View 2 RepliesI've copied and pasted sections from old drawings into new ones, and it seems to have completely messed up some fundamental aspects of my AutoCad.
After I pasted I received some error message which I didn't understand. I think it said something about a "Language" problem, (Needless to say I clicked the nice big "OK" button without any thought). Now, every time I open CAD there are these square symbols where there should be text
I am running CAD from my company computer, so can't use the add/remove programmes repair trick. How I can reset all/relevant settings within CAD to get things back to normal?
I'm running the 2010 model.
In the last 2 days Corel has decided to start changing Artistic Text to Paragraph Text when I copy & paste it across documents, completely changing the font, size & colour of what I am copying.
I've just done a factory reset & it's still doing it.
I don't recall doing anything that would change a setting.
The text I am copy & pasting are disclaimers that are all set on 1 document & I copy & paste them to a proof as needed.
I've been using CorelDraw X3 for a while now and whenever I have copied and pasted artistic text is has simply pasted over itself in the same place for me to move wherever I want to.
Yesterday I copied some artistic text and when I hit paste it pasted as paragraph text, in a different size and font and in the center of the page. Have I accidentally and unawares changed a setting?I know I can get around this by duplicating instead of pasting but it is frustrating as it is a feature I use constantly.
I am taking a pdf file into coreldraw home & student X6 to edit and change layout from landscape to portrait. When it opens the paragraphs are either objects or artistic text, so when adjusting the bounding box the text stretches instead of wrapping. I have tried both importing the file as well as opening it. What am I doing wrong?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Draw X6 and I was using X5 before. I noticed a default setting has changed for text alignment. In X5, if I selected artistic text that had the property of being left justified, and then if I changed the property to centered or right justified, the text didn't move. In versions previous to X3, and also in X6, the text moves. This is especially frustrating if I want it to remain in place within an object grouping structure.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen we work with Artistic text, corel X6 gets slow. This is on all computers with Corel X6. If we use Corel X3 it is ok. Any reason?
When using Artistic text there is also always automatic inserted several empty lines in bottom.
I'm having this strange issue with the Photoshop type tool in Photoshop CS5. It might be, although I'm not sure, a bug. The tool itself is working and lets me add text and edit. But the box that shows up when editing text (and the blinking line that shows where I am in the text) - has gone invisible. I am having this issue in only one document. - I tested the type tool on other documents, and everything was normal. I've looked up shotcuts and hotkeys to check if I've tapped a key or something, but it doesn't appear to be so.
Now about the document; it does have quite the amount of text layers, and a lot of text in them. I've tried resetting the type tool, and I've restarted the program.
When I restart the program, the tool works as it's supposed to - but after editing or adding a new text layer, the editing area is gone again! Is this a bug, or have I touched keys that do odd things?
I need to import DXF files to Corel, but when I import them, the text appear as paragraph text, not as artistic text...that's not a problem if the paragraph text includes all the text...but it do not do that. Some texts appears as paragraph with red lines (so it is not possible to see it, as well as not possible to convert directly to artistic with Ctrl+F8). Also, some paragraph text appear as 2 lines instead of just one, because it do not feed in wide but yes in height.
I would like to import the text directly as artistic...or as paragraph, but with the same appearance of the original DXF file.
Draw X6.4..if I make a line break in Artistic Text (Enter) I get a forced line break (as with Shift+Enter). In the X5 is still alright
View 13 Replies View Relateddrawing up faceplate artwork for our company. It has text on it and at the last design review I was mentioned that they want the text to be all the same "aspect ratio", ie. an "o" in the one object should be exactly the same size and shape as in the other.
The problem is that I cannot seem to be able to do this without replacing all the text from scratch.
In a program like AutoCAD I can specify text width and set it at, say 80%, but I can't find a similar function in CorelDRAW.
Coreldraw X6 seems to be much much slower when editing text content.
When I work on a product brochure with a lot of text involved, CorelDraw become very low responsive when I edit the text e.g. select, move, typing, etc etc. It happens to both paragraph text and artistic text.
Btw I'm running X6 on an old XP machine.
I have expanded some artistic text say by 30%. Now I want to expend remaining all artistic text by 30%. How to do it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a bunch of filled ellipses scattered around a drawing, and I want to place numbers & symbols inside these shapes. But whenever I choose the text tool and click inside the shape Corel is 'automatically assuming' that I want to format as paragraph text, and then it's all over. The only way I can 'escape' the paragraph formatting is to delete the shape & start over.
Is there any way I can temporarily-disable paragraph text, or force the characters to be artistic text?
I can't see how to set my basic default settings that I have always used for:- artistc text: color, size, etc.- paragraph text: line spacing, etc.- graphic: color, outline, etc.
I even click "text properties" and nothing happens.
How is it done in X6?
