This is my deconstructed crest logo, all pieces taken apart. I tried to find the source of the problem but it doesn't seem to be anything that I can track.
This problem ocurrs (the white lines on the "body" and on the two "wings") only when I use Save for Web with the GIF, JPEG and PNG options. If I use the WBMP, SWF, or SVG options then the white lines do not appear. They also do not appear if I use the regular Save As, or if I export to PNG, JPEG, etc.
The black forms are just shapes with black fills (no strokes) on them - so there is no reason that I can find for this happening.
When I use the spherical filter in the horizontal mode in order to narrow the center of my picture slightly, the filter creates evenly spaced horizontal lines. Is there a way to avoid this? Here is the funny thing. If I rotate the image 90 degrees, then apply the filter using "vertical only" the lines do not appear. The lines only appear when I use "horizontal only"!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI know that Photoshop is not the premier pdf creation software. I do have InDesign as well, but I'm much more familiar and comfortable with Photoshop (I have the CC versions of both) so I prefer to use it as my design and layout tool.
However, when I save as a pdf the resultant pdf file is blurry for images and text, not horribly so, but not sharp and clear as I would like. My pdf files are for the web and emailing so I need to keep the file size in check, but even when I up the PS resolution to 300psi it still is not as clear as I would like. Still blurry.
What do you Photoshop experts out there do to produce the sharpest pdf possible? Is it even possible using Photoshop only or do you have to use InDesign or Acrobat Pro to get the clarity and shapness?
I have text with an arc effect. I want the text to knock out of a background and stay in arc. I tried making a compound object and pathfinder but the text straightens out. How do I do it?

I've played around with applying a smooth cornered stroke - extruding then attempting to warp the text but have had no joy...
I'm looking to get this looking as close as possible.
Problem: My artists are telling me that they are experiencing a transformation of their text when they try to do a mirror. We do a process called sublimation that requires us to print our artwork backwards, and when they perform the mirror operation occasionally the text either crunches together from left to right, or stretches out in the same direction.
The mirror also chances the size of shapes, overall it seems to be an issue with the Mirror action. So far the only effective way to fix the problem is to restart the PC. I have asked them to try restarting CorelDraw alone, and will see if they works next time.
Why does Illustrator CS6 create a bunch of raster images (PNG or JPG) files when I export to DWG? There's no way to turn it off, is there?

It is called "Kids of the King" and I have an eps of a crown and I want to hang the crown off the K in the word King. I am trying to make it where the back half of the crown is hidden behind the K so it gives the effect of it hanging off the edge of the letter.

I am using this code to automatcally fill out my iproperties but the material name is not exactly what I want it to say. iProperties.Value("Project", "Description")=iProperties.Material
I'd like it so that any time it sees Steel, Mild it replaces it with the text "A36"

I'm running a legit version of Photoshop CS2 on Windows XP. There's a number of things that haven't worked since I installed. Let's start with this one! When editing text, pressing any of the arrow keys to move the cursor creates an unwanted charachter like & '%# etc. Also, when in Move tool mode, the arrow keys don't respond at all.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using Illustrator CC although I haven't tried doing this in earlier versions. When I copy text that has a drop shadow made with "effect/stylize/drop shadow" the drop shadow is editable from the Appearance pallet only in the original document. In the pasted document the drop shadow is there but does not show up in the Appearance pallet so I can't edit it. It shows up on a different layer so I can delete it but then I have to create an editable shadow from scratch on the new document. When I copy objects that are not text with drop shadow, the editiability remains, but it doesn't seem to work with text unless I create outlines of the type and then I lose the editability of the text. Is there any way to copy drop shadows that are editable on text?
View 23 Replies View RelatedSo I am preparing a document for printing on an Epilog Zing Laser 10000. I have an outline for a cut I need to make, but I need to accomodate for the kerf of the laser. I am trying to select the circles and use the Offset Path tool to make new circles in the same places slightly smaller. However when I apply the negative offset I get a new circle on the outside of the path and on the inside.
As you can see there is now a larger circle as well as a smaller circle, but the smaller circles don't even have a smaller circle only a larger one despite the fact I entered a negative offset. What can I do to only get the smaller circle in all the circle? Am I even on the right path as far as the path offset tool? Pun intended.
I could edit an existing PDF made by another company, just change a few lines of text. The original file was around 3 mb. I add in a website, extension to the phone number, switch out the fax (That's it!) and save as a new version. It's now almost 30 mb. Why?? My work email won't let me send something of that size.. I tried saving as smallest file size w/ preserving editing and it came out to be 15+ mb.

When importing an SVG file, I woould like the top level SVG groups to be imported as separate Illustrator layers. Instead, Illustrator creates a single default layer on importing teh SVG file, and adds the tree of groups under that layer.

I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.
