About a year ago I created this picture using gimp (ignore the text) .
My problem is that I have completely forgotten how I did it and now I need to know how.
So how to create the blend effect in the upper right of the circle (again don't worry about the text)?
I am trying to acheive the same angle gradient effect that can be done in Photoshop but in Illustrator. The actual thing I want to be able to create as a vector is the graphic attached...
Can this be done by somehow using the blend tool and replacing the spline with a circle?
I am trying to create a blend radius between a Line and a Circle, the Blend command does not accept the circle as a valid object.

I'd like to create a logo with some text in the shape of a circle or maybe a horseshoe.
What's would be the best way to do this? I've tried creating a path in the shape of a horseshoe but can't work out how to add my text to it.
When I add an emboss effect to text on an upper layer, the color of a simple rectangle object on a lower layer changes to a darker color. When it prints, the letters have a really dark colored rectanglular "box" aound them. There is no other effects on any of the other layers or the text. How do I correct this?

I've tried replacing a blend spline with a circle in order to get an easily editable "flowering effect" but it's not working out.
The blend does accept the circle as its new spline, but the start object and end object aren't distributed along the circle equally. The Blend only travels around the circle 270 degrees.
Is there a trick to making this work?
What/how can I do to make this picture look as if paint had been slash on the door.

I would like to know the quickest way to create face in hole type photo templates. I was at Universal studios and was impressed by the speed they could create face on body images.
I am thinking it has to do with lasso select tool with a feather on edges > invert selection.
Also what is the quickest way to make the photo face match the original face color. (is there some kind of color select to do this?)
The goal is to create the trailing effect of a word.
It should look as if the word is coming from the center of the screen to the forefront, either to the top or the bottom of the screen.

How to create a cool rainbow nebula text effect that you can play with. This is a fairly easy effect to achieve.
The result will look something like this:
1. Create a New project and set your dimensions. In this case, I am going to use 500 x 200. This part is up to you.
2. I think this effect goes best with a dark color(black) so use the fill tool to turn your background black(or your color pick if it is different).
3. Next, add your text using the text tool. I believe the font Century Gothic goes well with this. However, I am going to use my logo with this. Make sure whatever you do, if you use your logo or not, that your subject is white.
4. Right-click on the text/logo layer in the layer panel and select Alpha to Selection. Then create a New Layer and go the Filters→Render→Clouds→Plasma and click OK. Put this layer on the below the text one if it is not already.
5. Now Gaussian Blur the text layer by 5 pixels and set the Layer Mode to Overlay.
6. (This step is optional. I am going to do it though because it gives a good result in my opinion.) Duplicate the Plasma Layer and Gaussian Blur it by 5 pixels. Then you can play around with the opacity with the Layer Mode on Screen, I set mine to 50%. Then duplicate the text layer and lower the opacity which I did to 50%. This gives the text more shine.
The result will look something like this:

I am looking to create text words that have a silver/bright mirror effect. The effect might look like silver liquid (water) effect. Or do you know what software it could be designed on.
I just want to blend the edge of a photo into the white background for use on the web so you don't have the stark "edge".

I've just played around with some tools to see if I could get somewhere near the effect - this is not quite perfect though. The image marked with "2" got a very low opacity example of this.
Im looking to do something like nr "2" with the white "ripple"/glow'ish effect. I figured it could be done in a manual combination of -> making a circle shape -> applying some effect to it -> copy the layer -> scale it down etc. But haven't been apple to find a useable combination and was hoping there perhaps were some filter or other method.

I was making a website and I wanted to make a pattern that looks like one color turning into another color by way of small circles increasing in size. I've created a small mock-up of the type of effect that I want to make, and what is the name of the effect, or how to do it. But for some reason it doesn't let me post the image.
