View 2 RepliesI'm pretty new and have a simple problem that for some reason I can't figure it out! And that is how to make a series of lines on the image that are all perfectly horizontal or perfectly verticle. This will be part of a chart and the lines will be dividers. So the chart will have basically 21 rectangles with 3 rectangles across and 7 rectangles down.
So, I KNOW how to use the straight line tool to make the vertical and horizontal lines but I don't know how to keep the lines perfectly vertical and horizontal and parallel with each other!

I am wondering if it is normal for the lines to be jagged. Vertical and horizontal lines are straight but the angular ones are jagged, Stair step looking whatever you would call it. It makes the stuff I draw look like (edited) .Especially the low angle stuff.

View 5 Replies View Relatedsometimes Photoshop (Intuos 4, AMD Phenom2 X6 1100T@3.333GHz) draws a hard line at full pressure instead of a soft, dynamic curve. It simply connects the starting and ending point. Painting ia 20000x14000@16GB Ram with PS using 12GB, painting size 6GB.
I also experienced when going back history states with ctrl-alt-z the tool automatically switches to zoom, and sometimes history just jumps back to the latest state.
Is it possible to warp a Smart Objects using corners and straight lines in stead of curves? I try to make a map icon in which you can easily replace the image on the map. I know how to do this warp with paths by adding anchors, but it won't work with a Smart Object (or a simple image for that matter)

If I try to do it by splitting the image and transform them like on the left image, the transition between the 'panels' isn't correct.
For some reason, GIMP is putting straight lines off of any line I draw (paintbrush, ink or pencil) and while it's pretty cool, I'd like to be able to draw properly.

I set a line as straight, mark as vertical (2 lines really) and then process. The lines that are vertical come out wavy... best way to describe it..
I add the 2 control lines to the very outside most windows where the windows meet the brick... This is a closeup of the output... I don't know when straight lines became waveforms.. but they do with this filter!

View 14 Replies View RelatedCan we automatically add sample lines at vertical curve points (e.g. BC, EC, Bottom of curve) ?I need to show the sections at these vertical curve key points.
I am using C3D 2011 but could not find that option when creating sample lines in a station range.
In both model and paper space, rectangles with corners filleted look fine. However, the filleted curved corners are not joined with straight lines once it's exported/plotted to PDF. I have to zoom in very closely to see this, so it won't be a big problem for actual printing. But I can't figure out why the lines are broken on PDF when they are well joined in both model and paper space.
I tried changing PDF quality, plot style, and anything I can think of, but to no avail.
Autocad 2012 on MAC, 10.7.2 with Acrobat X.
On my LED monitor (Samsung XL2370), horizontal and veritcal lines display as different hues. Is there an Autocad setting to work with this or is it maybe some setting on my monitor?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTotal buffoon when it comes to getting GIMP to do what I want to do. I'm just practicing with making maps, black lines on a white background, and I've run into some issues I'm wondering if I can get rectified.
1) For whatever reason, the line weight of everything has shifted throughout the file, ending with some lines lighter and grayer than others. Is there a way I can get GIMP to trace all the lines in a uniform black, with uniform thickness?
2) I have tried locking the white background, but often when I select and move my black lines, if I don't click in just the right spot it moves the white background instead, which is really, reeeaaaly aggravating. How Do I get that background to be completely untouchable?
3) In trying to colour the image, I've run into problems with their being a white outline between the colour and the black lines. I think I need to sharpen the image or somesuch? How can one correct this issue?
4) Is there anyway to convert the black dotted lines of the paths tools into straight black lines, in regards to an older file? If not, is there an easy way to trace them?

For example, if I have a part that can change lengths and I need to print off a new drawing, it would be good if I could say that the lines were a set distance from each end of the part or some features of the part.
Then I could update the part length, then just open the part drawing and not have to adjust anything.
This isnt so much of a problem as an annoyance. When I try to make poly lines from connected single lines my procedure is as follows...
pedit, right click, multiple, select lines/objects, enter, yes, join x 3, esc
My annoyance is if i hit join once it will not make the lines into polylines, if i hit join 3 times or so and then esc it will.
It just doesnt seem that is right and I think i might be missing something. I have been doing pedit this way for a long time adn its probably finally time to figure this one out.

How do i get rid of jagged lines?
Circles and diagonal lines look rubbish when i am in hidden view which i use for simple 3d black / white (i think this is the best way?).
I have tried:
- viewres (1000, 5000, 10000, 20000 sightly better)
- regen

Click on the canvas, hold SHIFT to force a straight line, move towards the bottom of the document, let go of the mouse button, it draws a line straight to my mouse's cursor! I have no other ideas what is causing this.
I dropped my digital camera last week and ever since every photo I take shows horizontal lines going across my picture on my camera screen. When I put the photos on my computer using Preview the lines appear to look worse but then instantly heal the line problem altogether.
Now my problem is this: When I open one of these images in photoshop the line problem reappears again and I can't seem to think of a way to get rid of it (like Preview did). And because the photos are so large the computer wont let me copy and paste the healed versions from Preview onto photoshop so I'm stuck with lines in all my pics. Now I'm assuming if Preview can totally heal my piece than photoshop should be able to as well.
