I'm trying to figure out a way to make the baseline of a line of text come to a point (rather than rounding off like an "arc lower") without using an envelope, in CS6.
When I use envelope distort on a a chevron shape, the text warps beyond the shape and new anchor points and curves are automatically added. Here are images of [URL]
I am writing a script using javascript and the ESTK. I am able to access text frames in my document by name and/or id without a problem. However if the text frame is inside an envelope I can not access it using my script.
how to get text into a point while keeping the bottom of the text flat like the image.
I'm trying to recreate that image to a higher standard for a mate of mine who runs that company, all he's got at the moment is that hideous thing I copied and pasted from a word doc he emailed me.
I want to know in Photoshop Is there any plug_in that can make envelope distort (distort object to full-fill inside certain area) , something like envelope distort in Illustrator ?
I have a problem with the envelope distort function. The left part of the image shows what I want to distort with what shape, the right one is a close up for what it does in the mid corner (straight lines no longer straight... at least the horizontal ones...).
After I put an envelope on some text and then adjust the envelope (i.e. curve it upwards), I was wondering if you can still adjust letters' kerning with shape tool.
The technique of making an envelope distortion with the Top Object is very useful, because you can apply the same distortion (that is, the same top object) to any number of objects and at any time.
I'd like to use meshes in the same way. I don't want to apply mesh colour, or any other mesh property than its shape: I just want to use the mesh shape as a re-usable distorter.
(I've tried using the mesh as a Top Object, but the resulting error message is not useful. And I've also tried editing the mesh contents, but this doesn't work as there's no way to replace the contents with other objects.)
I am creating a template that will have four text boxes that I will populate from a merge document. I need to have the envelope feature applied to each of the text boxes so any long text will be compressed to fit in the designated text box.
I understand the basic function, input text, select text, select Envelope feature but that sets the envelope box to the size of the inputted text, where I need a fixed text input box size.
Is there a way to stretch the width of text, once it is in an envelope or on a path? You can adjust the kerning(spacing), but I don't see anywhere that you can adjust the width of the letters.
An example: I have the word MAVERICKS on an arched path in a design. I want to change that design for the RAMS, so where it says MAVERICKS it will now say RAMS. The problem is RAMS is a much shorter word and I need it to stretch to the same width as the previously used MAVERICKS.
I'm trying to distort a picture to make it fit a cover of a magazine. I read a few tutorials on Envelope Distort and followed directions. It seemed pretty straightforward.
I created a single, closed path that I placed it on a top layer. I placed the picture I want to distort and embedded iton a second layer behind the shape. Selected them together, continued with Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Top Object. But, the picture gets twisted and messed up.
This is what it looks like and I can't think of anything that is interfering with the process. This image will be part of a collage of images that will go on the front cover of my Google+ and Facebook profile.
In the previous versions of civil 3d 2012 or earlier, I never had a problem with the view cube not staying pointed to the north. Since I never touched it in the past, how do I get it to stay pointed to the north?
Brushes - I want a square pointed brush end for blocking out the background after using the magic wand. The round brush end does not work well on straight surfaces.
I would like to know how to create the shadow effect as pointed with the red arrow, if this design is to be printed to 2 spot color (Orange 021 C and Black)
I am using photoshop elements 8 on a Windows 7 OS. My cursor often turns into 3 hands with the index finger pointed. Is this normal? How do I get it back to just a simple arrow?
i've only been using photoshop for a few weeks and everything this was working fine till today. There is an small gray "01" and a picture of an envalope stuck in in upper left hand coner of everything I try to work on...
I have created a pine branch. This branch consists of needles. I would like the needle object to be possible to change in the future, so I made it a symbol.
After making the branch consisting of symbol needles (just a bunch of needles, grouped or not), it is not possible to use envelope on the branch and bend it. It can only be rotated or sized. Is it normal? How to create varieties?
I have recently been fighting an override of some sort that doesn't want to go away. As an example, for basic copy command, I would normally select my object to copy, type C, hit the space bar, and select my object again to copy to new location. With this override, I select my object, type C, hit the space bar, and in the command line, this appears:
Command: c COPY 1 found Current Settings: Copy mode = Multiple Specify base point or [Displacement/mOde] : c
I cannot get the Envelope tool to work correctly in Draw X5. Rather that go into a lenghty explanation, see below. Notice that some of the rectangles don't "bend" as they should. I converted all text to curves and then welded all objects together. However, it acts the same if they are grouped instead.
I am unable to select nodes and edit or delete them when using an envelope. I double-click or click and drag, and nothing happens. What do I need to do?
I'm looking for an easy way to extract the information of max box dimensions (X, Y, Z).
When we want to send one part, or assembly all over the world, we need those dimension. I think, it is something that inventor already have it but not in an easy way like a phisical propertie that you can include in your BOM. Is this something for autodesk to implement?
I recieved several .stp files from a vendor and most of them imported without incident. One part is giving me a major headache though. The envelope of the solid body is much larger than the actual part. This is causing the origin to be skewed by several orders of magnitude. Any way to trim down the envelope to the part size?
What I want to do is something like the envelope tool, but actually stretch an image from the center-points (kind of like the old pincushion settings in a CRT monitor):
I played around with the mesh warp tool, but that thing seems nearly impossible to fine tune even when I use the magnifier.
The tool "Warp Brush" would probably work with some delicacy, but seems to be exclusive to Paint Shop Pro, and the smear tool obviously will not work...
I have noticed on two machines that the SAP of Soft 2012 results on some odd offsets when trying to pick a vertex in paint weights mode. Apply a simple envelope and then go to solo and select vertex to see the offset from where your mouse arrow is and the vertex it highlights. Worked fine until the SAP update.
This has occurred on two separate machines. How/where do we submit a bug report?
When you centrally allign text horizontally and vertically in a text box, the text sits slightly high of the centre. Is there any way of setting an action or setting to deal with this rather than adjusting by eye every time?
i am trying to create a drop shadow on text. i select the text and then copy and then paste in back. however, the copy shows up way above the text and not behind it. what am i doing wrong?