I used to be able to copy text from an email and a word document into Corel Draw 13 and easily convert it to artisitc text. Now it does not allow that.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthrough some difficulty I'm having in getting the leading (ie, line spacing) I want with artistic text, in CorelDraw 12? I have three lines of text, the first line of which has a font size of 20 pt, and the second and third lines having a font size of 13 pt. The default leading is greater between the first and second lines than between the second and third -- probably due to the font size difference. I would like to make the leading equal for all lines, regardless of font size, but can't figure out how to do that. "Format Text - Spacing - Lines" seems to offer leading only in relation to character height -- which automatically makes the leading between the first and second line larger (due to the larger font size used in the first line) than it is between the subsequent lines.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn X6 text shows up on the screen with ragged edges unless selected. This does not allow an appropriate visual assessment of a full page.
I don't recall if this happened in X5, but I am pretty sure it didn't happen in X3.Is there any mechanism of turning this "feature" off. It is completely unwanted in my view.
If it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?
I frequently require mathematical symbols such as ≤ or ≥, which are easy enough to insert as unicode characters and supported by common fonts such as Arial.
However, when I try to import text containing such characters, such as within an Excel table, they just import as "?" instead. I've tried pasting Excel table in various formats. As an Excel object or a Metafile the overall formatting is retained correctly but the symbols become question marks. Enhanced Metafile preserves the symbols but alters the fonts so that the text no longer fits within the cell, ruining the layout.
I've also noticed that when I manually insert unicode symbols using the text tool in CorelDraw X6 it changes the font to Adobe Fangsong Std R (which looks awful). If I try to change the font after the fact, everything changes except the symbols. Highlighting the symbols also looks different: rounded highlight rectangle versus normal rectangle for ordinary text. It seems CorelDraw refuses to treat these symbols as ordinary unicode text forcing them instead into this horrible wirey font instead.
I also have issues try to export from CorelDraw to say Powerpoint where Corel will automatically format some text as ligatures but when exporting these just show up as "?" in Powerpoint.
1) Is there any way to get CorelDraw X6 to reliably import and export text, including unicode symbols, without messing up the formatting/layout.
2) is there any way to get CorelDraw not to change the font of symbols?
I don't want to appear dense but Lightroom 5 appears to be stuck in full screen (Windows 7 64 bit). The FILE, EDIT, ... drop down menus only appear after carefully hovering near the top of the screen and the minimize, full screen, and close buttons never appear. I don't want to close LR to check email, browse, or kill time while it is rendering previews.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm transferring a 1st draft book from a PDF file by copying and pasting text and photos. So far, so good.
During the pasting process, I've selected to maintain fonts and formatting. Despite this, the text gets pasted with only some of the formatting and some correct fonts. But that's easily fixable.
All the text, now in X4, is Left Justified. The author has requested that it be Full Justified (looks better). When I select a paragraph and Full Justify it, the words/lines shrink further to the left. Altering the Spacing from the default 60% to 100% allows it move to the right, but not all the way to the right of the text box.
I've tried hyphenation. Still, there's a limit to how far right the text is allowed to go.Force Justify stretches it all out fine, but the spaces are too big between the words.
I made a new text box and typed in the same content that's in a paragraph of the pasted text. It Fully Justifies perfectly!
So, there seems to be some invisible 'barrier' within the pasted text stopping the Full Justify process from working properly.
In the attached image the last line gets separated out. The text is full justified and I tried things like hyphenation etc which i read around here but didnt work and still the text in the last line each word gets separated out.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.
In PS CS4 Mac, I used to be able to print the full document info that appears in the title bar, including the currently selected layer/group. This would print at the top of my document and might look like:
File Name.psd 100% (layer name, RGB/8)
I always thought this was a function of selecting "Label" in the Output window of the print dialogue box. However, it does not seem to be working anymore, and now it simply prints the file name, like this:
File Name.psd
How can I turn this feature back on so that I get the entire document window? Or another method to accomplish something similar? I am printing individual layers from a single document and having them automatically "labeled" is useful.

When selecting SAVE AS in Photoshop CS5, I received a message saying that the disk is full. This is this first time I have seen this message from CS2 on. I don't understand what disk is being mentioned here. Of course I understand what disk full means, but I don't understand what disk is being discussed or refered to.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've imported a logo to Corel Draw. The logo has several simple polylines. I'd like to convert them into artistic media in order to simulate calligraphic or hand made looking strokes. I pick the polyline, then I select Artistic Media from Effects menu. Then CD shows me the Default Strokes in a side docker window. I select any stroke.
The polyline changes, but I can't modify the stroke width spinner. Is there another method to convert lines to artistic media without redraw them over.
Is it possible to get the line thickness down of the calligraphic and/or pressure tools in artistic media? The minimum thickness seems to be .762mm (2.16 pt or 0.03"). I use a Wacom Intuos 3.
