I inserted an indesign document of 42 A2 pages into a new indesign A1 landscape document to enable me print two sheets per page on an A1 drawing, and cut afterwards. How do I make sure the border line in the middle is also printed so I have a reference line where to cut the paper equally into two?

My designer just created a PDF portfolio where many images are specific crop, and specific lay outs, and some bleed over the page etc.
She said there are great advantages to printing from IN design, in that you can later go back to the master file in Photoshop with layers and re- insert it etc, as well as other advantages, primarily, of course, you dont have to re-configure the whole layout as single PS files.
Of course, I would have to buy In Design and deal with learning curve, and not have the RIP option.
A print job with complex shaded / patterned backgrounds is no longer printing correctly. It works fine when the job is sent to Acrobat where the backgrounds print correctly to the same printer. Is there a setting I should be changing?

This is so interesting.I use ''knockout2, remask3'' for cutting and ''Imagenomic Portraite'' for retouching.That never happened in CS4 32-bit.
Now i use CS6 64-bit and whenever i APPLY an effect/filter (include PS's Refine Edge) or plugin, there happens a strong white border/line on the image.
I can delete it by using so many ways like ''contract'' but it kills the details.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am placing addresses on a mailer. I need to remove lines where there is a blank field (ex. apartment numbers are on some but not others). I have checked the remove blank lines option in the data merge drop down menu but it doesn't seem to work. I also did the find/change option once the file was created and it also didn't work. I am not sure what possibly could be going on. I am using INdesign CS6 on a mac. Here is a screen shot of the file before the merge, the setting menu, the file after merge and the csv file.

It dates from the very beginning as far I can tell... whatever image you like to export and whatever its format: png, gif, jpg, there is always one grey pixel border line at the edges. This happens when AA is activated (and deactivate it is not an option if you know what I mean).
I have been reading some threads and no matter what I do: Exporting with or without the background or changing its color... it's always happening.
I Have now installed the trial version of Corel Draw X5 (sp1 included) as I do with every release in order to check out if the problem persist... but no luck for me: nobody seems to be taking care of this issue. I'm reconstructing an old document originally developed with PageMaker. I've recreated a half dozen pages hopefully with more uniform techniques. The original line art for the pages was created in AutoCad and some were scans. To bring them into InDesign some of the art is now in psd format and some of the newer art is in Illustrator AI format.
I've noticed that the pages with photoshop art print pretty quickly (about 30 seconds). The ones with Illustrator art take much longer (about 1:30 seconds). They go through a flattening process.
I print these 50 page books on demand and that additional time would add about an hour.
I guess the question is whether this is normal and to be expected or not. If it is I'll likely turn everything into raster before going into InDesign. That, however, seems like quite a bit of extra work. Going from AutoCad to Illustrator (to add stroke) then to PhotoShop to change to raster and then into InDesign seems like a pretty convoluted work flow.

I have been giving a drawing that I am unable to print dark enough with out my layers in some areas becoming way to thick and I was wondering if it is at all possible to select the whole drawing and just reset the line weights to a default setting with out having to go layer by layer.

Drawing looks good in AutoCad LT on screen.
Print Preview shows very heavy lines for dimension lines.
Dimension layer shows "Default" line weight.
Both print preview and actual printing has very heavy line weights for Dimension lines.
Not sure what to do to correct.
