I am a student, when at school my drawing looks perfect. When I get home my text looks like it has been enlarged. I have checked all the sizes and have annotative turned off. I assume this has to be some setting that I have selected on my home computer but I can't find anything.
View 2 RepliesI work in an office where many people open the same file..the drawing was done with all the dimensions and text set to swiss cn bt but now after the file was opened again by different users from different computers...the text now appears differently each time...to some it appears as Arial others something else..
how do i fix this...i don want to individually select each one and change it back to swiss cn bt...and wen i do select individually and change it..the height of the dimension gets very small and becomes non editable.
Any way to turn off the ghost text that appears when you select text that is annotative, not get rid of it just not show all of the other scales for clarity.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having this strange issue with the Photoshop type tool in Photoshop CS5. It might be, although I'm not sure, a bug. The tool itself is working and lets me add text and edit. But the box that shows up when editing text (and the blinking line that shows where I am in the text) - has gone invisible. I am having this issue in only one document. - I tested the type tool on other documents, and everything was normal. I've looked up shotcuts and hotkeys to check if I've tapped a key or something, but it doesn't appear to be so.
Now about the document; it does have quite the amount of text layers, and a lot of text in them. I've tried resetting the type tool, and I've restarted the program.
When I restart the program, the tool works as it's supposed to - but after editing or adding a new text layer, the editing area is gone again! Is this a bug, or have I touched keys that do odd things?
I have Inventor professional 2011 & AutoCAD 2011.Both these programs are showing the same error. This is only affecting one PC out of 20 installed with the software
The text beneath the icons at the top of the screen appear as empty rectangular boxes. It would appear to be unable to render the character (as if it was a foriegn language set)
The PC language is set to UK English as is the keyboard.
I am using autocad 2008 and I used the function that allows you to hide objects such as hatching or lines under text. When I delete the text, I expected the invisible box to delete with it. Sadly this is not the case. I am not able to click or highlight the invisible box. How to remove said boxes?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've copied and pasted sections from old drawings into new ones, and it seems to have completely messed up some fundamental aspects of my AutoCad.
After I pasted I received some error message which I didn't understand. I think it said something about a "Language" problem, (Needless to say I clicked the nice big "OK" button without any thought). Now, every time I open CAD there are these square symbols where there should be text
I am running CAD from my company computer, so can't use the add/remove programmes repair trick. How I can reset all/relevant settings within CAD to get things back to normal?
I'm running the 2010 model.
When I print my project to pdf there appears to be a copy (in white) of the text behind all the letters.

When writing dtext or dimensions on my drawings in modelspace the text appears rough/rugged in both model space and layout space. I am using True Type (Arial) as the font. I've read older posts where people have suggested checking in Properties that the text is really laying down at 0 in the Z plane which it is. Some say using True Type is the problem, but just last week I was doing what seemed to be the same operation and I had no problems at all.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen creating text in model space it appears both mirrored and rotated 90 degrees to the horizontal. However, when I create text in paper space it is fine. I have tried looking at the properties for the text but although I can find a place to rotate the text back to the horizontal it is still mirrored and therefore unreadable.
When I copy paste stuff from one document to another this also occurs.
In X6 text shows up on the screen with ragged edges unless selected. This does not allow an appropriate visual assessment of a full page.
I don't recall if this happened in X5, but I am pretty sure it didn't happen in X3.Is there any mechanism of turning this "feature" off. It is completely unwanted in my view.
I designed a text document in illustrator and it looks great...in illustrator. As soon as I export it to a PNG, an annoying outline around text appears.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I put text into photoshop CS3, and then zoom into it, the edges are all fuzzy and jaggy.
I was of the opinion that all text were vectors in PS and so the edges should be smooth as. Unfortunately, the text prints out all jaggedy on my laser printer also just like it looks on the screen. I've also played with the anti-alias options somewhat. Obviously when I do this in Illustrator, it is spot on vector, but not in PS.
What am I doing wrong here? When I convert the text into a shape, sure... the nice vector lines appear around text. But shouldn't the text be vector straight up when I create a text layer in PS, and then I should be able to rasterize it when adding filter effects etc?
Is there any way for me to work with my text in Photoshop in sharp vector-resolution so that it's sharp at all resolutions? Let me describe a test I've done:
I open up a A4 300 ppi resolution document in Photoshop and simply type the word "Photoshop" at 72pt size Myriad Pro font. The anti-aliasing is set to 'Crisp'. Firstly, it doesn't look the best as it is on the screen with the edges 'jaggy'. Secondly, I hit print and it tells me I'm printing to a non-postscript printer (i.e my laser which I know IS postscript!!). When it prints out, it looks crap just like it did on my screen (edges jaggy).
I then open up a simple A4 document in Illustrator, type the word "Photoshop" at the same size text as outlined above. Looks great on screen OBVIOUSLY because it's vector-based and is sharp at all resolutions. I hit print, it it spits out the document perfectly printed as it is on screen.
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this with Photoshop, but my text looks garbage only when using Photoshop. Not with any other program out there (ie. MS Word, Publisher, Illustrator, Serif Drawplus, Serif Pageplus, Serif Photoplus....)
Why do blocks appears behind text when converting to outlines? This only effects some text, even though the font and character attributes are the same.

I've seen the question mark before but all I needed to do in the past was select that little button and change it.
It just appears as one line however big i make the text box and the text overlaps so its all one illegiable line.

View 21 Replies View Relatedhow subassemblies work, vis a vis pkt files & all the files created in the ProgramData folder (.atc, .cfg, .dll, .emd, .pvd, .xaml, pdb)? Here's our situation:
A user will make a subassembly, save it locally. The subassembly is used in a corridor. A different user tries to access this file: the subassembly is there (shows in plan), but the parameters are empty and that part of the assembly doesn't run. The subassembly doesn't appear in the Tool Pallet. You do get a .NET error when trying to look at the subassembly.
How we fix this is to open up the C:ProgramDataAutodeskC3D 2013enuImported Tools folder on the computer which made the subassembly, copy everything, and paste it into the other computer's C:ProgramDataAutodeskC3D 2013enuImported Tools folder. How/why doesn't the drawing which has the subassembly in it just work?? And moving forward, how can we share drawings with custom subassemblies? Remap everyone's .net search path to a network drive?
I drafted some point features with 0 degrees angle in one computer. When i check in another computer in same drawing for that features those are showing with 5.579 degrees angle. I expected that some system variable maybe change in that computer. which variable i need to change? If this is not related to system variable how to change this angle.

The dll is loaded with the use of the Autoloader. For me it is a nice way to load dll and lisp files everybody needs at startup.This is the xml code

Like I said, all went well untill I tried to install another copy of Autocad on another computer. The lisp-files are loading fine on this pc but the dll-file is not loading. When I try to load it with netload everything is ok so the dll should be allright.
Like all other pc's it is a Windows 7 64bit pc and nothing is different form those other pc's. So I really don't know where to look for the problem, let alone the solution.
I tried everything like renaming the dll (no spaces), trying to load the dll only, also loading from the programdata folder instead of the programfiles(x86) folder.
I use ACA 2012 on two seperate computers and would like to be able to have all my custom tool palettes, blocks, customizations, etc.. to migrate to both computers. I.e. I add a new tool to a tool palette on one computer and then when I'm working on second computer that new tool appears in palette in correct location. I would think the easist way to do this would to be to share the location of the tool palettes, customization files, etc.. at a common place (network share) but am unable to find all the files and settings to do this.
