I have a solid color and apply the water color effect, though it doesn't do anything to the solid fill? I am applying the effect that is under Photoshop filters. Is this only meant to be applied to bitmaps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to split a single solid body into 2 solid bodies. The problem is that the body I'm trying to split consists of two separate pieces. I can split a body when it is a single piece no problem, but I'm having the problem when the two pieces are not joined at all.
When I try and split it on the origin plane it gives this error:
"Creating parting line failed. Could not build this Split"
When I try and split it on a work plane lying on one of the pieces it gives this error:
"Creating parting line failed. Modeling failure in ASM. Redefine inputs."
Or, another variation on this erorr:
"Creating parting line failed. Split feature could not create two bodies. Change the Split Tool so that split feature can create two bodies."
How can i convert some solid bodies to a single solid.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a shape made from the blob tool made into hafltones. I do not want it as a gradient, just equal sized halftones throughout the shape. Is this possible?
When I do it using Effects/pixilate/color haltone it makes multiple colored halftones, whereas I just want one color. And when I change the channel's it comes up with similar results.
I want to change it to either a color or transparent. I am placing detailed symbols (like this).
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of designing a clear label for my aftershave and would like to have the text on a solid color panel be transparent so that the liquid is visible. I would also like to have an outline (Line) tracing the font. I've been doing some internet searches for "punched out" and "cutout" text and the like but this process is using two solid color layers.
As it stands now, I have a transparent background, the panel as one layer, and the text as another layer on top of the panel.
I came across a process for Illustrator but was hoping that it could be done in Photoshop as well since I have everything already setup in PS. I did try the method described for Illustrator but I couldn't get it to work in PS...not throwing out the high percentage of operator error on this one.
I have a picture in Illustrator CS3 and I'm trying to make a vector for a t-shirt. I want to remove the brown background, but I'm unable to select the background. I select image, live trace etc (6 colors), but stil unable to select only the background, only the whole picture. Not sure what to do here.

Here is a short video of the problem, me copying the top text and without changing anything, pasting it. Note the color-well is set to black

I have a problem with changing solid face colour where the Solid has a material assigned to it.
I have drawn a meter and need to add text to the face. Trying to imprint the text is a mission and I don’t seem able to make the text stand out. If I explode the text, Create a solid, Union the text, position the text on the meter face and union the text to the meter face the text takes on the colour of the material. I then try to change the colour of the text face and of course it will not change. The only way I can seem to change the face colour is to convert the solid to a surface which then defeats the object.
As an interim solution to overcome my problem I have created the text and positioned it where I need it and then created a block to keep it all in place. It looks ok and provided the block is not exploded it works ok but i am sure there must be a more professional way of doing it.

I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the background layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): URL... View 5 Replies View RelatedI´m building a solid in inventor 2012 and I exported the model to ANSYS for Finite element analysis. The problem is that ANSYS
don´t recognize the solid as one part only and also can't assume connection between some lines and areas. I want to merge a part with inventor, so inventor can export the model as a solid 1 part. In solid works there is the option to merge a file when I save a file for exporting. How can I merge a single solid in inventor 2012?
I would like to create a wavy line (the zigzag feature is not exactly what I need here) to outline a shape and then fill it with a solid color.
This is approx what I want; however the undulation needs to be more round and less peaked.
In previous versions of Illustrator, I could take a fill object ..with any color applied, and add the photocopy effect. This was a great tool to use, to illustrate and give texture to large patches of colors, which I used all the time in our site plan renderings (gras lawn effects).
Now in version CS4, when I go t oapply the photocopy effect to a fill, it automatically drops the color and changes the object to black and white. This defeats the purpose of being able to apply an effect to a colored object if the setting returns the color to BW. Not sure if I have something clicked wrong somewhere in Illustrator.. or is some programmer actually made this change...
I need to apply effects to colored fills.... especially the photocopy effect.
I have encountered a problem with the bevel effect of corel draw that I can't seem to resolve. I have a vector image and I convert to curves. Click on effects/bevel/soft edge bevel. I set my distance, I set my shadow colour & light colour and when I apply the bevel it changes the face colour to a murky combination of the original vector colour/shadow colour & light colour. I do not want to change the face colour of the text in any way.
