Currently, I am only allowed to open ANSI text files and not UNICODE text files...
But, I wish to open UNICODE text files .
I designed a text document in illustrator and it looks great...in illustrator. As soon as I export it to a PNG, an annoying outline around text appears.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was designing a business card as usual and copying some vector images from Illustrator, but when I tried to enter some text it came up blank...the color shows a question mark (?) even after I attempt to change the color.
I've seen the question mark before but all I needed to do in the past was select that little button and change it.
I'm having this strange issue with the Photoshop type tool in Photoshop CS5. It might be, although I'm not sure, a bug. The tool itself is working and lets me add text and edit. But the box that shows up when editing text (and the blinking line that shows where I am in the text) - has gone invisible. I am having this issue in only one document. - I tested the type tool on other documents, and everything was normal. I've looked up shotcuts and hotkeys to check if I've tapped a key or something, but it doesn't appear to be so.
Now about the document; it does have quite the amount of text layers, and a lot of text in them. I've tried resetting the type tool, and I've restarted the program.
When I restart the program, the tool works as it's supposed to - but after editing or adding a new text layer, the editing area is gone again! Is this a bug, or have I touched keys that do odd things?
Any way to turn off the ghost text that appears when you select text that is annotative, not get rid of it just not show all of the other scales for clarity.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI placed text on a shape and outlined it. As soon as I create a compound path, the result appears lighter than the originally outlined text (on screen and printed), although the paths seem to be identical when I overlay them. Same happens when I divide the paths.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.

Simple question:
am trying to edit a text layer but i am unable to open the text box to change text.
It creates a new text layer everytime i click on the layer.
I am still getting use to X3 and I am doing a project.
I want the text to scroll from the bottom, then stop when it gets on the screen about midway. I use the moving path to come from the bottom, but it won't stay. I try pop up, but it starts from the middle.
When you centrally allign text horizontally and vertically in a text box, the text sits slightly high of the centre. Is there any way of setting an action or setting to deal with this rather than adjusting by eye every time?

I'm aware of the being able to manually copy and paste, however I'd like to automate/batch this process.
For over 15 years I've been using a cataloging system written in VB6, as the writing is well and truly on the wall for VB6 I'm considereing moving to LR, but it's not clear if I can import all the existing data.
The data is not embedded in the images for the most part because we are talking old 5x4 neg scans etc.
I have access to the source code of my existing program and can therefore export the database fields in any format, CSV being the most obvious choice but I suppose I can write the code to export to anything.
So my question is, is there a mechanism to import such data, either when the photos are originally imported or assign the data to them post-import. And please don't suggest cut & paste, there's 20,000 pics

I'm trying to figure out how to import text to illustrator automaticly.
I have olny a few parameters: the text, what font to use, the size of the text (the text width and length in mm as if the text would be converted to outlines, needs to be exactly the right size) and the coulor.
Usually its one line of text, sometimes more lines of wich i have the widht and length of the complete block of text
The parameters could be in a cvs-file or something like that, ideally all texts would be imported in one file but it could be seperate files
Texts should be converted to outlines and saved as AI version 3
Is it possible to do this?

When I import this file the points do not take the style of the description key, they take a default style from somewhere. What trick am I missing so that when I import points into survey they use the description key and therefore have the correct style.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy work involves importing in new documents and formating them correctly. We have a specific font style that is different than the original font. Illustrator cannot read those fonts, so it defaults to Myriad Pro in the original text size. Since it is changing it from Myriad Pro to Arial, I don't really have a problem with the global change that this would have.
I already have the [Character Styles] options set up for a template, but this does not work on new documents.
We are on Windows 7 with CS6.
I am trying to move a text layer from one open file to another. I left-click on a text layer in one file and drag it to the tab of the other file. It seems to be successful, but there is no layer added to the other file.
If I try copy and paste then there will be another layer in the other file that I have to anchor or set as a new layer. If I anchor it then it becomes a part of the default layer. If I set it as a new layer then there is some sort of success, but I can’t edit it with the text tool as I can if I copy it within the same file.
Is it not possible to copy text layers between open files and continue to edit it with the text tool?
My Autocad Civil 3D 2008 crashed and when I restarted it and tried to open a drawing the file open or save as just brings up text in the command bar asking me to specify the name of the drawing to open. Where have my opo up boxes gone? I have had this problem before and found a code to type in which restored it but now I can't find it.

I am a student, when at school my drawing looks perfect. When I get home my text looks like it has been enlarged. I have checked all the sizes and have annotative turned off. I assume this has to be some setting that I have selected on my home computer but I can't find anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was working on a psd-file this morning when suddenly an error message appeared - saying somthing of the text engine. I canceled the error message a few times, then saved the document, closed photoshop and reopend the application. Since that moment, I was not able to open the file anymore, Photoshop just stopped making anything. But I can open every other psd-file, but not this specific one. Always when I try to open the specific file Photoshop stopps doing anything.
I tried a lot of things like deleting the font cache, trying to open the file with an older photoshop version, tried to open it with ID, AI, FW, Gimp etc.
I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 7 (64bit).
i created a pdf file a long time ago. the text is written in times new roman regular. now when i open the pdf in illustrator it shows a wrong font. i think the wrong font could be new times romance or something) but if mark the text and change the font from regular in bold, it shows the right font (times new roman bold).
how can i change back the text in times new roman regular?

In X6 text shows up on the screen with ragged edges unless selected. This does not allow an appropriate visual assessment of a full page.
I don't recall if this happened in X5, but I am pretty sure it didn't happen in X3.Is there any mechanism of turning this "feature" off. It is completely unwanted in my view.
I have Inventor professional 2011 & AutoCAD 2011.Both these programs are showing the same error. This is only affecting one PC out of 20 installed with the software
The text beneath the icons at the top of the screen appear as empty rectangular boxes. It would appear to be unable to render the character (as if it was a foriegn language set)
The PC language is set to UK English as is the keyboard.
I am using autocad 2008 and I used the function that allows you to hide objects such as hatching or lines under text. When I delete the text, I expected the invisible box to delete with it. Sadly this is not the case. I am not able to click or highlight the invisible box. How to remove said boxes?
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor printing or mailing purpose, i used to re-open big .psb layer files (2-6GB) in cs5 and cs6 with keybombo "alt" and "shift" while double clicking the document in the finder window (10.6 + 10.7.5), in order to save time.
This is not possible anymore, everytime i open a document this way its white and empty in photoshop.
