The problem just came today while i tried to copy/paste text from Ms Word. As I usually do it asks me about formatting options before pasting text but today its not working the way it should. It simply pastes plain text without all formatting I did to my document in Ms Word. I even tried to repair my software but nothing worked.
View 1 RepliesI'm looking for a way to be able to copy text from another program (Microsoft Word) and then, using the Text tool in Photoshop (CS6), paste that text, but where it retains the correct italics formatting I had in the other program--and not as an image of text (Ctrl+P), in which the formatting is present, as a flat image, but rather as an actual unpasteurized and editable Text layer.
For example, the sentence “I told you..” where 'told' is italics, simply pastes into Photoshop as "I told you.." without the original formatting. Is there a way to get Photoshop to recognize formatting from pastes without my having to manually re-apply the formatting myself? This would be a hassle over a long period of time. If necessary I would be willing to use a plug-in that allows for this sort of recognition.
I have been trying really hard now and this has ocurred several times before for me: I copy a text from MS Word and paste it into a Paragraph text frame in Corel Draw, and all I get is a line break. That's correct, just one line break, no text.
If I take just a few hundred words it pastes allright, but if I have like 14 000 characters including spaces, it fails to paste. If I paste the same amount of text into Notepad and then from there to Draw, it works alright. There seems to be a problem importing/pasting formatted text, even if you discard all fonts and formatting in the Paste text dialog.
If I go to Edit/Paste special/Text the import works, but the text does not land in the text frame selected or where you have the cursor active, instead you get the text in some randomly fomed text frames where you most likely don't want them, many times just as big as the page and with no margins.
So there definitely seems to be a problem pasting longer texts into Corel Draw.
I am trying to copy and paste text in Photoshop CS6 and I am losing the oh-so-valuable formatting. I am referring to two boxes side by side in Photoshop that contain text.
I love the text in the first box, but when I try to duplicate the formatting in the second box right next to it, the text looks completely different. And, when I try to just paste some of the text from the first box to the second box, the 20 px text suddenly becomes 96.3 px text.
Even though I go through all of the formatting options available and duplicate what was in the first box, the text in the second box ends up looking nothing like the first box even though they contain exactly the same formatting, font type - everything.
I was telling an engineer the other day that I could probably insert his general notes from MS Word into AutoCAD and create nice clean pdf files of the CD sheets that he could email to clients. On second inspection I could tell that, yes I could copy, paste it in, but fixing all the formatting would be a nightmare. Is there any way to retain the formatting such as numbering, tabs etc. when bringing it in to AutoCAD? The idea is to have it be an editable document, so I don't want to just bring it in as a OLE object, pdf or scan.

I've been using CorelDraw X3 for a while now and whenever I have copied and pasted artistic text is has simply pasted over itself in the same place for me to move wherever I want to.
Yesterday I copied some artistic text and when I hit paste it pasted as paragraph text, in a different size and font and in the center of the page. Have I accidentally and unawares changed a setting?I know I can get around this by duplicating instead of pasting but it is frustrating as it is a feature I use constantly.
I have copied a bunch of text into a text frame in CorelDRAW X3. Now I want to give style to each of the headings in the text.
In Microsoft Word there is a "copy formatting" option, allowing me to copy font size, colour, style etc. from one text portion to other text portions in a snap.
Is the same possible with text in CorelDRAW?

