GIMP :: Create Trailing Effect Of A Word
Oct 1, 2012The goal is to create the trailing effect of a word.
It should look as if the word is coming from the center of the screen to the forefront, either to the top or the bottom of the screen.

What/how can I do to make this picture look as if paint had been slash on the door.

How to create such thing .
I would like to know the quickest way to create face in hole type photo templates. I was at Universal studios and was impressed by the speed they could create face on body images.
I am thinking it has to do with lasso select tool with a feather on edges > invert selection.
Also what is the quickest way to make the photo face match the original face color. (is there some kind of color select to do this?)
I am trying to create a station-offset label style that will drop the trailing zeros in the offset section - e.g. 15' instead of 15.00', but if the offset is not at a whole number, e.g. 15.01, etc. it will display the entire offset.
I created two expressions: IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
and this one: IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)!=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
I then created two offset components, one called truncated, and one called full, and assigned the heights to match the expressions.
I have attached the file, the style is ACHD-Sta Off-Rt [copy]

About a year ago I created this picture using gimp (ignore the text) .
My problem is that I have completely forgotten how I did it and now I need to know how.
So how to create the blend effect in the upper right of the circle (again don't worry about the text)?
I want to create something like this:
The text is in farsi, and i don't even know how to make it in center, like the photo.
Is there a way to use this program to create a double exposure effect? Ican do it with my 35mm camera manually while taking pics. But was not sureif you can create the same digitally?

How to create a cool rainbow nebula text effect that you can play with. This is a fairly easy effect to achieve.
The result will look something like this:
1. Create a New project and set your dimensions. In this case, I am going to use 500 x 200. This part is up to you.
2. I think this effect goes best with a dark color(black) so use the fill tool to turn your background black(or your color pick if it is different).
3. Next, add your text using the text tool. I believe the font Century Gothic goes well with this. However, I am going to use my logo with this. Make sure whatever you do, if you use your logo or not, that your subject is white.
4. Right-click on the text/logo layer in the layer panel and select Alpha to Selection. Then create a New Layer and go the Filters→Render→Clouds→Plasma and click OK. Put this layer on the below the text one if it is not already.
5. Now Gaussian Blur the text layer by 5 pixels and set the Layer Mode to Overlay.
6. (This step is optional. I am going to do it though because it gives a good result in my opinion.) Duplicate the Plasma Layer and Gaussian Blur it by 5 pixels. Then you can play around with the opacity with the Layer Mode on Screen, I set mine to 50%. Then duplicate the text layer and lower the opacity which I did to 50%. This gives the text more shine.
The result will look something like this:
Not sure if GIMP can actual do this.
I am looking to create text words that have a silver/bright mirror effect. The effect might look like silver liquid (water) effect. Or do you know what software it could be designed on.
I've been attempting to recreate the text effect on the word BOLLYWOOD.
I've played around with applying a smooth cornered stroke - extruding then attempting to warp the text but have had no joy...
I'm looking to get this looking as close as possible.
I am trying to create a clip art for word. I have an image which i open with photoshop. I select the truck wanted from the photograph, I want to save the image of the truck only (subtracting the background such as sky, pavement, other cars and ect.) so that I may insert it into a word document wraping text around the jagged edges of the truck, not a bunch of squared off white or transparent space for a brochure. I have CS5.5 version.

However, I was wondering if the file is suppose to open as an HTML page instead, and I could use Wordpad to edit it?
Maybe I saved it wrong...
I'm trying to create the word "the bridge" that looks like a smoke, as if the word comes out of a candle that's just been blown. Can somebody tell me how to do this effect? Do i need a 3rd party plug in or can i just do it on Photoshop?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use Paint.Net a lot to create images for Word. So I save in .jpg org .png. And everytime I save my work (which contains layers), Paint.Net asks if I want to flatten it.
Add an "Remeber my selection" check-box, or auto-flatten the image. I think, after seeing that dialog-box for 100x times, you know that there will be no layers afterwards.
Alternatively, you could add a command "Save As Copy..." which doesn't ask for flattening, and will not change the currently active image. (This solution would not require you internally keep track of the user choices.)

I try to do this in Library Mode, Keyword Creation box, I get 2 words.
Example, I type Los Angeles and get: Angeles, Los
Nothing I try works. I know it is common since I imported 200,000 images and I see lots of word combos used as keywords.
I read the manual, looked at tutorials, read an existing thread on this, can't find the simple answer. I am about to start keywording my 200,000 images from the last 12 years, I need to learn this at the get go...
I need to select a few characters within a larger word
BIGselectWORD
I'd like to edit just those internal letters for font size and color, etc, but leave the outer letters alone.
In other graphics progs I've tried, you can usually just select those particular letters and edit but I tried that in gimp but couldn't do it
ok so I am creating a slideshow with an image that was made from word changed into a pdf then to a jpeg. I have successfully created the slideshow with 4 of these images however, now these images are very distorted and the pixels looked stretched. get this to a clearer image? this is for a website for my employer!

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've created our own door tags. Now in ACA 2013 the doors that have sizes that end in zero (like 3'-0") are showing a zero, a decimal and three trailing zeros in the zero value.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe example I use in this question has already been solved by friendly posters here and this is not a rehash... just using the materials at hand to illustrate the point. The effort here was to remove the trailing shadows shown in the first image (at the included URL below).
In that thread 2 posters showed how to do this using a completely different approach. That is, using Arrange/Apply ClipView..However, I used the help manual to try to do this, at a section headed Combining Shapes
When subtracting, intersecting and slicing, you can either use the topmost selected shape to do the "cutting" of the lower shapes, or you can use a mask.To use a mask to cut shapes, first select the shapes and then turn on mask mode. All objects except for the selected shapes disappear while mask mode is on.
Then draw your cutting shape using the main drawing tools (Freehand Tool, Shape Editor, Rectangle Tool, etc.) or paste the shape if you already drew it and copied it. Then select the Arrange->Combine Shapes operation. The mask shape is used to cut the shapes underneath. I never did see anything describing the details of how to do the cutting with one of the shapes already in the composition so I went the mask route, which is explained there.
So I selected all, then went to mask mode, drew a rectangle (at the right in 2nd screen grab below) then Arrange/Combine shapes/ and none of those selections: Add, subtract, intersect and slice... appear to do a darned thing to the objects.
I have code that creates an attribute and block to be used to show a dimension value.
(setq cirDia 0.40) which returns 0.4, but the next command
(command "attdef" "" "CirATT" "" (rtos cirDia 2 2) "ml" "0,0" "1.5" "0")
returns "0.40"
On my computer (and those in the office with me) the attribute will show a default value of "0.40", but there is a computer in another office (offsite) that when the program is run, they get "0.4". The trailing "0" is dropped.
I have tried changing my "DIMZIN" var from 0 to 1, but that has no effect on the attribute dropping the zero. I just don't know what else that other computer may have set that would affect this variable.
I figured out how to change the precision of the X-Y location dimensions in a hole table, but is there a way to turn off trailing zeros? I have turned them off in my styles, but for some reason the styles don't effect hole tables. Maybe I just don't know where to look?
