View 6 Replieshow do you make a simple border around text? I checked out the tutorial in the Teamphotoshop site, however I couldn't find "Effects" under "Layer". I have Photoshop 6 (soon gonna be getting Photoshop CS), is that the problem?
I tried to just highlight the text, expand it (or make a border, either one), and use the paintbucket tool to fill it the expanded/border area. However, it leaves off a slightly gritty or faded border.
I also tried by going into the layers, right click on text layer>blending properties>outer glow. But it still leaves a faded border.
how could i draw any viewport's border line in layouts, if i do not want to use predefined rectangle,

I'm trying to make a Title Block that take up the whole length of the Border bounded page and 10 mm high, anchored on the bottom.
Currently I had the Default Border "changed" by Inserting it and changing the margins to fit to approximately my printer's printable area. It seems at this stage when I created a new title block defn I'm basically given a blank sketch with the origin at the bottom left as my only "snap point".
I found one through subject suggestion about using iLogic to change the size, but that isn't exactly what I'm trying to do as that seems just a switch for different Title Blocks that's been made up.
I thought about just drawing the title block in with the border, but I don't think that's the right way to do it.
Is there any way to draw your Title block in this case beside manually figuring out how big the Border is and dimension with that raw number?
(Just curious as it would be just a simple subtraction, but if I changed the Border margin I would have to repeat the arithmetic...)

I bought a new wide screen monitor (Led) resolution setup as 1920 x 1080. When I try to adjust (*) buttons size in Draw in order to see icons a bit bigger, I can not get "Medium Size" for Command Bars/Standard.
"Small" and "Large" works ok, but "Medium" nothing change (see pics. below).

I don't know how I can add to what the title already says. I would like a photo to have a soft border that feathers to invisible. I've tried to set an absolute invisible border (select invert followed by a background erase of the selection) and feathering that, but I inevitably get feathering that starts at the outer edge, crosses over into the photo itself leaving a sharp edge showing, and extends too far into the photo.
I simply want all four of the photo's edges to "disappear" into nothing.
Is it possible to draw a curved line. I am using the line tool but is there a way to get it to bend?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.

Here is my situation: I want to draw a vertical line on the left-hand side of my workspace about an inch away (to the right) from the left edge. Then I want to fill up that inch-wide column with a particular color. The end result being that I will have an inch-wide bar of color running vertically down the left side of my project.
I know this is probably really easy to do but it's been a long time since I had a course in Photoshop.
I use PSE 6.
I just wanna draw a white circle with a black outline(border).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to lay one of our existing blocks ontop of every power outlet on a floorplan (the power outlets are currently shown as a simple shape (eg. either a rectangle, triangle or circle) with text next to it.
There are hundreds of power outlets, so if there is a lisp routine for replacing any part of the power outlet with the block, eg. replacing text/mtext with a block or replacing a pline with a block.
I have found a very successful lisp routine for replacing circles with blocks, but this obviously only works on the power outlets that are shown as circles. So a simpler way of looking at it could be a lisp for drawing a circle around mtext/text then I could simply use the circle to block lisp to place the blocks.
There are a ton of lisp to match text rotation to a selected line, but not vice versa.
View 9 Replies View RelatedTo reproduce my problem, try this:
1. Create a document and type some text in a font size, for example I used a 30 points size.
2. Duplicate this layer.
3. Make the text layer it bigger but don't use the Text tool, use Transform. The font size will be shown in the Text panel accordingly. Deselect this layer.
4. If you select the layer or point the Text tool the size will be right (42,66 pt)
5. Select all the text in the layer you just made bigger, the panel will show that text is still 30 points!
I wanted to upload photos to clarify the problem, but the browser disn't allow me to do so, although pics are 450px wide and less than 2.0 MB each.
I have a high resolution photo that I need to reduce to 4MB or less to upload to LinkedIn. How do I do that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a title block and border which is used in MS. If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected. We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing. ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks. We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.
The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again. Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi'd like to learn how to draw a simple building with a vertical walled hole next to it.
I already have a ground surface, hole surface, and the grading surfaces for backfilling the sides of the hole and some ramps to get in and out of the hole. The building floor and roof need to slope towards the hole.
I'd like to end up with an isometric view with shaded walls and roof. The only 3d command I have used is presspull and it seemed useful. Is there a thread here that explains the most efficient ways to change views, draw a building, and shade vertical walls.
I am using Civil 3D 2010.
I'm working in ACAD 2012. I am at times, unable to draw simple vertical lines in the z-axis. Drawing pluming riser diagrams in 3D. Steps I am taking,
1) Opening the drawing.
2) X referencing a floor plan.
3) Changing the view using the cube to SW Isometric
4) Using the LINE command selecting a point, aligning the cursor with what seems like the Z-axis and entering the distance, heighten enter.
The line drawn is flat. This line can be seen as flat when rotating views. The only solution I have found is to use the "Reset Autocad Settings to Default"
Observations: Sometimes I am able to draw in 3D just fine, but something will happen in the middle of the drawing process that will now only allow me to draw flat. Also was never able to draw polylines in 3D is that how it's supposed to be? Used another computer with the same drawing, at first won't allow me to draw in 3D but after a couple attempts will eventually draw in 3D just fine. Tried starting from a blank template, no luck. Tried changing drawing space to 3D modeling and 3D basics, no luck. Also, when working drawings with existing 3D objects, I am able to snap to vertical point as a start point but cannot snap to a point on any other points on the object that at are at a different elevation.
I have adobe CS5 and when I opened my software today, I discovered my swatches were gone from my tool bar. They are not entirely gone because I can get to them from my swatch libraries, however, I cannot drag and drop these swatches into my toolbar in order to click on them. I am trying to use the pen tool to draw a simple shape and the only swatches that come up is the none option (the white box with the red line going through it) and the registration, which I admitadly don't know much about.
I am using a Mac. I cannot figure out how to draw my shapes without a fill and using a black outline.
