Illustrator :: Transparent Lines When Going From AI To Photoshop

Jan 6, 2013

I open an AI file into Photoshop and get these thin gaps (see image.) Usually, I can just re-do it and it's fine, but sometimes the problem persists. It hasn't happened enough for me to do a full scientific-method investigation.

CS5 on both apps. Mac OS 10.6.8

Illustrator :: Transparent Lines Through Vector?

Nov 3, 2013

I created a vector in Adobe Illustrator and there are transparent lines running through it. There are no inconsistencies in the path and this is the only file this has happened for. They are less visible while they are on a flat vector (see image 1), but they become more visible when placed as a smart object (image 2), especially when using a 3D effect from illustrator as well (image 3).

Illustrator :: How To Get Lines To Export With Transparent Fill Without Boolean Together

Dec 30, 2013

How to get lines that export with transparent "fill" without booleaning them together? When I do this the lines change so I'd like to find a way to just keep the information on top and ignore what's behind entirely (including the fill) so that I only have lines and no fills. Its for printing on fabric and such.

Illustrator :: Live Paint Objects Filled With Transparent Lines?

Apr 14, 2013

So I've been messing with Live paint, and I've noticed that where paths overlap or abut, or even if a path was expanded to a fill, a transparent line is there. They are not always noticeable in Illustrator, but when I bring the documents into Photoshop, they're blatantly obvious!

This is a section of my linework before making a Live Paint:

Now this is what comes up when I make the live paint:

When I bring it into PS, it becomes a lot more obvious:

Is there anything that I can do about this? After more than an hour of chatting with a Tech support person, we determined that turning off anti-aliasing when I open the docuement in PS will fix this, but then all the lines are jagged, so that's not a viable fix. I know I can fill these gaps in in Photoshop, but I don't think that I should have to do that, and also, with complex artwork, this isn't exactly a viable option... Am I working too small?

Illustrator :: CS6 To CS4 - White Lines Along Edges Of Semi-transparent Gradient Meshes

Feb 17, 2014

I recently invested in CS6 Production Premium and I've just tested legacy support by saving an Illustrator CS6 image in CS4 format.

The image contains a number of semi-transparent gradient meshes used for highlights.

Having loaded the saved CS4 .ai file in CS6, white lines appear along my semi-transparent gradient meshes (see the attached screenshot).

What's happening is that the anchor points with 0% opacity in CS6 suddenly have 100% opacity when I load the saved CS4 files in CS6.

Is this a known error? If so, how/where do I report it?

Here are the relevant CS6 and CS4 files: [URL] ....

There are no white lines when I save the image in CS5 format and load it in CS6.

Xara :: Transparent Object With Non-transparent Lines?

Feb 17, 2014

I'm sure there's a way to do this but for the life of me I can't remember and can't find it when I do a search. I have an object that is comprised of several lines that are grouped together, and I want to fill the entire group with a fractal cloud 3-color fill. In order to do so, I am creating the fill as a background, and making the object transparent, but when I do that, all my lines disappear (of course!) but I need the lines in it for details. Basically I want to layer this object

Xara :: Slicing Shapes Leaves Transparent Lines

Apr 11, 2013

I've got a problem with the combine shapes > slice (cut) shapes. (Designer Pro X).

I often use this tool to cut a graphic to make a repeating object, so I don't want it to have any boarder, just solid color. But for some reason when I cut the shape xara puts a little (approx 1 pixel) transparent line where the shape has been cut. This is often added to exported to the edges of pngs and svgs and looks a bit like anti-aliasing of some sort but I don't want this, just a solid object.

How to avoid this? See my attachment for an example png that I created by simply slicing one rectangle from another, I want to be able to do this without the extra line appearing - ie just solid black.

Illustrator :: How To Add Transparent Texture

Jun 29, 2013

I am trying to apply texture to a design of mine that needs to be transparent through the art- so you could see the background through the texture holes if you will. I've tried combining the objects, merging them, diving them, excluding them, and minusing the front. I know the answer is probably one of them, I'm just probably not doing it right. Below is the art I'm trying to do this to, the white is the texture that I want to be joined with the art and made transparent.

Illustrator :: Transparent Fill In Objects Not Going Away?

May 9, 2013

I'm having a problem with a logo I made which has a section of it that appears to be black fill with black stroke. However when I click on it and it shows the shape in that little preview box on the right panel, it appears grey. Then when I save it and open it in photoshop, the problem section is grey or transparent fill with black stroke. I can't seem to figure out why its doing this. There is no opacity on the object and it's clearly black in the colour settings. It used to be a gradient and I made it into a compound path to combine it with other sections but I released that and make it all solid color.

This situation hasn't happened in CS3 and CS2.The PSD files I intended to export are about A4 size with 300 dpi, sometimes with 150dpi, in RGB/CMYK/Grayscale color modes.

Illustrator :: Way To Make Background Transparent

I dont know if the t-shirt company will want the black layer and the white layer on seperate areas, so i will give them three files per side (black and white, Black, White).  Unfortunately when i split the colors in raster graphics and re trace them it doesnt do it the same! and i fear that their will be blank ugly spaces on the shirt.  so is their a way to take all of the white lines and put them by themselves on another document... and do the same with the black?

Also in the all colors toghether sample i have changed white to blue, so that it doesnt blend in with the background... Is their an easy way to make the background transparent, and then change blue to white?
