I jsut got gimp, and I am using it to make wallpapers for myself and my family. I have a few pictures of my favorite baseball player and I would like to make myself a wall with them, but they all have a watermark on them. I would generally try and find pics without the watermark, but I can't find anything because he is not a big name. How to remove the watermark from the images.

For this I am putting into the diagram, images of: servers, switches,racks and so on. What I wish for those images is to have transparent background. So far, I've been able to find decent resolution imageswhich it's because I've started with the latest hardware.Here's an example, let's say for our Dell PowerEdge 6850 servers if found this: [URL] ....
which by fuzzy selecting the white background, with a threshold of15.0 and some selection subtractions I've been able to turn to: [URL] .... which is nice for what I wish to use it for.
Now, I've been able to handle some easy likewise situations but nowI've reached the vintage hardware and got bad results. Let me show an example image: [URL] .....
This is more difficult to make it look as I wish since it's resolution it's not decent and it also has a shadow effect which hardens a precise initial selection which can then be worked out to a better result.
After some efforts I either end up with a pixelized image or with a severely chopped image.
So, my question is how could I achieve the desired result for this and such images?
For quite some time I've been trying to find the best way to remove a white background from images. I've checked out the sticky thread on this forum and as my image isn't of great quality and because it features quite a lot of white that won't apply.
Recently I found this tutorial which is supposed to work great (as seen in the comments). However, I think that because of a GIMP update that won't apply anymore somehow. I was hoping you guys might know what was causing it.
Everything works well until I get to step 7, where I have to select to Alpha. There it selects just the outlines, but my selection includes inner parts of the image, not just the background. And then after I invert and delete, the white that remains still has transparent parts that show up on the upper layer. So, am I doing something wrong with the Alpha to Selection, is that tutorial updated or is there a better way to remove the background from ie. a logo with just one background colour which isn't of great quality.
I need to remove watermark from a pdf already created. I have Adobe Professional 7.0. The instruction said to go to watermark and click remove but I don't have the option.

They didn't care about it back then as it allowed them to format their movie online. Before I put this very short clip in my memorial video I want to clear that out. I exported all pictures into an album on my computer. I thought I could import them back in and lightroom would recognize the history and I would be able to remove my watermark. I want to add a watermark to all of them, so I can distribute the CDs and not have to worry about printing without authorization. I suppose the best way is to create a layer with "DO NOT PRINT" and then add the layer to all of them. If there is an easier way without using layers please by all means let me know. All pictures are in JPEGS at this moment I know how to edit images on photoshop but I am not an expert on the program, what is the function or what are the steps I have to do to process all of them at once and not have to do one per one. View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded [URL] Automator Actions for Photoshop CS5.5. I took ages customizing a watermark action.
I get Automator to resize the image without 'constraining propotions', the action itself also changes to the same size to make sure; Action then: places my logo, and selects all layers, aligns using horizontal centres and places it about 1/3 from the bottom;
Problems:
1) The watermark is not placed horizontally centre on all images, what I don't understand is some photo's it is perfect, others it is slightly to the left?I thought it may be where I have rotated images in Bridge, but that is not the case, then maybe if I have zoomed in on the camera; but again not the case, seems intermittent!
2) Bugs: I created another watermark action, tried this one but did not work great, so I deleted it. I now have approx 50 of that listed in the actions folder. I cannot delete them, the arrow is pointing downward and appears like they are all open?
I'm using Windows 8 and LR 4.3. My watermark does not appear on exported images eventhough the box is checked in the export presets. Also many typefaces available in MAC are not in Windows. Where I might find the same typeface I use on my Macbook and add to Windows?

Alternatively, I created the watermark in Photoshop, put in the text, rotated it, and saved it as a jpeg. I can't get a clear background. It appears jpeg doesn't support that. SO, I saved it as a .png (jpg and png appear to be the only two formats supported for a graphic watermark in Lightroom). It looks FINE, except in Photoshop the text is WHITE, which is what I want in Lightroom, but every time I open the .png file in the watermark editor in Lightroom, it comes in with BLACK text...

I'm using a very basic Ariel Black text, medium size and very clear. The watermark appears fine in the photo preview but does not show up when exported to my Lightroom library file! If I export to a TIFF image it's fine but just not in JPEG.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I change the opacity on my text layer, the text does not fade. It disolves instead. The resolution was terrible, became worse and then the text suddenly dissapered.
I don't think it was the disolve type either when it is set in that mode. However,I tried changing the mode anyway
I changed the mode to normal, divide,. overlay, burn, soft light, subtract. Whatever I tried it made no difference.
I want to create some typography in Photoshop that will be used to create a web address that will be applied as a watermark to lots of images.
1. After I create the watermark, any easy way to apply it to lots of images? As an action? Something else? Is this easier to do in Lightroom?
2. Any style of typography/color that would convey a Mediterranean villa style?
