Why am I losing the effect/color when going from duotone, tritone, etc. to rgb? Not using spot color, just using the picker to select the colors.
The when I try to change modes to RGB so I can save as a jpg it goes all b&w. Never had this issue before. This seems to happen only when I use the artistic filter graphic pen. I go to graphic pen use it, then grayscale, then duotone, then rgb.
I'm using Photo & Graphic Designer 2013. I notice that the buttons are now under the Page Elements menu. I'm trying to figure out how to change the button color without losing the 3D effect. The Help says:
�Change the color by clicking on the appropriate colors on the left end of the Color Line and choosing 'edit'
if I just highlight the button and change the color, it turns the button into a flat color.
Have a photo of inside of bus, seat covers etc. Color comes out bold, very little black, I can't find a balance, where I have a fairly normal, but lighter black halftone, with an overlay of color.. (Old copy of PS 6) I know, ancient, but it works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a duotone image (warm grey and black) as an eps in photosho linked to Illustrator file. I need to be able to adjust each color as needed in photoshop. It is already setup as a duotone image and correctly separates in illustrator. I can do overall adjustments as needed but I would like to be able to throw a curve/adjust each color on it's own as needed in photoshop, and then relink.

With a RGB or CYMK no problem for me to have certain element in the picture distinguishing from the rest. But now I have to do the same building up in duotone (2 PMS colours). It looks like Photoshop doesn't allow to put a black&white layer into a duotone document (it automatically turns into the 2 duotone colours).
So how can i make a duotone image (source = FC) in which a part looks "black and white" (1 colour=black) and a part "lights up" in the second colour (2 colour= yellow)?
- so I know how to make a duotone image, that's not the problem
- i know how to work with layers and masks
(i try to upload the image.. but server seems very busy...)
I have put together this mini tutorial for doing a letterpress effect, and what's really nice is that the text stays as editable text and this effect is editable! You can change the text and/or the font without losing the effect as long as you don't overflow the text box.
I have attached a png large enough for viewing on screen (just click the thumbnail then click the pop up) and a .xar file with the instructions and examples you can pull apart.
You should be able to do this in Designer Pro or Photo & Graphic Designer from version 6 and up.

I don't want to distort my roof. There are lots of layers and paths as you can imaging creating a tiled roof.

I am trying to provide an image to an ad company for printing. When I change the color mode from RGB to CMYK, I lose the beautiful intense blue of the sky. I have tried to get this intensity back through photo filters, curves, levels, saturation, variations, color balance, selective color, and the channel mixer to no avail. Can anyone give me some tips on this? (I freely admit that my solution will probably be found in some combination of the above!)

How do I convert my cr2 image from camera into a jepeg to send online without losing the color and quality of the cr2 image? Mine gets really bad when I convert to jpeg. Can I size a cr2 also?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a diamond image, which obviously has different shades in it, it actually has dark, like dark brown shades, which i want to change to lighter smth like light yellow, i tried replace color, hue/sat//light but the effect is not realistic like an actual diamond looks, it is loosing its luminosity. i even tried with magic wand tool, by selecting each darker part and changing color, but it does'nt look realistic either.

Working in BRidge and Photoshop CS6:I have 160 color adjusted hi-res CR2 RAW files from my photographer, thought I was getting tifs. I need tifs for my INdesign file. I tried using the photoshop image proecessor through brige by selecting all my images and then saving as TIFFs but I am losing all my color correcting? Is there a way to save these out as tiffs as a group and not one at a time? I also might have lost my color correcting when I copies them all to one folder as well...not sure what is happening except now my great product shots look like crap.

Whatever format I use problem remains the same. Both my monitors I use are calibrated so there is no colors distortion, especialy that it happen to orange only.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I first started using CS6 I would edit my photos and when I used "save as" to save my photos then open them in a different photo viewer they would have lost a lot of color and contrast. When I reopened them in CS6 they still had no color. This is all occured on my PC. I used to use PSE 7 (on my PC) and the "save as" function to save them and they turned out fine. I recently got an iMac and when saved on there the same way and reopened in a different viewer they'd have the correct color,
but when opened on my PC the color would be lost again. Also tried opening the images I saved on my PC in CS6 on the iMac and they still had no colo/contrast. So that would mean it's not a monitor calibration thing. I'm trying to figure out how to save my photos so they have the best quality they can have for printing and also the correct color for clients to view on their computers.
PS: I did use the "save for web" option on my PC and the photos have the correct color that way! But those aren't the proper size and stuff for printing. Also I'm very new to iMac and full photoshop so I'm not sure what sizes/pixels/color modes/etc are normal or what photos are supposed to be.
I have two Duotone images generated using CS5. One is of some trees, with "holes" cut out where the leaves were (I used a a mask to generate transparent regions where the leaves should be), and another Duotone image of just the leaves. I would like to combine the two, with each Duotone image retaining its unique and different color scheme. If all went well, the leaves would be visible in the transparent "holes" of the tree image. However, when I try combining the two, by dragging one on top of the other, they both take on the Duotone color scheme of the trees image. So I do see the leaves in the "holes", but they have lost their unique coloring. Is it possible to combine these two Duotone images in some manner? The Duotones are saved in the default .psd format.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI done cmyk with spot plate in photoshop saving the file as a DCS 1.0 file type which gives me a file with an eps extension that I can place into InDesign for color seperation purposes. When I check the color seperation, all both cmyk and spot plates show up.
I need to make a Duotone with a spot plate. When I try to make a duotone and use a spot plate, the DSC option does not come up. I can only save as Photoshop, eps, large document format, pdf, photoshop 2 and raw. None of these give me the spot plate preview in Indesign.

I have a 2-color logo that is in TIFF format but was created as CMYK. It is black and Pantone 323. I am using it in a two-color job and need it to be in the 2 spot colors. I changed it to grayscale and then changed it to duotone, but the colored part shows up pretty muddy and dark looking, like it has too much black in it. I have tried changing the curves but that doesn't seem to help much. If it is duotone and the colors are specified to the printer, will it print correctly, even though it looks yucky onscreen?

I'm guessing it would come under some kind of duotone or limited palette affair.

Everyone has seen what I'm talking about I'm sure. If you imagine a nice, sharp, black and white photo - then imagine superimposing a colour on top. So you have the same nice sharp contours and tones - except you now have black, colour shades and white - instead of grey shades.
If you wan to use duotone to give that depth and vide variety of tones you cannot use the BW adjusment layer correct?
Because you need to start with a greyscale to get to duotone, correct?
Recently one of my photographer friend shared a scanned photograph, which was processed in photoshop and Duotone color mode was applied. So it's a PSD with Duotone color mode. Now when we go to Save as option, there is no option for saving it as TIFF or JPEG.

I had a rough deisgn to i converted ot greyscale but then no option for dutone was available.
So I made a new greyscale file...import the layers i want into a new psd file made to be the right size i require.
then convert to greyscale and save
but i still have no option to make duotone...
With other files not included the layeres i have imported in it works but not with these.
I really like the way the artist has painted these trees .