the thing is that on my previous version of Corel Draw (9? 10? whatever...) I could take a text frame with tabs lined up, copy it, paste it into a new document and all the tabs would be carried over from the original.
but when I try to do that in X3, it just copies across as plain text, meaning that I would have to do all the tabbing again.
When I say the tabs were set up, it's a list that looks like this:
Bill.................32..................Harvard
John..............27..................Oxford
where the .............. is made just by tabbing across.
trying to copy txt from an outside text editor and pasting them into an open, editable text layer in my workspace. The problem is that I can COPY the text fine, but when I click over to PS to paste it into the open editable text layer it either pastes the previous text from my clipboard OR it won't paste anything at all. I can then go into any other text field on a browser, spreadsheet document, a different text editor, notepad, etc and successfully paste the proper batch of text I wanted to paste into PS. Sometimes I have some rather large files open 50+megs when I notice this happen. I have to save my work and close out entirely of PS and then open it again before I can begin editing my original document again and successfully paste the text into the open editable text layer. This may last for a few COPY/PASTE sessions of additional text in additional text layers, but then begins displaying the symptoms I described above.
I am on Win7 on an AlienWare M17XR3 laptop with 16G RAM and AMD Radeon HD 6900M Series display adapter.I assume it's either in my PS performance settings which I have PS using 10413MB RAM and has over 350G scratch disk space. If it's not that I guess my laptop system performance settings which I've never tinkered with since I purchased it.
I want to place a word into a square box and it should be in the centre of the box. How can I center it? I want equal spaces in between the word and the box for all four sides.
View 11 Replies View Relatedi'm making a newsletter in which there are pages which has to written in malayalam. i use charmap (Start>Run>Charmap). in that i make a sentence by selecting each letters.. Charmap has its own text field where the written text is displayed. from that text field i've to copy paste it to corel draw's text field.
Now the problem is whenever i paste it on corel draw's text field, the letters come a bit jumbled up. i've noticed that the vowels get jumbled up. but when i paste it on ms word, it comes as it is.
I am using CorelDraw to create price labels for my store. When I merge in the price field for an item I want it to show on the label with the cents in superscript as opposed to using a decimal and full sized cents text. Is this possible in any version of CorelDraw using the print merge feature?
Keep in mind that I also have the price field in an envelope so that the price takes up the full size allotted on the label whether the price is $1.99 or $999.99.
I have inside every text,Mtext contents different text style like Arial_1 , Arial_2.
How i can give all the contents inside one style ? the normal procedure i will enter inside text to enter editing mode and changing text format style one by one. I want it once.
I want to save my routing of entering every text to change its content text style.
(Notice:select all from outside without editing mode will not do the job)
I know I can rotate text with the rotate command or from the properties palette, but if I'm editing text and the text formatting toolbar is displayed, why don't I have the ability to modify the rotation right there? How do I get it there? Can I customize this toolbar?

It's 4 pages with lots of bold and itallics and needs to be reflowed in draw but retain exact italics and bold. When I paste it into draw, I lose all the bold/italic formatting. Are there any workarounds to get the bold and italic text to copy and paste into draw?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.
How can you changed the text editor to a word processor like word?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to copy editable text from a Word file into the text editor for GIMP. Before I upgraded to 2.8, this was possible, but now it seems not. I'm on 2.8.4 using OSX Mavericks on a Macbook Pro.
I'm a terrible speller and since GIMP doesn't support spell check, this was always my workaround.
Today Illustrator CS4 decided to start crashing on me when I try to paste text into the art board. It will also not allow me to type text into the artboard. Whenever I try to type, it just does all the tool shortcuts. I have alread tried deleting the preferences and that hasn't worked at all.

When I go to File>Place and locate the text file, I click on Place. When I'm returned to my Illustrator CC document, the original area box is deselected and my cursor is loaded and ready for me to drag out a new area box. Shouldn't the placed text fill the original area box?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wrote the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog" in Times New Roman regular 12 pt. in Illustrator CS2. The file was saved as a pdf at "press quality." I wrote the same sentence with the exact some font in InCopy CS2 and exported it as a pdf at press quality. As shown in a zoomed-in screenshot from the respective pdfs, the text from Illustrator (top example below) is slightly different than the text from InCopy (bottom example below):
Is it just an unavoidable artifact of the way pdfs are rendered? I realize it's a minor gripe, but even slight bugs/features like this would never be tolerated in a professional publishing environment. What am I not understanding about vector images and/or pdfs?
i have a 2 artistic text blocks (both with different fonts) in same corel document and when i ctrl+c/ctrl+v from one to other it copy/paste not only the text but also font type/size and color.
I want just the text copied not all the properties.
I've got an OLE work document spec that is 2 pages formatted correctly in MS word. When i link in the second page the formatting resets to the beginning in the .dwg file, but is retaining it's correct format in the linked word document. For example the 2nd page in the word doc starts at 2.9.....but is displaying 1.1 in the dwg file....is there a command to stop the reset of 1.1?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen pasting between illustrator documents all formatting is lost and images do not move over.example, working on a new flyer, I often borrow from existing flyers since copy and pricing is good, just usually making flyers that have different combinations of products etc.
So I select some text boxes and images from one illustrator document, control copy and then try to control v into another illustrator document and all that gets pasted is the text which is formulated. You'd think i had copied and pasted something from notepad.
The problem does not happen 100% of the time, but it's like 50/50 it seems.Sometimes when the problem occurs, I'll spam control c a few times and then control v will paste as you'd expect. But the problem occurs whether I use control c, or edit copy.I'm using CS3..It even happens when I try to cut and paste within the same document.
I was trying to duplicate the star wars scrolling into space text movie demo in PS CS4. I finally accomplished it.
But to adjust the text, it requires the FULL text format. I had the full format button in view, but could not use it. The only buttons that worked were left, center, and right. None of the buttons on the right would toggle.
I used the key shortcut CTRL-SHFT-F to get it to work.
I highlighted the text and nothing could move the focus to the FULL format button..
