I've been attempting to recreate the text effect on the word BOLLYWOOD.
I've played around with applying a smooth cornered stroke - extruding then attempting to warp the text but have had no joy...
I'm looking to get this looking as close as possible.
trying to recreate the mercury/liquid chrome-ish effect I created a while ago. The effect is based loosely off of the other picture I have attached. Note that the mercury picture is a quarter the size of the original (to shrink the file size. Also, any other methods for creating mercury effects would be great.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using an iMac and Illustrator CC. I created a text area box. I want to place text from an outside Word document into the area box. When I go to File>Place and locate the text file, I click on Place. When I'm returned to my Illustrator CC document, the original area box is deselected and my cursor is loaded and ready for me to drag out a new area box. Shouldn't the placed text fill the original area box?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wrote the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog" in Times New Roman regular 12 pt. in Illustrator CS2. The file was saved as a pdf at "press quality." I wrote the same sentence with the exact some font in InCopy CS2 and exported it as a pdf at press quality. As shown in a zoomed-in screenshot from the respective pdfs, the text from Illustrator (top example below) is slightly different than the text from InCopy (bottom example below):
Is it just an unavoidable artifact of the way pdfs are rendered? I realize it's a minor gripe, but even slight bugs/features like this would never be tolerated in a professional publishing environment. What am I not understanding about vector images and/or pdfs?
Everytime I copy text in Word and paste it in Illustrator CS4 to edit, Illustrator considerably slows down.

It is called "Kids of the King" and I have an eps of a crown and I want to hang the crown off the K in the word King. When I copy text that has a drop shadow made with "effect/stylize/drop shadow" the drop shadow is editable from the Appearance pallet only in the original document. In the pasted document the drop shadow is there but does not show up in the Appearance pallet so I can't edit it. It shows up on a different layer so I can delete it but then I have to create an editable shadow from scratch on the new document. When I copy objects that are not text with drop shadow, the editiability remains, but it doesn't seem to work with text unless I create outlines of the type and then I lose the editability of the text. Is there any way to copy drop shadows that are editable on text?

I have tried several things, but nothing works. Then I tried to make the paper a png, and insert it into word to copy in the text there instead, and I couldnt get that to work either.

PNG comes out blurry and faded in PDF (it's fine in Word). So I need to make my image available for a Word header for a document that will be saved as a PDF.
