current watermark - as soon as I click the drop down menu to choose which watermark to edit, down goes Lightroom. I have both text watermarks and a small jpeg as a watermark (same thing happens with both) and I am running Lightroom 4.3.
View 9 Replies View Relateddeleting watermarks from Lightroom 4. I had a bunch of watermarks that I had created in LR4 that was a result of trying to redo a previously created watermark (why Adobe don't allow you to overwrite I don't know) but instead of overwriting the currently selected watermark LR4 lets you create a new preset from the changes. These changes build up over time and you sometimes end up with missing or moved files. If these graphic files are missing then you may or may not have ran into my dilema where when you select the watermark to try and delete it, the dialog box just keeps disappearing and nothing you do seem to work. Don't dispear, here is a solution I've discovered that I couldn't find anywhere else.
1. Open LR4 (Not sure if this works with other versions)
2. Select the Print module (this seem to be the fastest, easiest way to access and edit watermarks)
3. Select the check box next to the watermark under the "Page" pane on the right (this will allow you to select and edit the individual watermarks)
4. select the dropdown menu and chose the watermark that you want to edit. The dialog bot will open but beware it will quickly vanish in a couple seconds so here is my solution (at least until Adobe fixes this problem). Grab hold of the dialog box before it closes and hold it for a few seconds, this will delay or stop it from closing instantaneously.
5. Select the dropdown menu within the dialog box and chose delete watermark option, confirm that you want to delete and voila!
For example, let's say I have a file on a hard drive labeled 2012. Inside that file there are three folders with photos and they are labeled Phoenix, Seattle, Portland. Is there a way to Import these folders at one time and keep the names, or will they all come into Lightroom only as 2012?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a hard drive published service configured in Publishing Manager that creates JPGs of any images that are placed into that published service. For the most part all the settings I specify on that service are adhered to when I "publish now". However one setting appears to be ignored and that is File Naming | Rename To:.
In the configuration of that option in Publishing Manager I have the rename to option set to "Filename - Sequence". When this option is set the example text it states at the bottom of file naming displays what I expect it be on output. However, when I "publish now" the file exports but with the original file name of the photo. Let me explain further. Typically when I've fully processed the photo I use the Lightroom file rename option to rename the file from the orginal import name to something more descriptive.
This seems to work fine with both the information in LR and the actual file name being correctly displayed. Even when I select the file for publishing the example file name show matches the new name after rename. However, the actual file generated always as the original imported file name. This happens for all files.
I'm using LR 5.2 on Windows 8.1.
Can the pictures file name be printed directly on to each image so that a preview book could be printed by Blurb with each photograph numbered.I can do this in slideshow but when I export the files for printing the numbers are gone.Several of my friend in the profession would also like the ability to apply the file names in this way.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI would like the file number text to show up on some of my exported JPG images. I need this for the purpose of looking up the original file. All I see in the watermark section is the ability to hard code text only. Is there a way to do this inside LR? Perhaps a plugin?
Alternately, is there 3rd party utility to do this to a whole folder of exported JPGs? That would be messy, but I really need to ID certain event photos ON the photo.
How do I rename photos on import without loosing the previous file names and captions?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 80-100 pictures from a senior photo shoot I did. I want to add a watermark to all of them, so I can distribute the CDs and not have to worry about printing without authorization. I suppose the best way is to create a layer with "DO NOT PRINT" and then add the layer to all of them. If there is an easier way without using layers please by all means let me know. All pictures are in JPEGS at this moment I know how to edit images on photoshop but I am not an expert on the program, what is the function or what are the steps I have to do to process all of them at once and not have to do one per one. Should I do it trough Bridge or Photoshop. Please give me directions step by step, dont assume that I know all the functions, as mentioned I am not an expert.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded [URL] Automator Actions for Photoshop CS5.5. I took ages customizing a watermark action.
I get Automator to resize the image without 'constraining propotions', the action itself also changes to the same size to make sure; Action then: places my logo, and selects all layers, aligns using horizontal centres and places it about 1/3 from the bottom;
Problems:
1) The watermark is not placed horizontally centre on all images, what I don't understand is some photo's it is perfect, others it is slightly to the left?I thought it may be where I have rotated images in Bridge, but that is not the case, then maybe if I have zoomed in on the camera; but again not the case, seems intermittent!
2) Bugs: I created another watermark action, tried this one but did not work great, so I deleted it. I now have approx 50 of that listed in the actions folder. I cannot delete them, the arrow is pointing downward and appears like they are all open?
I jsut got gimp, and I am using it to make wallpapers for myself and my family. I have a few pictures of my favorite baseball player and I would like to make myself a wall with them, but they all have a watermark on them. I would generally try and find pics without the watermark, but I can't find anything because he is not a big name. How to remove the watermark from the images.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI created a shape with text in it to be used as a watermark and want to use it on different images, however, the images will have different sizes after they get cropped.
How can I position the watermark in the same place on all my images regardless of image size?.
I have a large number of images on a website for clients to purchase. I need to have some way to number the images so that people can tell me the image number they would like to purchase.
Is there a way I can automatically watermark images so that in a group of 50 images for example, each has their own unique number in the corner?
It doesn't even need to be a watermark to be honest, and could be letters too..
I'm a photographer, and I would like to add a small watermark to photographs I publish online. So that people would find my name and website. I know how to add a watermark to a single image, but I was wondering if there is any way to add the same watermark to multiple images in one operation. This can be done in PS so I was hoping that there is also a way with Paint.NET.
