Photoshop :: How Do You Do That Text Effect? Where It Switches Color...?
Dec 18, 2004
But I have some "sentance text". in black. And i have 3 large letters over the small sentance text. Also in black. How do I get it so that the "sentance text" is black except when over the 3 letters? Like when the text is inside the black letters it turns white?
Having trouble getting illustrator to assume my fill color when setting text. Each time I set type it reverts back to black regardless of the fill color I've set up. I can change it back once it's set but I'd like to illiminate the extra step. I've tried synching to my old settings but thats not working. It there a way to get it to behave like my older version where it just uses the fill color for text without reverting to black?
When I use Adjust --> Color Balance and use the temperature slider the cool <---> warm seems to work as expected (i.e. my image becomes more blue to the left, more red to the right).
When I click the Advanced Options box, the slider labels are the same, but the behavior swaps: so the Cool label is still on the left, BUT when side the handle to the left, my image becomes more RED, & if I slide to the right (labeled warm) my image becomes more blue.
I have encountered a problem with the bevel effect of corel draw that I can't seem to resolve. I have a vector image and I convert to curves. Click on effects/bevel/soft edge bevel. I set my distance, I set my shadow colour & light colour and when I apply the bevel it changes the face colour to a murky combination of the original vector colour/shadow colour & light colour. I do not want to change the face colour of the text in any way.
Photoshop cc. I am having trouble with the clone stamp tool, it will often change back to the tool I was using before it when I try to change the size of the brush. It will sometimes happen when I go to use the hand tool (space bar short cut) it will go into the hand tool navigator mode (space+H) and then jump back to the previously used tool when I let go?
When I use the brush, eraser, or any other similar tool in Photoshop CS5, and use the [ or ] key to change the brush size, Photoshop will more often than not switch back to the previous tool I was using. The same thing will sometimes happen when I use 0-9 to change the opacity. It's a bit annoying and totally arbitrary when it happens, is there any way to turn this function off?
Similarly, pressing "e" to use the eraser tool will sometimes pull down the edit menu. I thought maybe there might be a correlation between pressing and holding the key, but it seems to be completely random. It will usually happen at least 20-30 times off and on while I'm working. My housemate never seems to encounter these problems in her version of Photoshop; I'm not sure if it's CS5 or CS6 she's using.
When I attempt to use the move tool to move a layer, as I grab the object in that layer, the move tool suddenly switches to the highest most layer, not the layer I selected. I can't seem to change this and this only started happening recently.
I've been using Elements 11 on my Pc (Windows 8) for ages with no problems, but in the last couple of days, almost everytime I launch Elements it will automatically switch from Expert to Quick.
Does the "high pass sharpening" subdue color saturation of the images? I was creating a photo collage type of art in InDesign. I also used Photoshop to sharpen and resize each individual images.
I used High Pass sharpening with Edge Masks. After readjusting the images in photoshop I saved them with new names and relinked the new file to the InDesign. When I relinked the new image, there was a noticeable degradation of color saturation. The images looked sharper but a lot more grayer or muddish. In photoshop, I didn't change the color space.
So I wondered if the High Pass filter alters the color saturation. Here is the link to my photoshop actions that I used to create the sharpening effect. what caused the color shift in my file
I open a .dng file which was in greyscale. Then converted it to RGB. Applied the effect Graphic Pen. Added a new layer, fill it with red, changed mode to Overylay, and when I tried merging down, or saving as a jpeg, it converts the image right back to B&W. I even tried changing my brush to red and Overlay mode, it just won't let me color the image at all. I've tried hue/saturation, and when I try to save the adjustment, it converts right back to B&W. Here are some screen shots.
How do I create an 16 color effect, when saving my gif animation (save for web and devices) it has an option to lower the number of colors from 256. I normally use the 8 or 16 colors as it gives a great effect to .gif images.
what you get is a Gothic type washed out effect, when you lower the number of colors, when saving a .gif . The overall aim is to have a .gif that starts at 16 colors and at the end turns into 256 colors. How can I achieve this effect.
Why am I losing the effect/color when going from duotone, tritone, etc. to rgb? Not using spot color, just using the picker to select the colors.
The when I try to change modes to RGB so I can save as a jpg it goes all b&w. Never had this issue before. This seems to happen only when I use the artistic filter graphic pen. I go to graphic pen use it, then grayscale, then duotone, then rgb.
I have seen this in a lot of photos especially kids photos. The picture on the right show more of what I am talking about. See the vibrant greens and blues and oranges. Obviously those are not the originally colors of that background. I am trying to figure out how this is done.
Looking for the setting for multi color circle effect for photoshop 11. I have used it before, but cant find it again. I was able to change the size of the circle , and only had to pick one color it did the multi color by its self.
I created a simple layer shape using the elipse shape tool, and applied a color overlay (blue) layer effect to that shape. The applied color overlay doesn't fill the entire shape (see image) making it look like the shape has a very wide stroke applied to it (it doesn't). If I "copy merged" the pasted copy is a rasterized version of the problematic overlay. If I rasterize the layer, the fill then covers the entire shape.
Jpeg below. Shape is black, color overlay is blue. There is no other effect applied. Blend mode normal, opacity 100%. The image upload won't let me attach the layered PSD file.
I'm seeing a lot of poster art these days online, and many of them have a really nice textured effect to the color fills. It's not your typical Photoshop filter, however.[URL]...
How is this done, do you think? A custom brush of some kind? Or load a selection and mask the color?I can't find the exact poster right now (that figures!) but sometime this texture looks almost like poor ink coverage, or a bad Zerox copy (low toner.)
